In another Democrat narrative-debunking situation, a law-abiding citizen carrying a firearm stopped a shooting in progress at a mall food court in Indiana over the weekend — and is likely to be ignored by most within the mainstream media despite overwhelming praise from leaders in the community.
In a Greenwood, Indiana, mall — roughly 15 miles south of Indianapolis — a man armed with a rifle opened fire on Sunday evening in the food court, fatally shooting three individuals and wounding two others. But then, a "a good Samaritan with a handgun," according to Greenwood police Chief James Ison, put the shooter down.
The bystander, identified as a 22-year-old who was in the food court when the shooting started, "was able to stop this shooter almost as soon as he began." Ison added. "The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court," he said at a press conference.

it is a gun free zone. he had a lawful gun. He didnt break the law by entering the mall but they could have thrown him out
I read on another site that he was supposedly in violation of mall policy, but no proof of this was provided that I could see. To me it seems likely though.
Does anyone know if he was constitutionally carrying or did he have a ccw permit?

What I was wondering. But, as usual, if it was concealed how would they know to throw him/her out? What is an ‘unlawful gun’ anyway? 🙂
They have a sign out front saying no firearms permitted on Mall property, wife goes there all the time and drags me along usually.
Here in Indiana you can ignore the sign unless they see it and then ask you to leave, if you don’t the cops can ticket you for trespassing is all.
Wife and I were at the Regal movie theater that sits directly across from Dicks entrance, where the shooting took place but we were gone at 5.
You can believe this will increase 10 fold the number of guns carried by shoppers around here now, especially when the mayor backs them up like this. Combined with the Constitutional Carry law that went into effect the July 1 we are going to be awash with armed citizens here now.

So Indiana is now constitutional carry. Awesome. One would think a state like NevaDUH would be also but nope. Of course open carry is fine. Which I would avoid if I had any firearms that I wanted to carry. 😵💫🙂
One news report said it was a 20 year old male. Reporter said he knew the identity of the shooter but wasn’t releasing it.

I’d be interested in the forensics on the bullets removed from the victims to see if there was a crossfire victim. Greenwood Mall food court is a very chaotic and busy place. It’s surprising that he was able to get a clean shot.
I’ve never been a gun owner; never even particularly liked them.
But as I was sitting in church yesterday, it occurred to me that if a gunman bursts in here right now, we’re all sitting ducks.
I hope to God that someone in the congregation is lawfully carrying. Maybe hoping isn’t enough. Maybe I need to be that person. Food for thought.

one of the people in the building said they pounded on his door with an assault rifle in hand and told him to get out. they were kept out for about 2 hours. they arrived with a bomb squad

Every time you leave your house you make a choice - to be a sheep, or to be a sheepdog. Granted it’s nearly impossible to be a sheepdog 100% of the time….but it’s still a choice.
