A US State Department study on the prison found that it was infested with rats and maggots while due to low staff numbers, the inmates were only allowed out of their cells for 30 minutes a week. One section of the study reads: 'Many cells also lacked running water, and in those cells, inmates removed human waste by bucket.'It continued: 'Sanitation was a general problem, with cells infested with rats, maggots and insects. Ventilation was also a general problem. Prisoners in maximum security had access to sanitary facilities only one hour a day and used slop buckets as toilets.'Another section...

The stuff uncovered in the Twitter whistleblower report is much crazier than anything in the "Twitter files" but it's much less politically/tribally salient so it got no attention. Going to do a thread on some of the craziest things, in no particular order. Twitter didn't monitor employee computers at all, it was not uncommon for employees to install spyware on work devices. Twitter does not have separate development, test, staging, and production environments. At least 5,000 employees had privileged access to production systems...

Queen Elisabeth was a beautiful woman. She was the world's last head of state to serve in the armed services in World War Two. She stood for high ideals. But the PC trashing of Western Societies goes on now at the hands of leftist government criminals who have no shame. They trash anything good she stood for. God Bless Freedom. God Save The West. Please pray with me for us all.

China also said that the soldiers of the Indian Army "illegally crossed the line to block" a routine patrol of Chinese border troops.

California Sen. Alex Padilla will not support Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' resolution aimed at blocking U.S. support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen... His "no" vote marked a blow to the resolution, the fate of which was originally expected to be decided on the Senate floor on Tuesday. But Sanders announced Tuesday evening that he would be pulling the resolution from the floor instead so he could work with the Biden administration to draft a bill the White House would agree to. One of Padilla's main concerns, according to a spokesperson, was that the bill did not have President Joe...

CTH took considerable flak for reporting on the uniparty system of Georgia politics prior to the 2020 midterms. With the election in the rearview mirror, the Georgia Secretary of State is now proposing to permanently codify Democrat control of the state. (Via Reason) […] Speaking to The New York Times last week, Raffensperger said he would petition the state legislature with three separate proposals. One would force large counties to open more locations for voting early. Another would lower the vote total needed to avoid a runoff from 50 percent to 45. The third proposal is the most consequential, and...

Twenty protesters withstood freezing temperatures over the weekend to defy the project, which started in August after Ducey issued an executive order directing the state Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to fill gaps in the existing border wall in Yuma County. The project's $95 million expansion into Cochise County comprises about 3,000 steel containers, The Associated Press reported. Ducey's office did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Until last week, when protesters blocked access to the site, work crews stacked hundreds of shipping containers topped with razor wire along Arizona's remote eastern boundary with Mexico. Demonstrators say they...

Guest post by Tim Canova While there has been much public attention on the U.S. Supreme Court’s present consideration of the “independent state legislature” theory in Moore v. Harper involving North Carolina’s redistricting, that case would not immediately upend the 2020 Presidential Election. In contrast, a little-known case that appeared recently on the Court docket could do just that. The case of Brunson v. Adams, not even reported in the mainstream media, was filed pro se by ordinary American citizens – four brothers from Utah — seeking the removal of President Biden and Vice President Harris, along with 291 U.S....

On January 6, 2021, Capitol Police killed four Trump supporters at the US Capitol. Dozens of federal operatives were working inside the enormous Trump crowd that day and promoting violence. The media hid this for years from the American public. Now tonight a new report was released of a mysterious website that had over 500 pages of threats and discussions of murder and violence at the US Capitol on January 6. For some reason that report was just released today by Yahoo News. Why now? And what website are they talking about? And if this is true, Nancy Pelosi should...

Some 500 migrants were released into the streets of El Paso, Texas, to fend for themselves Monday as the border city grappled with an overwhelming influx of asylum seekers who have besieged the city and overwhelmed its shelters and border detention facilities. Migrants with nowhere to go were seen lying on mattresses and cardboard boxes in the city’s downtown district after having their claims processed and being let into the country by Border Patrol agents, according to KTSM-TV. The situation, which a local congressman dubbed a “crisis on steroids,” came as some 5,628 asylum seekers were held in temporary US...

A Florida realtor was stunned to find a nude couple romping in the pool of a property she was preparing to show a client, police said. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported the startled agent pulled up to the empty home in Davenport on Dec. 5 and saw a mysterious car in the driveway around 9:45 a.m. Knowing that no one was authorized to be on the property, the suspicious broker called 911. Responding deputies found a naked and unafraid couple cavorting in the home’s pool. The uninhibited intruders told officers that they had specifically come to the property to...

A quartet of Atlanta nurses have been fired for recording a viral TikTok video of them grousing about the irritating habits of the patients they’re tasked with helping and their families. “We already told you to push the call light,” one nurse says in the clip. “But every five minutes you have a family member coming to the front desk asking for something else.” A colleague then enters the frame and does a sarcastic impression of a demanding relative.

One of the main reasons for the current low uptake of the COVID mRNA bivalent booster (less than 43 million doses administered) is the scary anecdotes of side effects overreported in the media. These stories are not effectively countered by presenting unexciting low-risk data, or the equally boring but true knowledge that the more immunity you have the better off you are against COVID’s short- or long-term side effects. You will likely get less sick and you will recover more quickly and completely. But fear of a rare side effect overcomes reasoned reassurance every time. There is also some evidence...
