Like John Belushi from The Blues Brothers, Fed Chair Jerome Powell is saying that the markets lackluster response in terms of bond yields to his “hawkish” announcement yesterday “isn’t his fault.” Federal Reserve boss Jerome Powell appears unperturbed by the fact that longer-term bond yields remain low even as officials lay the ground work for tighter policy and inflation is ticking higher. This stands as something of a contrast to the view expressed back in 2005 by one of Powell’s predecessors. Back then, Fed chief Alan Greenspan described a decline in long-term bond yields even in the face of six...

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A Cape Coral man is banned from flying on United Airlines after failing to comply with the federal mask mandate. Adam Jenne wore a red thong as a mask. He was heading to D.C. from the Fort Lauderdale Airport but got kicked off before the flight could take off. “I think the best way to illustrate absurdity is with absurdity,” said Jenne. This is not the first time he’s tried flying with the red panties as a mask. “Every single flight has been met with different reactions from the flight crew,” said Jenne. “Some with a...

A few updates on the battle to get FDA to release the licensure documents for Pfizer’s vaccine, which will hopefully address most of the inquiries on this matter: 1. The FDA incredibly failed to send a representative to a federal court hearing in this matter on December 14th because of the “FDA’s protocols” regarding COVID-19. Meaning, despite the federal health agencies’ compliance rate with its mandatory vaccination policy of over 98.8% and its resounding claim that the vaccines are “effective,” the FDA is apparently still scared. Its actions speak volumes and cast serious doubt on its words. 2. Just prior...

"After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban's tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone," owner Shad Khan said in a statement. "I informed Urban of the change this evening. As I stated in October, regaining our trust and respect was essential. Regrettably, it did not happen.(Snip)Meyer's only season with the Jaguars wasn't very good on the field -- the team went 2-11, its 10th season with double-digit losses in the past 11 years -- but issues off the field...

Findings come as anti-Semitic attacks on students have skyrocketed in recent years An overwhelming number of diversity, equity, and inclusion officers at American universities, who are ostensibly hired to create a welcoming space on campus, use social media to bash Israel and Jews, according to a study. Researchers reviewed the Twitter feeds of 741 diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officials at 65 different U.S. universities to determine their attitudes on Israel and, for purposes of comparison, China. They found that DEI staff "tweeted, retweeted, or liked almost three times as many tweets about Israel as tweets about China." Of the...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization has fired its leader for ethical and professional breaches that it says include a yearslong secret association with an anti-Muslim group... ...The year-long probe found “conclusive evidence that Iqbal had spent years recording CAIR network meetings and passing information regarding CAIR’s national advocacy work to a known anti-Muslim hate group,” a release said. On Tuesday, ESPN released a video trailer for their upcoming E:60 special Fistful of Steel on the Bubba Wallace noose incident last year. However, at no point during the video do they mention that the FBI determined that the “noose” was a garage pull and Wallace was not a victim of a hate crime at all. In June of 2020, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace claimed a rope fastened to the front of his garage stall was a noose. An uproar ensued, in which the NASCAR world rallied around Wallace. However, a detachment of FBI investigators concluded, based on the fact...

The Senate passed a $2.5 trillion debt ceiling increase that will push the ceiling past the 2022 midterm elections by temporarily bypassing the Senate’s filibuster. It passed, 50-49, with solely Democrat votes. The measure moves to the House, where it is quickly expected to pass and get sent to President Biden. The federal government may face a default on its debt if Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling by December 15. The Senate passed the debt ceiling increase after members created a one-time carveout to the Senate’s rules, allowing Democrats to pass the bill with a simple majority. Sen....

For the first time in history, a spacecraft has touched the Sun. NASA’s Parker Solar Probe has now flown through the Sun’s upper atmosphere – the corona – and sampled particles and magnetic fields there. The new milestone marks one major step for Parker Solar Probe and one giant leap for solar science. Just as landing on the Moon allowed scientists to understand how it was formed, touching the very stuff the Sun is made of will help scientists uncover critical information about our closest star and its influence on the solar system. ... ...During the flyby, Parker Solar Probe...

‘I’ve seen suffering amongst people on a level that I’ve never seen before. In the last week, I went to my 13th death or cardiac arrest and subsequent death post the vaccine’ – Paramedic, Queensland Ambulance Service LAST week a regular reader of TCW Defending Freedom sent me a film that, despite all I already knew about Covid vaccine adverse reactions, injuries and deaths, shocked me to the core. In it more than a dozen Australian nurses and paramedics give their testimonies of what they’ve been witnessing and dealing with daily. They fear speaking out loud and openly such is...

Seriously ill patients facing death from late stage COVID infection increasingly face hospital protocols that have a terrible record of saving lives. In fact, nearly all such patients die. This explains why over 1,000 Americans are dying every day from COVID. In a week, more people die from late stage COVID than died in the 9/11 attacks. Yet this is not major news on mainstream media outlets. Getting used to COVID deaths has produced complacency rather than rage.As we hit 800,000 COVID related deaths in the US it is important to note that many and probably most of these occur...

The plot of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is set in motion by a threatened bout of collective amnesia, which is fitting because I could barely remember anything that happened in the last of these movies. That’s odd, because I definitely saw it. (I’m pretty sure I reviewed it.) Fortunately, like most installments of endless cinematic franchises, this latest Spidey adventure seldom stops explaining itself or referencing its predecessors (more on that in a bit). Within moments you are helpfully reminded of how 2019’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home” ended, with that belligerent hack journalist J. Jonah Jameson (Spidey mainstay J.K. Simmons)...

Dr. Mehmet was pro-life before he was pro-choice before becoming pro-life again. It seems he shifts his views based on whichever audience he’s talking to at the time. As a “Republican” candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, he needs to be pro-life, so VOILA! He’s pro-life again! But how pro-life is he? We’ve seen politicians profess to being pro-life, then vote to allow abortions at various stages of development. For example, a 24-week “pro-life” bill isn’t really pro-life because it allows abortion into the stages of development in which babies become viable. Even if the baby isn’t viable, anyone who believes...

Fireworks erupted on Fox News Tuesday night after Geraldo Rivera directly implicated former President Donald Trump of inciting riots at the United States Capitol building.Host Sean Hannity began by asking Rivera why Congress was only investigating the Capitol riot and not the assorted riots that took place in response to the murder of George Floyd last year.Rivera replied that those riots were not an attack on the American republic and system of government the way that this one was.“This was a riot that was unleashed, incited, and inspired by the president of the United States, which targeted the heart of...

At a weekly press conference, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) defended stock market investment by members of Congress after an investigation by Insider alleged that 49 members of Congress have violated laws against insider trading.U.S. law forbids people with insider information, including members of Congress, from buying stocks on the basis of that information, and those who break these laws can be subject to criminal prosecution.Laws against congressional insider trading were strengthened in 2012 amid a wave of insider trading in Congress; the STOCK Act, or Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act of 2012, placed limitations and new...
