One of Hollywood's most famous and enduring stars has dropped from sight, leaving fans concerned about his well-being, according to an entertainment news outlet. Clint Eastwood has not been seen in public since Feb. 6, 2022 -- 408 days ago, Radar Online reported Tuesday. That occasion was when the 92-year-old actor and director attended the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Club near his home in Carmel, California. Since then, there have been no public sightings of the "Dirty Harry" star, according to the outlet. "This year, sources say Clint skipped the tournament for only the second...

What is the making of a "good person?" Different people use different scales to determine who is good and who is not. Over the years, there have been many factors that have been used to categorize people. And the internet keeps providing more updated benchmarks for us to measure people by. The latest theory that has been making rounds on the internet is the "Shopping Cart Theory" and it can perfectly define a person's character. It is a modern-day take on the trolley problem with a more real-life application and implication. Depending on how you answer the following question, you...

Over the weekend of March 11-12, Silicon Valley Bank got taken over by federal regulators. SVB was the 16th largest bank in the U.S., with total assets of over $200 billion. Depositors were withdrawing their deposits at a rapid pace, and the bank was quickly running out of liquidity to meet the demands. And then over this most recent weekend, it was Credit Suisse, suddenly forced by Swiss regulators into a shotgun wedding with its larger Swiss rival UBS. CS was a much older and larger player than SVB, founded in 1856, with over $500 billion of assets (down from...

Methodist Bible college in the U.K. fired a Christian theologian and threatened to report him as a terrorist because of his tweets in opposition to homosexuality, his attorneys claimed.Dr. Aaron Edwards, who taught theology at Cliff College in Derbyshire, England, was dismissed from the school after being accused of "bringing the college into disrepute" on social media last month."Homosexuality is invading the church," Edwards tweeted on Feb. 19. "Evangelicals no longer see the severity of this [because] they're busy apologizing for their apparently barbaric homophobia, whether or not it's true."This *is* a ‘Gospel issue,’ by the way. If sin is...

Lab-grown chicken has taken a step closer to hitting American grocery stores. The Food and Drug Administration on Monday cleared cultured "cultured chicken cell material" made by GOOD Meat as safe for use as human food. While the FDA said the lab-grown chicken was safe to eat, GOOD Meat still needs approval from the Agriculture Department before i can sell the product in the U.S. If approved, acclaimed chef José Andrés plans to serve GOOD Meat's chicken to customers at his Washington, D.C. restaurant. He's on GOOD Meat's board of directors. "The future of our planet depends on how we...

He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. 2 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4 Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this...

When my father (b.1924, d.2017) was in his teens, it was a big event to finally be able to borrow the family horse and wagon to go into town on a Saturday night. Early Sunday morning, Dad recalled he would invariably fall asleep on the return trip home, only to wake up with the wagon and horse standing beside his house. It turns out that the horse knew the 6-mile route by heart and would simply carry on while Dad snoozed on the buckboard. Today, they get all excited about "self-driving" cars. Big deal. Nothing new!

In 2017, automakers were scrambling to develop cars that could drive themselves. Ford Motor bet a billion dollars on a startup called Argo AI to catch up to flashy tech companies like Google, Uber and Tesla. Volkswagen, the second-largest automaker in the world, signed on as a backer in 2019, investing $2.6 billion Argo AI at a valuation of more than $7 billion. By 2021, Argo AI was valued at $12.4 billion and counted 2,000 employees, with offices on two continents and self-driving tests underway in seven cities. There were plans to bring a self-driving taxi service to market by...

When you read this tweet from the ACLU, it sounds like West Virginia’s attorney general is trying to block a 12-year-old transgender girl from attending school. West Virginia's attorney general is trying to block a 12-year-old transgender girl from continuing to participate in school — and he's trying to take the case all the way to the Supreme Court. We urge the Court to reject this egregious and cruel case. https://t.co/MEfeRgtb4T — ACLU (@ACLU) March 20, 2023 Well, this is a lie. https://t.co/zs3EIsGa36 — Chad Felix Greene (@chadfelixg) March 21, 2023 Yes, it is. BERLIN (Reuters) -Germany's economic council on Wednesday warned that inflation could remain high for longer or even pick up again if financial market worries prevent central banks from raising interest rates. "The recent increase in financial market risks has made it more difficult for central banks to fight inflation," the five "wise ones" who advise Berlin on economic policy said in their biannual report. "If the monetary policy response is too weak due to these trade-offs, inflation could remain high for longer than expected or even pick up again," they added. Commenting on recent turmoil in the banking sector at...

A bill that aims to seal many criminal records in New York is advancing in the state Senate after it was approved by a key committee in the chamber. But full passage of the measure remains in doubt once again this year as supporters hope to either have the provision included in an agreed-to state budget in the coming days or approved by June 8, the final scheduled day of the legislative session. The proposal, known as the Clean Slate Act, would seal criminal records of people who have completed their sentences in New York in order to make it...

The medical establishment's prescription? Every doctor must be the same race as every patient! Apparently, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has taken the lead in accelerating progress toward Personalized Health Care. So we are on the same page, let us use this definition of Personalized Health Care (emphasis in the original): Personalized health care (PHC) is an overarching framework for care that unifies predictive technologies with an engaged patient to coordinate care with the primary aim of promoting health and preventing disease. PHC focuses on patient-centered health care, personalized health planning (PHP), shared decision-making, and patient engagement. It seeks...

HIGGINSON, and two companies of the Second South Carolina Volunteers, Col. MONTGOMERY, for the purpose of establishing a permanent post and base of operations on the St. John's River, Florida, which should also be a refuge for fugitives, and the headquarters for the organization of the colored troops. "Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matt. 6:10). Your prayers make a difference! Matthew 6:10 literally says, "Whatever you wish to have happen, let it happen immediately. As your will is done in heaven, so let it be done on earth." That's a prayer of active commitment to God's will. Many people don't pray like that because they don't understand God's character. They think their prayers don't matter and that God will impose His will on them no matter what they do. They tend to pray with passive resignation, indifference, or resentment. I remember praying...

After all his weeping and crying out to the Lord, David ended up declaring, “But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared” (Psalm 130:4, NKJV). The Holy Spirit began to flood his soul with memories of God’s mercies, and suddenly David recalled all he had learned through the years about the Father’s loving, forgiving nature. “But you are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness, and did not forsake them” (Nehemiah 9:17). Soon David was rejoicing, reminding himself, “For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy...

HB 2555 passed with wide bipartisan support, on a 52-8 vote. The bill requires retail businesses to be willing to accept cash as a form of payment for goods and services with a total value of up to $100. HB 2555 now moves to the Senate for consideration. “People rely on using cash for transactions,” said the bill’s sponsor Representative Chaplik. “As of 2021, FDIC data estimates...
