On Tuesday, ESPN released a video trailer for their upcoming E:60 special Fistful of Steel on the Bubba Wallace noose incident last year.
However, at no point during the video do they mention that the FBI determined that the “noose” was a garage pull and Wallace was not a victim of a hate crime at all.
In June of 2020, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace claimed a rope fastened to the front of his garage stall was a noose. An uproar ensued, in which the NASCAR world rallied around Wallace. However, a detachment of FBI investigators concluded, based on the fact the rope had been in place at the stall long before Wallace’s team had been assigned that stall, that the “noose” was in fact a garage pull and Wallace was not the victim of a hate crime.
Those facts did not deter ESPN from creating a television special out of what was clearly not a hate crime.
The video picks up the story as dozens of NASCAR drivers, crew members, and owners flank Wallace’s vehicle as they walk beside him in support.
Early in the video, NASCAR President Steve Phelps calls the show of support Wallace received “the most incredible noncompetitive moment in sports” that he had ever seen. Yet, as Phelps and NASCAR should have known since the garage areas at Talladega are all under video surveillance, the garage pull that Wallace claimed was a noose had been in place since October.
In fact, the FBI used footage from those same cameras to determine that the garage pull was in place long before Wallace was assigned to that stall.

In that article in June of 2020, ESPN even directly quoted NASCAR’s statement announcing the FBI’s findings.
“The FBI report concludes, and photographic evidence confirms, that the garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose had been positioned there since as early as last fall.
“We appreciate the FBI’s quick and thorough investigation and are thankful to learn that this was not an intentional, racist act against Bubba.”
Whatever ESPN considers itself in the business of doing these days, it certainly isn’t in the business of reporting factual news.
Who confuses a garage pull for a noose?
People who want to fake a race hoax and make nascar look bad.
Black privilege even though he’s mostly white. lol
Jenna Ellis
So we’re still perpetuating this hoax with a garage pull and didn’t learn anything from Jussie?
When was the last honest-to-goodness white-against-black legitimate “hate crime” perpetrated?
Liberals have to push the delusional noise of widespread racism, otherwise in the quiet the true problems of the black populace are glaringly obvious: The genocide of black abortion and fatherlessness/illegitimacy/lack of stable family formation resulting in crime and chaos. Jussie Smollett is a perfect example. The delusion was pushed that he was attacked by racist, MAGA hat wearing Trumpists. What’s the truth? His father was missing for much of his childhood and he’s cruising gay bathhouses, snorting cocaine and smoking weed.
Pull the plug on ESPN, if you haven't already.
ESPN - the Pravda of the sports world.
You can go back to around ten years ago...ESPN had maxed out and wasn’t going to draw any additional sports enthusiasts....so they became some oddball news network to generate ‘hype’. Once you figured that out...either you left them entirely or you started to hit ‘mute’ 50-percent of the time.
Do they even do sports anymore?
June 17, 2015 Charleston, SC. Dylan Roof shot 9 AA during Bible study. He was trying to start a race war.
Consider this a booster lie.
ESPN launched on September 7, 1979, and is 80 percent owned by ABC, Inc., an indirect subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Hearst holds a 20 percent interest. Disney is so woke it can’t sleep at night. Hearst is a slimy operation best known these days for its slimy San Francisco Chronicle. ESPNs loud-mouths are unwatchable and month after month it has been losing viewers. This Bubba thing should help it along its downward path.
While not a rabid NASCAR fan I usually watched at least some of the races on TV.
The Bubba episode and ensuing actions of the crews and officials cured me.
I put NASCAR in my wastebasket along with NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB.
Haven’t watched a lap since.
Go Woke Go Broke.
I had been a very strong and knowledgeable NASCAR fan for about 40 years.
When that woke idiot Phelps stopped a race to lecture the fans about race and the woke drivers all pushed Wallace’s car through the pits I was done.
At the time I was actually working with a track to have my employer be a track sponsor and exhibit in the fan zone on a two year contract. Ooops, more money gone for NASCAR.
The rest of the drivers were afraid to actually race the black guy. His average finish stats actually increased by 50% for several weeks that season. When their silly woke politics affects competition, I’m done.
Last year I heard a few weeks later that my favorite driver won the championship. Meh
It used to be that the media would find a new lie/hoax to push, now they’re resorting to dusting off old lies/hoaxes to spread. They have no shame whatsoever, they never apologize for all their lies and hoaxes, they just move on to the next one.
Well, it’s “essentially true” - because in Trump’s America it could have happened. /s
