Former Vice President Al Gore has likened climate change deniers to the Uvalde cops who stood by and did nothing as a school massacre unfolded. In a Meet The Press interview that will air on Sunday, Gore told Chuck Todd: 'You know the climate deniers are really in some ways similar to all of those almost 400 law enforcement officers in Uvalde, Texas, who were waiting outside an unlocked door while the children were being massacred. Gore - worth an estimated $300 million thanks to his green investment fund Generation Investment Management - added: 'They heard the screams, they heard...

Texas is one of only 10 states with no limitations on campaign donations to candidates, and as a result, a few wealthy donors with strong religious views have an outsized influence on the government for approximately 30 million people. In a state known for its independence, Texas is usually at the forefront of legislation – and its conservative Republicans...

A New York man was released from jail without bail hours after he tried to stab Rep. Lee Zeldin (R., N.Y.), a foregone conclusion because of a bail reform law passed in 2019. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office in Rochester, N.Y., charged David Jakubonis with attempted second-degree assault and released him before his trial, according to a Thursday press release. Jakubonis, an Iraq war veteran who was inebriated, used a small weapon with two sharp prongs to assault Zeldin, telling the representative, "You're done," when he swung at him during a campaign speech for veterans in Perinton. "After being charged...

Former President Donald Trump Saturday hinted at a 2024 presidential run in a speech full of culture war rhetoric and attacks on his political enemies, including President Biden, the January 6 Committee and more. (snip) Teasing his own possible 2024 run, Trump said Saturday that he won the 2016 election, falsely claimed he won the 2020 election, and said, "now we may just have to do it again." "If I stayed home, if I announced that I was not going to run for office, the persecution of Donald Trump would immediately stop," Trump also said later in the speech. "But...

Defenders of federal officials, including President Biden, who declared one year ago that people who received the COVID-19 vaccines would not contract the disease argue "the science" changes over time. But the White House coronavirus response coordinator at the time the vaccines were developed and rolled out said in an interview Friday she wasn't surprised that people who were quadruple vaccinated, including Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci, contracted the disease.

Everything about the left is equalizing differences. An attractive woman will attract a man, who many be willing to risks including marrying her in order to have sex with her. An unattractive woman does not get that same option of a man who will marry her if she gets pregnant. So, by having abortion legal, it removes that risk of her getting pregnant and increases her options of having sex with any man that would have sex with her. It's basically a tradeoff of getting a little bit of attention by agreeing to remove the risk of a permanent bond...

A member of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee warned that bio-weapons are being made that use a target's DNA to only kill that person. Speaking at the Aspen Security Forum on Friday, US Rep Jason Crow of Colorado warned Americans to not be so cavalier about sharing their DNA with private companies due to the coming of the new type of weapon Earlier this week the Washington Examiner reported on just how easy it could be for privately-owned databases to be used to develop bioweapons such as the ones touted by Crow. The publication explained how DNA belonging to a...

The Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade inspired an outpouring of grief, anguish and political opprobrium from feminists and abortion rights supporters. [Including from] Dave Portnoy, the media mogul and Barstool Sports president better known for his viral pizza reviews, unrepentant aggro-masculinity and social media trolling than for pro-choice activism (or, for that matter, critique of originalist legal theory). Last summer, I wrote about how Portnoy’s particular brand of transgressive boorishness served as an inspiration to Republican politicians eager to capitalize on the backlash to newly established progressive social norms around things like gender pronoun usage and diversity, equity...

Unattractive women who “look like a thumb” shouldn’t complain about losing abortion rights because they’re the “least” likely to get pregnant, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said in a jaw-dropping speech to college students at a conservative conference in Florida on Saturday. “Have you watched these pro-abortion, pro-murder rallies?” Gaetz asked the crowd at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa. “The people are just disgusting. Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions?” Video of the speech has received at least one million views on...

. . . Do we need still another Watergate book?” *** The Post also credits Graff’s “prodigious research,” while echoing his conclusion that “we’ll never know the full truth of Watergate” ... If observations like these are used to justify a new 679-page history, one may ask, why bother? Why read a book that throws up its hands and says, “Who knows? One answer comes in Graff’s treatment of two seminal revisionist works, Jim Hougan’s 1984 Secret Agenda and Len Colodny’s 1991 Silent Coup. These two works, in fact, solve quite convincingly many of the mysteries Graff contends are still...

From the 1980's onwards, the U.S. mortality rate started falling behind its peers. By 2019, the number of missing Americans had grown to 626,000. After COVID arrived, that statistic ballooned even further—to 992,000 in 2020, and to 1.1 million in 2021. Were the U.S. just average compared to other wealthy countries, not even the best performer, fully a third of all deaths last year would have been prevented. That includes half of all deaths among working-age adults. Think of two people you might know under 65 who died last year: One of them might still be alive. These counterfactuals puncture...

Jewelry thieves struck a heavily-guarded truck outside Los Angeles this month and made off with tens of millions of dollars in gems. The burglars descended on a Brink's Security vehicle in the wee hours of July 11 at about 2 a.m. After two security guards, both armed, stepped away from the truck for a few minutes, the robbers made their move. The group of men made off with containers full of gems and gold that totaled in the tens of millions of dollars. The robbers pulled off the entire stunt in less than half an hour. "We are looking at...

When was the last time you took Alka Seltzer? I'm not talking about the cold and flu medicine, but the good old tried and true Alka Seltzer that's been around since 1931.Yesterday I ate some nachos. With jalapenos. Lots of jalapenos. Used to be - this was not a problem with me. But today I've had a sour stomach and indigestation. Plop plop, fizz fizz. Oh what a relief it is.Taking two Alka Seltzer immediately solved my problem. Sometimes (oftentimes) the old remedies work best.Enjoy these old commercials you grew up with. The best commerical ever.
