BOISE, Idaho — The Washington Medical Commission has filed a statement of charges against Dr. Ryan Cole, who represents Ada County on the Central District Health Board of Health. The statement of charges alleges Dr. Cole made “numerous false and misleading statements” about the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines, treatment and masks. In the statement of charges, the Washington Medical Commission writes that his comments were "harmful and dangerous to individual patients, generated mistrust in the medical profession and in public health, and had a widespread negative impact on the health and well-being of our communities.” The statement also alleges Cole "prescribed...

Islamabad (AFP) – A massive power breakdown across Pakistan continued after night fell on Monday, affecting most of the country's 220 million residents, including in the mega cities of Karachi and Lahore. Pakistan's national power system is a complex and delicate web where problems can quickly cascade. The breakdown was caused by a fault in the national grid at around 7:30 am (0230 GMT), plunging much of the country into darkness. "We hope that the electricity will be restored throughout the country by tonight," Energy Minister Khurram Dastagir Khan said in a video statement. The cut was caused by a...

The Opponents of Free Speech Are Gaining Ground. Here’s How We Can Fight BackWhen we break down the core institution of free speech, we lose a lot of what made America so successful in the first place.Free speech used to be held up as one of the core American institutions. It was enshrined in the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights for a reason: while other countries have also adopted free speech, it is a fundamentally American tradition.More than that, free speech is essential on its own terms. It is the single best way for humans to make progress....

23 January 2023Monday of week 3 in Ordinary Time Saint Marianne Cope parish, Solvay, NY Readings at MassLiturgical Colour: Green. Year: A(I).First readingHebrews 9:15,24-28 ©Christ offers himself only once to take on the faults of manyChrist brings a new covenant, as the mediator, only so that the people who were called to an eternal inheritance may actually receive what was promised: his death took place to cancel the sins that infringed the earlier covenant. It is not as though Christ had entered a man-made sanctuary which was only modelled on the real one; but it was heaven itself, so that...

Nita Farahany, recently speaking at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, touted the “extraordinary promise” of the use of mind-reading devices in the workplace and elsewhere. Farahany noted that the devices, in some forms, are already here. The legal ethicist and author of The Battle for Your Brain gave a talk titled “Ready for Brain Transparency?” She cited existing consumer-wearable devices such as “headbands, hats that have sensors that can pick up your brain wave activity, earbuds, headphones, tiny tattoos that you can wear behind your ear -- we can pick up emotional states.” Kinda creepy...

Ah, the start of a new week with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen arguing (with a straight face) that there is no room in the Federal budget for cuts. Apparenly, Yellen never read any of the massive, pork-laden spending bills signed by Biden (no one else did in Congress either, nor did Biden). Let’s start with the US credit default swap (1 year). It remains high at 68.72 (the price of insuring against a US default). And the US Treasury yield curve (10Y-3M)? It remains deeply inverted at -114 basis points this morning signaling an impending US recession. Then we have...

You can call everyone for dinner, because our goose is cooked. We are so deep in debt that the only way we can keep the entire system from collapsing is to keep borrowing even more money. Perhaps you have been through a similar scenario with your own personal finances. When you simply do not have enough money to pay your bills, borrowing more money can seem like a really easy short-term solution. Unfortunately, the U.S. government has been doing this for decades, and now our national debt spiral has reached a terminal stage. Even if we gathered up all of...

Huu Can Tran Huu Can Tran was identified as the 72-year-old mass shooting suspect who killed at least 10 people in a Monterey Park, California, ballroom dance studio during a Chinese New Year’s festival celebration, the Los Angeles County Sheriff said in a news conference. Corporation records obtained by Heavy through the State of California showed that Tran once registered a corporation called Tran’s Trucking Inc. Its registration terminated two years later. He was living in San Gabriel, California, at the time, according to the 2002 filing. His ex-wife and friends told CNN Tran used to frequent the Star Ballroom...

It wasn't enough that the greenie left came for our light bulbs, our flush toilets, our guns, our plastic straws, our gas stoves, or our hamburgers. Now they're coming for our coffee. According to the New York Post: Canadian researchers analyzed coffee’s “contribution to climate change” in a piece published in early January and suggested people moderate their consumption of the popular drink as a part of the solution. Researchers Luciano Rodrigues Viana, Charles Marty, Jean-François Boucher and Pierre-Luc Dessureault wrote in an analysis published in The Conversation that pollution from preparing coffee was “just the tip of the iceberg.”...

Poverty in America is so bad that some people can barely afford their cell phones. In much of the rest of the world, poor people starve to death, or die of what in America are ordinary, survivable diseases or injuries. In America, injustice is so bad that many lawyers appointed by the court cannot get their clients acquitted of the crimes they committed, and must settle for a plea bargain. Elsewhere, to be accused is to be found guilty and imprisoned in hell-hole cellars, innocence being irrelevant to the courts of so-called justice. In the U.S., police sometimes bruise a...

China’s population has started to decline and this has set off a Pavlovian negative reaction – via the news media – of the sort that we have seen before in the case of Japan. Reuters warns that the news “sounds alarm on demographic crisis.” CNN predicts that the “impact will be felt around the world”, will act as a “drag on growth” and “could threaten China’s ambitions of overtaking the United States as the world’s largest economy.” Even if some of the dire prophecies are accurate, however, the population decline will also make automation an absolute necessity – as has...

United Airlines’ CEO said airlines are selling seats for flights they can’t staff — but Buttigieg hasn’t acted on state officials’ demand that he crack down. The recent holiday travel meltdown wasn’t a fluke or a one-off — cancellations will continue because airlines routinely sell tickets for flights they know they may not be able to staff and operate, the chief executive of United Airlines told investors yesterday. The stunning admission from the highest reaches of the airline industry confirms a warning sent by state attorneys general to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg prior to the December travel meltdown. However, Buttigieg...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMatthew 27The Burial of Jesus 57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. 58 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. 61 Mary Magdalene and the other...

Poor helpless, hapless, mumbling, stumbling, bumbling brain-dead Joe Biden. It’s all over for him. The puppet’s days are clearly numbered. It’s so obvious what’s happening. Biden’s presidency is over. The Deep State and DC Swamp don’t need him anymore. He served his purpose. Now they want him out. There are two reasons why all of this is happening now. First, Democrats realize Biden is not only the worst candidate in the history of politics, but he is deteriorating right in front of everyone’s eyes. Biden may have started out as a brain-dead puppet, wearing masks and diapers, and hiding in...
