Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued a mea culpa Friday after he was caught attending an event linked to the Communist Party USA. What is the background? The Connecticut People's World Committee hosted its annual Amistad Awards last Saturday, Dec. 11. Not only did Blumenthal attend the event, but he honored the award winners with "certificates of special recognition" from the United States Senate, according to the Yankee Institute. The problem is: The Connecticut People's World Committee is directly associated with the Communist Party USA, and last Saturday's award ceremony was hosted in honor of the Communist Party USA's 102nd birthday....

Well, the Dow is down 600+ points today. Bloomberg News is blaming 1) Omicron (that we already knew was gaining steam), 2) Manchin saying “No” on Build Back Better (I predict that Senate Democrats will reach an agreement with Manchin to screw over the American people after the new year begins), but not a mention of China real estate debacle or the decline in oil prices. Here is the three day decline in the Dow and the three day decline in West Texas Intermediate Crude futures. Likely declining because of an expected slow down in the economy, partly due to...

Following a crowded day of defense witness testimonies including the questioning of Ms. Espinoza (a former Epstein and Maxwell assistant) and Dr. Loftus, (a false memory expert) Friday’s session would commence rather differently. A lengthy clarification from Judge Nathan pertaining to prior deposition documents (which are related to a defense witness) would open proceedings. Nathan would also inform the defense that they would be required to produce specific documents if another witness is to testify. Maxwell’s lawyer suggested they may call a witness from the UK and a law enforcement witness at a later time. Morning proceedings would continue with...

You can rarely be sure that judicial incompetence will kill people, but Federal District Judge Terry Doughty crossed that line when he issued an injunction blocking the Biden administration's requirement that nursing home personnel be vaccinated for COVID-19.(The injunction, which the administration is appealing, has since been modified by a higher court to apply only in the 14 states that sued.) This week, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch produced something worse than incompetence. A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that nursing home patients are far more likely to die of COVID if there are many...

Kiddie criminals in Los Angeles accused of serious crimes are set to get a pass under new rules from District Attorney George Gascon. The Los Angeles County District Attorney will expand its “restorative justice” diversion programs for youths to include those facing charges like burglary, arson, robber and even sexual battery, among other crimes, according to a leaked memo from the DA’s office. Diversion programs are a form of pre-trial intervention which allows alleged juveniles to avoid prosecution, conviction — and serious jail time — in favor of more rehabilitative approaches. The DA’s office launched a pilot for the Restorative...

Pushback to two top U.S. health agencies is growing over how officials handled clearing and recommending COVID-19 vaccine boosters. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last month authorized boosters of all three vaccines available in the United States for all adults. Soon after, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended any American 18 or older should get a booster, regardless of prior infection or underlying health conditions. Then, earlier this month, regulators cleared a booster of Pfizer’s shot for 16- and 17-year-olds. The agencies did not convene their vaccine advisory panels before making the major decisions, stoking pushback....
