Do I have any fellow Lefty or Humanist friends who will join me in condemning Censorship and fighting for Free Speech? Or have you abandoned your principles for political expediency? Am I forced to join the Right because they are the only side that is now brave enough to stand up for the values that used to be considered Progressive?
Here is a partial list of the values and principles that were once considered Left/Progressive but are now being rejected by the modern Left Establishment. Some are even being called ‘right-wing’ now:
– Pro-Free Speech
– Pro-Government Transparency
– Anti-Revolving Door (when people go back & forth between government and industry lobbying)
– Anti-Regulatory Capture (when private industries control the government agencies that are supposed to be regulating them)
– Anti-Conflict of Interest (when government officials personally benefit from their policy decisions)
– Anti-Monopoly
– Anti-Censorship
– Pro-Working Class
– Anti-Elitism
– Anti-Authoritarianism
– Pro-Individualism
– Pro-Medical Freedom
– Pro-Freedom in general (now the Left mocks it as “FreeDumb”)
– Anti-Racial Segregation
– Anti-Discrimination
– Pro-Due Process
– Pro-Viewpoint Diversity
– Pro-Biological Reality
– Pro-Female-only Spaces (where they won’t have to worry about someone twice their size waving a dick in their face)
– Pro-Multiculturalism (instead of condemning it as “appropriation”)
– Pro-Election Integrity/Transparency
Hmm, were my Progressive and Humanist friends full of shit the whole time they were promoting these values? Now that the corporate Left has become the Establishment (with near iron-grip control of Federal Gov’t, Media, Academia, Big Tech, and Entertainment industries) and has the power to oppress, they seem to be taking a page from author Frank Herbert, who had one of his ‘Dune’ characters utter this admission:
“When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.”
