Here’s the common reaction to the Waukesha, Wis., murders: It’s nuts that the suspect, with his long criminal history, was free on $1,000 bail posted days before the automotive rampage. Here’s New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, in a tweet the day after the Waukesha murders: “Today, we sent a letter . . . to NYC’s 5 District Attorneys requesting information on excessive bail in the NYC court system.” The letter was also signed by fellow New York Democrat Carolyn Maloney and Maryland’s Jamie Raskin. That disconnect will haunt Democrats. Waukesha is one of those rare moments when the consequences of...

The Communist Party organized multiple mass assemblies, including one apparently mimicking the practices of anti-regime protesters, throughout this week to honor the memory of dictator Fidel Castro on the five-year anniversary of his much-anticipated death. Hours of speeches, military assemblies, lines of “mourners” assembled at his tomb, and a night time candlelight vigil formed just part of the program of events organized by the Party, still controlled by the Castro family, between Tuesday and Thursday. Local independent journalists reported a marked “lack in popular enthusiasm” over the events that the regime tried to drown out by placing megaphones on street...

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.( I Kings 18:19-21)The time had come for the moment of Truth for...

Friday, November 26, 2021 Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Luke 21:29-33 Friends, in today’s Gospel passage, Jesus speaks of the time when the plan of God will be fulfilled. Some philosophies defend a circular or cyclic understanding of time. They hold that time just continually circles back on itself, repeating like the cycles of the seasons. The modern philosopher Nietzsche spoke of the “eternal return of the same.” That’s a mythic consciousness, and it can be found all over the world. But the Jews had a very different sense of time, what we might call “linear.” They felt that time...

Well, here we go kid-do’s… After the majority of Americans concluded THEIR “godless” Thanksgiving without Almighty God and ALL the realities of Who He is, which is dictated by His HOLY WORD it is “Black Friday”. America’s Thanksgiving and Holiday season now consists of thanking THEIR god’s of self narcissism, human efforts and personal ambitions, while of course eating, drinking and watching football. My friends don’t get me wrong… there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a fine diner with your loved ones, eating good food, stuffing yourself, watching football, exchanging gifts, rejoicing over the work of you hands and...

Under Dahm’s legislation, if a person is charged with murder but is found not guilty due to justifiable homicide, the state would have to reimburse the defendant for all reasonable costs, including loss of wages, legal fees incurred, and other expenses involved in their defense. Dahm says this bill was inspired by the recent trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse was recently acquitted of all charges...

After I wrote my Kamala Harris shopping-spree piece here, deriding Harris's rude refusal to speak French to the locals at a fancy cookware shop in Paris, AT editor Thomas Lifson pointed out something important: Kamala Harris actually ought to be able to speak French. Here's how she did: Turns out she was educated during her four high school years in Montreal, Canada, where her mother worked as a cancer researcher during the late 1970s, early 1980s. Montreal is Canada's top French-speaking city. In 1977, approximately just when she arrived, a law was passed in Quebec requiring the use of the...
