Judy Garland singing 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'. Picture: Loew's, Inc. ************************************************************** Did you know ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ could have had very different words? A glimpse into the journey the famous Christmas song has been on… ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ is the musical equivalent of a warm hug; a gently melancholic melody sings out a narrative of festive hope, telling of a nostalgia for past times – “happy golden days of yore” – but faith in the future – “From now on, our troubles will be out of sight”. Judy Garland, the shining star...

By now millions of Americans well-informed about the pandemic know that the cheap, safe and effective generic medicine ivermectin (IVM) was blocked for wide-scale use from the very beginning by the federal government. It was a critical but medically wrong tactic within the wait-for-the-vaccine strategy. Preventing early use of IVM has surely killed and harmed hundreds of thousands of Americans. A few courageous doctors have successfully been using IVM during the pandemic, but most feared punishment as they lost their medical freedom. Now comes a mind-boggling statement from an attorney defending the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in a lawsuit...

An increase of 416.5% in job cuts. Today, the US Personal Consumption Expenditures data was released. It shows that the CORE PCE YoY fell to a still high 5%. If The Fed...

...David Scott, a U of I freshman, lives in an apartment off campus. He told the Statesman he’s been looking into various self-defense options since the stabbings. Scott said it takes him about 30 minutes to walk to campus, which he usually does early in the morning before the sun rises. After attending classes and working a part-time job at the university, he heads back home, often when it’s already dark outside. There's been chatter for some time now about Sen. Mike Braun's (R-IN) next move. Braun was first elected in 2018, beating out one-term incumbent, then Sen. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat. Rather than run for reelection, though, it's looking more likely that he'll run for governor to replace term-limited Eric Holcomb, a Republican who's considered something of a RINO. As POLITICO's Adam Wren reported on Wednesday, Braun filed paperwork to run for governor on Tuesday. When it comes to who will fill Braun's seat, that could very likely be Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), who there's been just as much chatter about....

NATIONAL PIE DAY Each year on December 1st, dessert lovers across the United States enjoy a slice of their favorite on National Pie Day. Pie is so delicious we celebrate it twice a year. The more popular date is January 23rd. #NationalPieDay While it might be the lesser of the two celebrated PIE days (don’t forget National Pi Day on March 14th), it happens to fall smack dab in the middle of a major pie-making season. Take away ice cream as a dessert choice, and most people are either cake people or pie people. Or, to put it another way,...

Good morning everyone. Some weeks ago, I posted on the Daily Mail website that Ann Heche basically got what she deserved for being a drug user and ending up wrecking her car and dying from the burns suffered. I got a message saying I was permanently banned from posting on the website. I have been so busy at work that I haven't had time to respond here to the bunch over there. So, DM, you don't like what I have to write? You thought that no response would be possible since you banned me from the site. Well, you were...

If You Really Wanted to Destroy the United States, Then . . .It would be hard to imagine any planned agenda to destroy America that would have been as injurious as what we already suffered the last two years. First, you would surrender our prior energy independence. Reduce new gas and oil leases on federal lands to the lowest levels of any president in history. Cut back production at precisely the time the world is emerging from a two-year lockdown with pent-up consumer demand. Make war on coal and nuclear power. Drain the strategic petroleum reserve to make the pain...
