Gas prices have gone through the roof and are promising to get worse. The President of the United States, deeply beholden to the green Left, steadfastly refuses to reverse the extensive damage he has done to the domestic oil industry, and instead goes hat in hand to Saudi Arabia to plead with the leaders of the state he once called a “pariah” to lower oil prices. They refuse. The president’s administration has mounted disquieting initiatives to restrict the freedom of speech and brand law-abiding Americans as terrorists while sending billions to Ukraine in the teeth of the economic suffering of...

A Minneapolis mom was captured on video Saturday confronting Black Lives Matter activists who congregated in her neighborhood to protest the fatal police shooting of a gunman who she claimed tried to kill her and her children. Arabella Foss-Yarbrough called police last Wednesday night after neighbor Andrew “Tekle” Sundberg allegedly fired his gun into her home as she cooked her kids dinner, leaving bullet holes in her front door, walls and above her bathroom sink, photos show. Two Minneapolis police snipers shot him dead Thursday morning after a long standoff. A pistol with an extended magazine and several bullet casings...

While New Yorkers are reeling from sky-high gas prices that force them to choose between driving to work, a trip to the store or a family vacation, Gov. Kathy Hochul has been hitching rides on their dime and avoiding traffic altogether by flying to most places. The governor hit the friendly skies, either on a state helicopter or airplane, a whopping 140 times in the first seven months since she took office last August — with costs to taxpayers estimated at upwards of $170,000, records reviewed by The Post show. “The governor’s personal frequent-flyer program is immune to things like...

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New legislation regarding bicycle safety will come into effect as Gov. Kathy Hochul takes measures that will require new drivers to learn about pedestrian and bicycle safety when on the road. This new requirement will be apart of new drivers pre-licensing exam and will be a prerequisite to obtaining any motor vehicle license. "My top priority as Governor is to keep New Yorkers safe, and it is common sense to make pedestrian and bike safety education mandatory for drivers," Governor Hochul said in a statement. "This law will help prevent crashes and save lives, and I thank...

ALBANY — Gov. Hochul is facing political pressure to appoint a progressive jurist to the state’s highest court following the sudden resignation of Chief Judge Janet DiFiore. Critics contend that DiFiore, who stepped down amid reports of a state ethics probe, led a conservative bloc of four judges that pushed the seven-member Court of Appeals to the right ideologically. Lawmakers and advocates are hoping that Hochul will take the opportunity to appoint someone with a broader understanding of how the criminal justice system impacts minority and low-income New Yorkers, or someone with a public defender background to lead the courts.

The mass looting phenomenon reached the wealthy celebrity haven of Malibu, California, last week, when a gang looted nearly half a million dollars worth of luxury goods from the Malibu Lumberyard shopping center in broad daylight. The Malibu Times reported: A crew of six Black male and female suspects, wearing masks and hoodies entered the luxury goods store Maxfield on Tuesday July 12 at 2 p.m. The robbers pushed past the store’s security guard and grabbed armloads of “high-end” designer handbags. The crew then quickly raced out of the store and across Cross Creek Road and were seen getting into...

ALBANY, N.Y. (WROC) — New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed new legislation Friday, banning smoking on all state-owned beaches and most public parks. According to the governor’s office, smoking in these designated areas will be punishable with a civil fine of $50. The legislation goes into effect 90 days from the July 15 signing. “Smoking is a dangerous habit that affects not only the smoker but everyone around them, including families and children enjoying our state’s great public places,” Hochul said. “I’m proud to sign this legislation that will protect New Yorker’s health and help reduce litter in public parks...

Tendril-ly, Cthulhu-looking beigeish-pinkish sea creature extends its tentacles in a clump against the dark ocean. This sea pen was an unexpected find in the Pacific Ocean by the crew of the E/V Nautilus. E/V Nautilus; video screenshot by Amanda Kooser/CNET I'll admit, I'd never heard of a Solumbellula sea pen until today, when I saw a tweet from the Exploration Vessel Nautilus showing an intriguing tentacle-y creature with a long thin stalk reaching down to the ocean floor. I was immediately enchanted. The Nautilus team called it "a thrilling discovery." The sea pen made its appearance during a visit by...

The New York Times Magazine is getting in front of estimates that the U.S. GDP contracted again in the second quarter by slamming the country’s “obsession” with economic growth. The Times Magazine published an asinine interview with leftist economist Herman Daly headlined: “This Pioneering Economist Says Our Obsession With Growth Must End.” “Growth is the be-all and end-all of mainstream economic and political thinking,” Times Magazine staff writer David Marchese wrote in the introduction section. “Without a continually rising G.D.P., we’re told, we risk social instability, declining standards of living and pretty much any hope of progress.” What if, Marchese...

Freshly transitioned to a woman, Leslie Roberson tasted the sweet thrill of womanhood this morning as she absolutely smashed her car into a curb. "Whew! Sure feel like a woman now!" shouted Leslie with glee. "Better take the car into a mechanic now and get taken advantage of. This is great!" Previously known as Bob, the newly minted "Leslie" had grown tired of deciding where to go to eat and being comfortable at ambient temperatures. "I just wasn't living my truth," said Leslie, turning down the thermostat. "Now I can take a hundred blankets with me everywhere I go and...

If the Florida governor can get past Donald Trump in 2024, he will prove something important about himself. Ron DeSantis has a Donald Trump problem. How he solves it -- if he can -- will be the first test of an important aspect of presidential character. Let us assume -- as is widely assumed, but as yet unannounced -- that DeSantis would like to run for president in 2024. Many across the Republican spectrum would like to see him do so. The trick is that DeSantis needs to wrest the Republican nomination away from Trump, either by defeating him or,...

I am glad to be alive after a bout with dengue fever. But many across the world are not so fortunate. More than 4000 die each year due to dengue, a severe mosquito-borne disease. It all began 10 days ago with intense fever. My body consistently clocked above 102 degrees Fahrenheit for 48 hours. Then followed severe pain in every part of the body. Once the fever and aching subsided, the second phase of the struggle began, with the blood platelet count falling dramatically. Often, as in my case, the blood platelet count recovers on its own slowly. But in...

Police footage captures the moment a Florida county official was pulled over in June for speeding in his Ferrari while attempting to slyly get out of the ticket by stating 'I run the county.' Flagler County Commission Chairman Joe Mullins was spotted being pulled over for speeding in his red Ferrari for what appeared to be the second time, Fox 29 reported. The police car dash cam captured the moments when the officer pulled him over on Interstate 95 - including the moment he interrupted the officer to make his professional title known. The footage shows the unknown officer following...

As searing Texas heat drives power demand to record highs, the state’s grid operator is ordering plants to run at a historic pace, often forcing them to put off maintenance to keep cranking out electricity. That’s helped keep the lights on, for now, but the short-term focus is putting even more stress on a system that’s already stretched near the limit. Twice in the past week, officials have called on Texans to limit electricity use during scorching afternoons as demand inched perilously close to overwhelming supply. Now, there are growing concerns over how long power plants can maintain the grueling...

Joe Biden repeatedly promised on the campaign trail that he would “shut down the virus,” yet, despite inheriting a few vaccines and a year’s worth of research and understanding of the virus, cases and deaths surged multiple times, and more Americans died on his watch than under Trump. For most people, the pandemic is essentially over, and they just want things to return to normal. But the Biden administration is not ready for normal. On Sunday, Dr. Ashish Jha, Joe Biden’s COVID-19 coordinator, appeared on ABC’s “This Week,” during which he “reminded” people that the pandemic isn’t over yet and...

In another Democrat narrative-debunking situation, a law-abiding citizen carrying a firearm stopped a shooting in progress at a mall food court in Indiana over the weekend — and is likely to be ignored by most within the mainstream media despite overwhelming praise from leaders in the community. In a Greenwood, Indiana, mall — roughly 15 miles south of Indianapolis — a man armed with a rifle opened fire on Sunday evening in the food court, fatally shooting three individuals and wounding two others. But then, a "a good Samaritan with a handgun," according to Greenwood police Chief James Ison, put...
