Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended President Biden's plan to phase out fossil fuels in the US military, saying "there are a lot of overlooked advantages of an all green army and navy. One of the key vulnerabilities of the modern fighting force is its fuel supplies. As we have seen in the Ukraine-Russia war fuel storage facilities can be bombed by drones. If tanks can't get fuel they're immobilized."
"Then there's the problem of onboard fuel exploding after being hit by incoming rockets and bullets," Psaki pointed out. "If these vehicles were solar powered this risk could be significantly diminished. Naval vessels that need fossil fuels are similarly disadvantaged. Fuel supplies could be destroyed or serve as an accelerant to any incoming shells or rockets. If ships were wind-powered the 'fuel' would be in the air, could not be bombed, and wouldn't be a significant accelerant to strikes on the vessels. The fact that the wind is freely available should also lower the cost for sending ships to different parts of the world."
"Right now the plans are conceptual in nature," the Press Secretary noted. "There are a lot of practical problems to work out. Doubtless, it will be a long road before our forces can go totally green, but if we never start the journey we can never hope to arrive. The President believes that future wars must be as pollution-free as possible. He is determined to do everything in his power to make that happen."

Can’t wait to see the battery powered aircraft....that’s really gonna be something
So don't count me as anti-green or whatever when I tell you that the idea of the military going green is frightening.
Helicopter beanies for all!
What about night operations?
Seriously, USN CVNs are already green... NUCLEAR POWER, baby!
An opposing army could probably smell the new “diverse” army by the smell from anal leakage. That is a small part of the “green” desire from the current administration.
Fuel all of our military equipment with unicorn poop!
The only thing “green” about the Army should be the color of their uniforms....in a sane world.
Maybe not a good example. A “battery powered aircraft” might be a good idea. At least as a drone. Probably a lower heat signature and less noise? Probably not longevity in the sky. Who knows.
Anyway, implementing tech because it is a better solution vs because it doesn’t pollute as much is stupid. Because, a poorly designed and implemented weapon means that your soldiers, ya know the humans defending you, are more likely to die.
You’ve really captured Psaki’s essence.
The ChiComs are going just the opposite tack.
Converting civilian cars to electric powered by additional coal fired power plants and keeping the good stuff for the military.
Idiots, all of these subhuman oil and gas extremists. Can anyone that’s been in combat feel safe about what these climate goof’s think. This is not realistic and I think they just throw this stuff out there to tease us.
