Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that officials “have real concerns” that Russia could use chemical weapons during its invasion of Ukraine, even though Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called Russian threats a “bluff.” During an appearance on CNN on Tuesday, Blinken was asked how real the risk was for the conflict in Ukraine to turn into a nuclear war.

Scott Charmoli's patients' teeth were just fine, but fine wasn't making him enough money. So the dentist in Jackson, Wis., drilled into and broke his patients' teeth in order to charge them for fixing the damage he'd caused, according to federal prosecutors. By doing so, Charmoli went from pulling in $1.4 million and affixing 434 crowns in 2014 to raking in $2.5 million and performing more than 1,000 crown procedures a year later.

There is nothing as specious as a a pontificating politician. Take James-no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case-Comey for example; here he is preaching the benefits of “deterrence” to us. But the Jan. 6 investigation is mostly about something you might not think about much in your normal caseload: general deterrence. It is about sending a message—a shock wave of deterrence—so future Americans, whether misled by a lying demagogue or rightfully concerned about the loss of their rights, never again assault the institutions of government. That means that even those who “merely” trespassed by following the crowd inside must...

As Ed pointed out earlier today, it’s already obvious how insane it is (the appropriate word) for the United States to be offering sanctions relief to Russia in the middle of a war in exchange for getting Iran to sign off on a meaningless and largely unenforceable deal. That’s particularly true when you consider that Iran just dropped a number of missiles around one of our facilities in Iraq. But it’s not just pundits and foreign leaders who are confused by the Biden strategy (to put it charitably) in these negotiations. ---SNIP--- You’ll notice that she repeats variations of the...

t's hardly the first time mask and vaccine mandates have proved confusingly illogical, but the scene that played out at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn over the weekend put an exclamation point on two years of back-and-forth guidance that sidelined those who choose not to get vaccinated or go along with the theatrics COVID has wrought. Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving attended Saturday's game to support his teammates and was free to enjoy the game...but only from his courtside seat rather than his team's bench. Because Irving has chosen not to get vaccinated, a New York City mandate for private...

Sometimes, events in the news become instant comedy without even trying. This is one of those times. A logo for the "Women's Network" feminist group in Australia has been yanked after being mercilessly mocked for its apparent likeness to male genitalia. "Some things you simply cannot make up," noted Hailey Sanibel at Blue State Conservative. "If the Babylon Bee had produced a logo for a dyed-in-the-wool feminist organization and meant to subvert it, it could not have a done a better job."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Congress for help directly Wednesday, telling US lawmakers "we need you right now" as he invoked tragedies in American history like the attack on Pearl Harbor and the September 11 terrorist attack. Zelensky addressed President Joe Biden directly in the historic speech, "You are the leader of your grand nation. I wish you to be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace," he said at the conclusion of his remarks, which were met with a standing ovation from lawmakers.

The third week of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is covered in the fog of war and that can be confusing. In this episode we investigate some of the Russian claims of victories and advances around the country to avoid falling into a cognitive bias trap. I suggest that we're living in a bubble thanks to the social media platforms that are pushing us more of what we want to see and not what we need to see.

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Monday came out against the nomination of Sarah Bloom Raskin for a top position on the Federal Reserve, saying that he's "unable" to support Raskin over her stance on inflation and energy costs. "I have carefully reviewed Sarah Bloom Raskin's qualifications and previous public statements," Manchin said in a statement. "Her previous public statements have failed to satisfactorily address my concerns about the critical importance of financing an all-of-the-above energy policy to meet our nation's critical energy needs," "I have come to the conclusion that I am unable to support her nomination to serve as...

China's ambassador to the US has insisted that the 'sovereignty and territorial integrity' of Kyiv 'must be respected' in the latest example of cracks in Beijing's support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Qin Gang also said 'conflict between Russia and Ukraine does no good for China' in an op-ed in the Washington Post on Tuesday where he sought to clarify Beijing's position on Putin's war. Gang said China would have tried to prevent 'the imminent crisis' had it known of the Kremlin's plans beforehand and warned that 'the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter must be fully observed'.

The Biden administration is considering providing Ukraine with U.S.-made killer drones — cutting-edge guided missiles that could accurately target Russian tanks and artillery positions from miles away — two congressional officials briefed on the matter told NBC News. No decisions have been made, but the officials said the White House is mulling whether to equip Ukraine with explosives-laden “loitering missiles,” called Switchblades, as part of a new package of military aid President Joe Biden is expected to discuss Wednesday.

Tennis ace Daniil Medvedev and other Russian and Belarusian players may be asked to denounce President Vladimir Putin and his brutal invasion of Russia, if they want to play at Wimbledon this year. The government is in discussion with the All-England Club about the participation of players from the 'pariah states' in this summer's Championships. Sports Minister Nigel Huddleston has revealed that he is actively looking at the requirements that will be placed upon individual athletes in order for them to participate in international events.

Post these on Twitter to show everyone how much you admire strong women and love paying more money for gas and groceries. ================================================================== Presumably because of her inspirational performance as czar of the Southern border crisis, President Joe Biden sent Vice President Kamala Harris to Poland to represent the United States as Europe and NATO grapple with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. That trip resulted in moments like a really awkward outburst of cackling in response to a question about Ukrainian refugees, a reaction Harris has delivered before in response to serious questions about things like the deadly U.S. withdrawal...

A social media account for Vice President Kamala Harris stated Tuesday in a now-deleted tweet that the United States is supporting Ukraine "in defense of the NATO alliance," which the Ukraine is not part of. "When I was in Poland, I met with U.S. and Polish service members, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security," a tweet from the @KamalaHarris account stated. "The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance." The remarks made in the tweet, which featured a photo of Harris greeting American and Polish service...

Ukraine today rejected a Russian peace talk proposal to become 'neutral' like Sweden or Austria and instead demanded guarantees that international forces will 'prevent attacks' in the future. 'Ukraine is now in a direct state of war with Russia. As a result, the model can only be "Ukrainian" and only on legally verified security guarantees,' its top negotiator Mikhailo Podolyak said in comments published by President Volodymyr Zelensky's office. He called for a legally binding security agreement, signed by international partners, who would 'not stand aside in the event of an attack on Ukraine, as they do today.' The Kremlin...
