Technological innovation always drives disruption, creates fear and panic among powerful incumbents and forces the globally connected to lock arms in defense of their supremacy. This isn’t theory, conjecture or hypothesis, it’s merely a truth observed and recorded over thousands of years of history. This very short video clip perfectly explains how technological disruption eventually breaks through barriers of resistance. FUD is an acronym that stands for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. FUD is used in many forms to distract, divert, diminish and discourage the general public from understanding truth, embracing change, making rational/objective decisions to alter the “status quo” and/or...

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that a program of the city of Boston that allows outside groups to fly flags at city hall must permit the flying of flag with a cross that a camp referred to as a "Christian flag." The question before the court was whether flying the flag as part of a government program was considered government speech if the flag belonged to a private organization, in this case, Camp Constitution. The Supreme Court ruled that it is not. "We conclude that, on balance, Boston did not make the raising and flying of private groups’ flags a...

Five-time, best-selling financial author James G. Rickards says, “We could be in a recession right now,” but the title of his most recent book “The New Great Depression” says where we are definitely going soon. Rickards says, “The current crisis is not like 2008 or even 1929. The New Depression that has emerged from the COVID pandemic is the worst economic crisis in U.S. history. Most fired employees will remain redundant. Bankruptcies will be common, and banks will buckle under the weight of bad debts. Deflation, debt and demography will wreck any chance of recovery, and social disorder will follow...

The climactic sequence of the movie features an action sequence of over 20 minutes in which characters battle amid scaffolding around the Statue of Liberty. When Sony refused to delete the statue from the movie, Chinese authorities asked if the company could diminish the statue’s presence. Sony considered the request, the sources told Puck, but ultimately decided against editing the movie and did not release it in China. It’s unclear whether Chinese censors blocked the movie’s release or if Sony preemptively opted against releasing it. The third Spider-Man installment with actor Tom Holland in the lead role grossed close $1.9...

Heba Kim is strong enough to lift 50kg slabs of beef and pork, deft enough to tease out the best cuts in meat, and chill enough to take in her stride the prejudices she sometimes faces as a woman butcher. When you think of butchers, images of burly men in singlets and bloodied aprons wielding huge cleavers often come to mind. So when I meet Heba Kim, I am pleasantly surprised. The petite Korean woman is a certified butcher – as well as the head chef of The Butcher’s Dining, a premium Korean butcher, grocery store and cafe in one. Kim...

Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended President Biden's plan to phase out fossil fuels in the US military, saying "there are a lot of overlooked advantages of an all green army and navy. One of the key vulnerabilities of the modern fighting force is its fuel supplies. As we have seen in the Ukraine-Russia war fuel storage facilities can be bombed by drones. If tanks can't get fuel they're immobilized." "Then there's the problem of onboard fuel exploding after being hit by incoming rockets and bullets," Psaki pointed out. "If these vehicles were solar powered this risk could be significantly diminished....

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled today that the city of Boston, Massachusetts wrongly banned Christian flags from a community flag program. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver presented oral argument in January to the U.S. Supreme Court in Shurtleff v. City of Boston, arguing that the City of Boston violated the Constitution by censoring a Christian flag in a public forum open to “all applicants” merely because the application referred to it as a “Christian flag.” There are three flagpoles outside City Hall that fly the U.S., Massachusetts and Boston flags, plus a fourth flag on Congress Street, which...

There are two parts to the controller’s job, Malia Cohen says. There are the everyday functions — writing checks, conducting audits, making policy recommendations and serving on nearly 80 boards, including ones that oversee state employee retirement funds. But Cohen says the position is also a platform to make California more equitable and to promote more diverse leadership — goals that she is passionate, even emotional, about and a role that she says she is well prepared for from her time on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and state Board of Equalization.

If anyone needs evidence that leftists are suffering from a strong delusion about the policies they’ve put in place in Democrat hellhole cities like San Francisco, we need only look at reactions to the skyrocketing crime. Perhaps an easier way to look at it is to highlight what Democrats have NOT done in their cities, namely give law enforcement the authority they used to enjoy that allowed them to actually stop crimes. Here’s modern-day San Francisco in a nutshell: Another Walgreens in San Francisco is hit by looters. Walgreens already closed 5 locations in San Francisco due to theft. pic.twitter.com/yrFrXekeio...

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany—Within days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, U.S. European Command stood up a 24/7 operations center to coordinate the rapid delivery of defense assistance from dozens of nations to the front line inside Ukraine. For the first time, the Defense Department described how the EUCOM Control Center Ukraine (ECCU) works during a briefing for journalists covering the Ukraine Defense Consultative Workshop at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on April 26, signaling a rapid evolution to changing battlefield needs. “Quite simply, it’s a near soup-to-nuts of all things security systems [to be] delivered,” a senior defense official said...

Israel has summoned the Russian ambassador and demanded an apology over remarks by the Kremlin foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, that Adolf Hitler “had Jewish blood” and that the “most rabid antisemites tend to be Jews”. The remarks were part of Lavrov’s defence of Russia’s policy of “denazification” in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s term for a sweeping purge that Ukraine says is a pretext for “mass murder.” In an interview with Italian TV, Lavrov was asked to address how Russia could say it needed to “denazify” the country when its president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, is Jewish. “As to [Zelenskiy’s] argument of what kind...

MEMORIAL OF SAINT ATHANASIUS, BISHOP AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH JOHN 6:22-29 Friends, in today’s Gospel, the crowd that experienced the miracle of the loaves pursues Jesus to see more wonders. They finally track him down in the synagogue in the lakeside town of Capharnaum. When they ask Jesus how he had got there ahead of them, the Lord chides them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for...

Many in the Catholic media tend to cover-up for Pope Francis either by putting the best possible interpretation on his actions or else by failing to report news that might be damaging to his image. One of the main stories that the Catholic media covers-up is that a debate has arisen among Catholics as to whether or not Francis is really the pope. Since those who claim that he is not the pope constitute a small minority, the Catholic media has, by-and-large, chosen to avoid the topic. It’s a hot-potato issue and those who get caught on the wrong side...

WASHINGTON — A jury on Monday convicted a former New York City police officer for assaulting a D.C. police officer during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Thomas Webster, a 56-year-old retired NYPD officer was found guilty of all six counts of assault and civil disorder. The jury began deliberating late on Friday evening and returned a verdict by Monday morning. Webster tried to convince the jury that a D.C. police officer instigated a fight. His attorney said Webster showed "restraint," and Webster testified that he grabbed the officer's gas mask so that the officer could "see my...
