A person was shot and killed at a Marine Corps Recruit Depot entrance gate Friday after approaching base personnel with a knife in a hostile intent, Marine officials said. Just before noon, a vehicle attempted to enter the base at the gate 5 entrance. Base personnel asked the person to stop the vehicle. The person then got out of the vehicle with a knife and approached the personnel. After several warnings, the person was shot.
