SLED investigating Stephen Smith's death as a homicide, agency confirms

HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A spokesperson for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed that the agency is now investigating the 2015 death of Stephen Smith as a homicide.
"That is accurate. The Stephen Smith case is being investigated as a homicide," said Ryan Alphin, Executive Affairs Director with SLED.

My hunch is that fairies aren’t universally popular in South Carolina.Seems to me that if murder is involved it could have been just about anyone.

There was another Stephen (Steven?) Smith - a guest on the Paul Finebaum show - sportswriter or something but not the Stephen A. Smith on ESPN.

I didn’t want to violate Free Republic rules by reading the article before posting. I have now looked at the article and still have no idea who Stephen Smith was, only that Murdaugh might be responsible for his death (but nothing on any reason why he is suspected).

Buster murdaugh is the oldest son of Alex murdaugh.....just convicted of murdering his younger son and wife.
If you aren’t familiar with that whole story this probably won’t make a lot of sense.....my apologies for any confusion.
