A man being described as a serial rapist has been charged with 14 counts, including attempted murder, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday. Jose Manuel Garcia, 36, was charged with physically and/or sexually assaulting six women in the Coachella Valley area from September 2020 to August 2021, officials said. Three victims were allegedly strangled to unconsciousness and in two incidents, the victims were struck by Garcia’s pickup. In one of those incidents, the victim suffered a broken leg and was “left injured in a ditch in Thermal for two-and-a-half days” before she was found and treated, DA Mike...

A psychiatrist named Sally Satel, who used to be part of the faculty at Yale, gave a guest lecture at the school in January on the opioid crisis with a focus on a town in Ohio. Shortly afterwards, a letter was sent to the department chair from “Concerned Yale Psychiatry Residents” which claimed her lecture was ‘traumatizing’ and accusing Satel of being a racist. Last week, Dr. Satel published a column at Quillette decrying the injection of social justice in medicine, and described what happened last January: On January 8th, 2021, I had my own encounter with intolerance in academic...

"In a New York court ruling, an 11-year-old girl has been ordered to get the COVID vaccine despite the wishes of her father who is a scientist and college professor. A divorced couple, Jeannie Figer and Donald Figer, went to court over whether their 11-year-old daughter should be vaccinated against COVID. Her father, a director at the Rochester Institute of Technology, has expressed his objections to rushing the jab for his daughter despite a lack of studies regarding the long-term side effects the vaccine may have on kids. Donald is vaccinated, but he worries about the potential impact on his...

Shaquille O’Neal brutally slammed celebrities for being “out of their freaking mind.” Shaq is often remembered by fans as a four-time NBA champion and one of the greatest basketball players of all time. However, he would prefer to be remembered for his kindness instead, Fox News reports. In an interview with the New York Post, the 7-foot-1 former Los Angeles Lakers superstar said he’s renounced his celebrity status. As one of the most recognizable athletes, Shaq is apparently done with “the glitz and glamour,” Fox News notes. “These celebrities are going freaking crazy and I don’t want to be one,”...

In a one-page decision issued Friday afternoon, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that an order that has kept the state’s schoolchildren masked for months must be voided. The decision upholds an earlier ruling by Commonwealth Court, which found the masking order issued in August by Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam is unenforceable. Beam lacked authority to require that students wear face masks while in school in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19, the two state courts concluded. The mask mandate was challenged in court by a bloc that included Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, a Republican who...

A “Let’s go Brandon” sticker and another anti-Biden decal were spotted on the back of a Philadelphia police cruiser — and authorities are investigating how they got there. The coded phrase favored by critics of the commander-in-chief — which actually means “**** Joe Biden” — was noticed by an eagle-eyed Philadelphia woman Thursday. The other sticker on the back of the police cruiser left nothing to the imagination. “So @PhillyPolice cars are allowed to have **** joe biden stickers now?” Arielle Klagsburn tweeted, tagging the city’s police commissioner, mayor and district attorney in the process. The post, which was retweeted...

Phonon Assisted Fusion Dana Seccombe Tactyx, USA seccombe@alum.mit.edu This paper continues and expands upon a paper presented at ICCF-22 related to phonon assisted fusion. The overall thesis is that there exist sparsely occupied “nearly free” deuteron states which are modelled similarly to nearly free electrons in traditional solid state physics. These states are occupied in the range of 10-4 , depending on D doping and lattice temperature. The probability amplitude of the states is largest in regions other than where Pd and bound are. The charge of nearly free D’s, whose spatial extent is in the range of .4...

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Inside Kai’s Crab Boil on Thursday night, tensions came to a boil. A customer had stopped in for some takeout food and had trouble with a credit card payment. Manager Courtney Hickey says the customer inserted her chip credit card but removed it too early. That meant the transaction pinged her bank account for a pre-authorization. Hickey tried to explain that that transaction would drop off of her account, but she says the customer was still upset. “After I tried to explain all of that, she kinda just hit me,” Hickey said. “Definitely was surprised when it...

USA Today changed the headline after well-deserved mockery. USA Today published a convoluted, garbled mish-mash of “antiracist” Critical Race Training crazy disguised as a serious piece of “journalism” . . . . or maybe it’s an op-ed? Who can tell in these final days of leftwing propaganda disguised as “news”? NOTE: USA Today changed the headline after endless and well-deserved mockery to “Is Math Education Racist?”As is so often the case when leftist propagandists engage in what could be meaningful discourse, the team of four writers on this piece (FOUR!) start out asking the wrong question and, in the process,...

For the first time, scientists have identified a rare population of potentially toxic senescent cells in human brains that can serve as a target for a new Alzheimer's disease treatment. Senescent cells are old, sick cells that cannot properly repair themselves and don't die off when they should. Instead they function abnormally and release substances that kill surrounding healthy cells and cause inflammation. Over time, they continue to build up in tissues throughout the body contributing to the aging process, neurocognitive decline and cancer. Research conducted by Orr in 2018 found that senescent cells accumulated in mouse models of Alzheimer's...

Charlotte, NC — A study released this week in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) publication Circulation found that young patients who experienced myocarditis were overwhelmingly injected with an experimental mRNA COVID-19 shot within a month of the heart condition starting. The study looked at data on 139 adolescent or young adult patients, all under 21 years old, “with suspected myocarditis within 30 days of COVID-19 vaccination” from 26 healthcare centers in America. The study states: “Understanding the clinical course and short-term outcomes of suspected myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination has important public health implications in the decision to vaccinate youth.” It...
