Danica McKellar Stands Up for Candace Cameron Bure While Affirming the LGBT Community
Church Leaders ^ | December 12th 2022 | Jesse T Jackson

Earlier this year, “Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar gave a testimony of her newly found faith in Christ to her social media followers.

“Hey everyone! I went live today to share the journey I’ve recently embarked on….🙏,” McKellar said in an April Instagram post. “I’m not here to preach, but I have so much love in my heart I just had to share what I’m experiencing, and to share a little why I believe it’s taken me up to this point to begin this journey. ❤️”

McKellar went on to share how Candace Cameron Bure sent her a Bible and invited her to church.

“In my life, starting in childhood, I had been made aware of all the hypocrisy in the various religions of Christianity, it being used for evil, power & control throughout history, and that had definitely biased me. But that’s just people, that doesn’t represent God’s actual love for us,” McKellar recounted.

“And I can tell you I’m experiencing a relationship with God and Jesus that I’ve never had before, and it feels miraculous,” McKellar continued. “And it all started one evening when I was struggling with the idea of forgiveness and DM’d my good friend @candacecbure about a passage from the Bible she had read on her Instastories, and then she sent me a Bible, and invited me to church…🥰 I am wishing all of you the love and freedom I feel in my heart on this journey, and a beautiful Sunday!! ❤️🙏❤️”

Bure, who recently joined Great American Family as Chief Creative Officer after spending the last 10 years at the Hallmark Channel, received criticism for her comments regarding the network’s stance on depicting traditional marriages in movies and shows.

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” Bure said when asked to comment on Hallmark’s LGBTQ love story, “The Holiday Sitter.”

While others were quick to accuse Bure of being a “bigot” and “disgusting,” McKellar, who is one of Bure’s fellow actresses on the Great American Family network, expressed how she felt about the situation in a post on Instagram right before Thanksgiving.

“Wishing you all a beautiful and blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow, filled with joy and connection to those you love. 🧡💛🤎,” McKellar said. “And…I’d like to set the record straight about something. I’m a new Christian, and I’m so grateful for that. 🙏 As I always have, I celebrate all forms of healthy love between adults, and I support representation.”

“I was thrilled to have a role in a couple episodes of Home Economics earlier this year, and my husband and I were privileged to attend my good friend’s beautiful wedding to his husband earlier this year in Mexico,” McKellar continued. “At the time, we commented that it was one of the purest expressions of love we had ever seen.”

McKellar expressed, “The idea that Christianity would judge any form of love simply baffles me. I’m still new to my faith journey, but as far as I can tell, Jesus loves and includes everyone. That’s kind of His thing…”

A few weeks later, McKellar responded to the news of Great American Family co-star Neal Bledsoe announcing his exit from the network in response to Bure’s traditional family comment. McKellar stars alongside Bledsoe in Great American Family’s “Christmas at the Drive-In.”

“Neal is a wonderful person. He’s such a great actor and I have enjoyed working with him so much. He and I both share our love and support of the LGBT community for sure,” McKellar told Fox News Digital. “I don’t agree with his interpretation of her comments. I just didn’t see them the same way.”

McKellar shared that the “Full House” star started her statement “with ‘I think,’ which is not definitive, and she ended it with ‘at its core,’ which doesn’t mean exclusively. I don’t agree with his interpretation, but I love him to death and I wish him well.”

Bledsoe explained in a statement to Variety why he left the network: “My life wouldn’t be where it is today without the love, support, and guidance of the LGBTQIA+ community. From my mentors in college, to the myriad of agents and managers, writers and directors, teachers and colleagues, and, of course, my dear friends and family, who have all touched my life, I owe them a great debt.”

“As someone who struggled as a young man with our society’s extremely narrow definition of masculinity, it was their community that provided me with refuge and a guiding light when my life felt lost,” he continued. “And now, if I cannot stand up for that community in their time of need, my debt to them means nothing. So, I want to be very clear: my support for the LGBTQIA+ community is unconditional—nothing is worth my silence or their ability to live and love freely in a world that we are lucky enough to share with them.”

In an Instagram post, he wrote, “I was raised as a Christian, and believe in the essential message of love and forgiveness. That said, I could never forgive myself for continuing my relationship with a network that actively chooses to exclude the LGBTQIA+ community.”

Trying to appease “both” sides, she’ll lose “both”.

Why do those preening, prancing ponces, poofters, pansies need “affirmation”?

Isn’t their “pride” enough affirmation for their tender egos?

I truly hope Danica McKellar has found faith in Christ, but she still has a lot of growing to do if she supports that which is clearly and unequivocally described by Scripture as abominable to holy God.

Let’s hope McKellar learns more scripture. She’s actually a for-real mathematical genius, so she ought to figure this out, by God’s grace.

When I read this a few weeks ago, my first thought was that this guy knew what he was getting into when he joined the Great America Family network. He seems like a planted activist who was waiting for the right moment to seize on the opportunity to exploit a comment for maximum negative effect.

“Jesus loves and includes everyone. That’s kind of His thing…” Good point. No one can live without His love and no one wants to live without His love. The punishment for rejecting His love is to live without His love forever.

No straight man in the world is interested in any homosexual “romance”. All TV shows and movies are polluted with same-sex propaganda.

If I am not mistaken, Danica is somewhat of a Smarty Pants. And I mean that in a good way. SHE is brilliant.
I think she is MIT smart and she is a lovely person and a reasonably good actress.

Candace is...well, Candace. An extremely Christian woman. And she left Hallmark when they went weird and I think she influenced many others to come with her to Great American Family, 326 on DirecTV.

We just watched a Hallmark Christmas movie where God was mentioned so much that we were shocked.

I think Hallmark had lost viewers who switched to GAF.

But tonight’s movie indicates they may have some regrets.

She needs to watch Becket Cooks youtube channel. Former gay in Hollywood, miraculous conversion story. He doesn’t mince words or equivocate.

If this is true, Danica will need to witness to - or fire her nasty manager; she’s a piece of genuine Hollywood vitriol who has likely sabotaged Danica in ways that she has no idea about. I bitched to Dan Lauria about her and he said “I know”.

It sounds like she is just another fake christian who makes up her own God instead of believing God is what the bible says he is. Without the bible there is not such thing as Christianity.

Jesus loves and includes everyone.

So very true.
Also true: He said “Go and sin no more...”

“It sounds like she is just another fake christian”

Maybe more like a new Christian who has a lot of growing to do. Having been entrenched in the Hollywood Cesspool her entire life, she has a lot to unlearn.

Strong faithful witness friends, and involvement in a serious fundamental church will be necessary.

A preacher friend of mine, Bob Sumner, wrote “Hollywood Cesspool” back in the ‘50s. I can’t imagine what he would think about the place if he were alive today. He died in 2016, so did get a taste of how bad it is, but it’s even worse since then.

Jesus loves everyone. But if we put our hand on a hot stove, he wants us to take it off rather than keep burning down to a place of irrevocable damage.
