There is a very reasonable argument to be made that the climate-related Conferences of Parties (COPs) that occur annually under UN auspices are terrible things. They cost (i.e., waste) enormous resources, and they have the potential to do great damage to the world economy and the well-being of the people. Fair enough. But on balance, my view is that it’s a good thing we have them. I can think of no other comparable activities that put on such dramatic and widely-viewed display the immeasurable foolishness and hubris of our political overlords. By the time you read this, COP26 will likely...

OLD TOWN, Maryland — This ancient colonial town nestled along the north branch of the Potomac River could not be more different than the upscale suburbs of Chevy Chase located much closer to the tidal portion. While both are in the same state, this town of 86 people is more culturally connected to the people and places in West Virginia and Pennsylvania close to this region than the D.C. suburb located in the center of wealth and power in this country.Yet they do share one recently developing commonality that has gone under the radar of the national press that tells the...

A few years ago, “ghost gun” homemade shotguns were appearing at gun “buyback” turn-in events, as makers of the simple shotguns cashed in on the money to be had. Gun “buyback” is an Orwellian term. You cannot “buyback” a gun you never owned before. In a recent turn-in event on October 23, from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio, it appears two of the shotguns were turned in for $50 each. The guns show a bit of craftsmanship. The hose clamps are nicely clipped instead of having excessive over-run, the stock is inletted for the barrel and clamping...

WASHINGTON, Thursday, Oct. 31. NEWS FROM CENTREVILLE. Yesterday Gen. BUTTERFIELD dispatched Brig ade-Quartermaster NORTON with ten wagons and an escort of the New-York Forty-fourth to Shreve's Farm, four miles northwest of Fall's Church and west of the Leesburgh Pike, to obtain forage. A short distance north of Fall's Church they captured a rebel picket, who had left his post to forage for whisky. Capt. NORTON at once sent him to headquarters, though he learned from the prisoner that the rebel pickets were stationed not far back of SHREVE's place. Capt. NORTON judiciously posted his men to repel an attack, but...

Overview Experiments using ultrasound in various fluid compositions and using various witness materials to see if potential transmutations seen in other experiments could be replicated at a very simple and affordable level. 2. Context Ultrasound has been shown to cause synthesis of elements in a range of experiments, such as those conducted by Roger Stringham, LeClaire et. al., Tom Claytor, Cardone and Shuhas Ralkar....

As Barack Obama might say: Never underestimate Joe’s ability to fox things up. In January 2020 BC (Before COVID) the American economy was running like a well-oiled machine and enjoying growth rates not seen in years. Unemployment for black people was at all-time lows. Inflation remained a non-issue. And America had once again become energy independent, after decades of shortages and wars linked to her reliance on imported oil. To look successful, all Joe Biden needed to do upon being handed the presidency was to emerge from his basement, fiddle with a few dials to look busy, and simply ride...

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s 1978 indictment of America’s moral and cultural problems was prophetic and rings even truer today. “Not everything has a name. Some things lead us into a realm beyond words.” Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. (1918-2008) For even the most devoted Wokesters in America today—whether true believers or camp followers—all know America is in a realm beyond words. It resembles the type of heightened exhilaration before one hits the ground in the instant agony of sure death. A Thelma and Louise moment. At such a time, and before our nation hits the ground, we may want to re-visit a complicated writer, loyal...

November 1, 2021 All Saints, solemnity All Saints Church Korcula Island, Croatia Readings at MassLiturgical Colour: White.First readingApocalypse 7:2-4,9-14 ©I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and languageI, John, saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God; he called in a powerful voice to the four angels whose duty was to devastate land and sea, ‘Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees, until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.’...

The Tennessee Republican Party, nicknamed the “party of Lincoln,” passed away last Thursday as it was being carted between state House and Senate committee hearing rooms. A full historical autopsy won’t be carried out for 50 years. snip The GOP, as it was also sometimes called, was born in the mid-1960s with the influx of Tennessee Democrats, particularly in and around Memphis, who were disaffected by President Lyndon Johnson’s embrace of the civil rights movement. Observers saw this as an early indication of the chronic diseases that would plague the GOP in its later years. However, the election of Sen....

So far, in only nine months, the Biden war machine has inflicted almost incomprehensible damage on the American people. Unbelievable. That's really the only way to describe the never-ending onslaught of bad news and incredible occurrences that are exploding in our daily lives. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, that they can't be serious, that it seems as if the "Biden" administration's sole goal is to make each person's life as wretchedly painful as possible, BAM! — another incredible misery warhead detonates on our reality. So far, in only nine months, the Biden war machine has inflicted...

Source: Photo/PrincessBlanding.comImagine you are a hardcore liberal Democrat or independent in Virginia. Voting for the buoyant Glenn Youngkin is a non-starter. He’s a Republican, a conservative, and a multi-millionaire who made his fortune as a 25-year executive at the Carlyle Group, a private-equity house. Youngkin served as Carlyle’s co-CEO. “Vote for a CEO in finance? Not bloody likely!” you might think. And then there’s Terry McAuliffe. Yes, he’s a Democrat, but Smarmy is his middle name. He spent much of his career as the bag man for the Clinton crime family. He oozes shadiness. And then there’s his goofy dance,...

Americans’ opinions on the U.S. economy have soured noticeably in the past month, a new poll finds, with nearly half expecting economic conditions to worsen in the next year. Just 35% of Americans now call the national economy good, while 65% call it poor, according to a poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. That’s a dip since September, when 45% of Americans called the economy good, and a return to about where views of the nation’s economy stood in January and February, when the pandemic was raging across the nation. The poll shows a majority of...

On Sunday, a shocking new NBC Newspollwas announced by Chuck Todd, anchor ofMeet the Press. It showed that 71% of Americans believe the country is on the “wrong track” and only 22% believe it is moving in the right direction. These are horrible numbers for the Biden administration and Democrats who control both Congress and the White House. The NBC newspollalso showed that Republicans were trusted over Democrats by more than double digit margins in a wide range of areas such as handling the economy, inflation, crime, national security, border security, and “getting things done.” These results reflect the reality of...

I think we can all agree that it’s been a rough past 12 months? A year ago on election day, Donald Trump supporters went to bed with solid leads in key states, hopeful of another presidential victory that would have somewhat held the leftist tide at bay for four more years. We woke up only to watch those leads slip away in a tsunami of mail-in ballots and suspicious vote counts in just enough places to deliver a ‘victory’ to Joe Biden. A few months later, the unfortunate events of January 6 - one day after Democrats took back the...

The Lepanto Institute released a new video report, exposing the celebration and promotion of militant communists in a Vatican event initiated by Pope Francis. The report focuses on the organizations and speakers that were celebrated in a video produced by the Vatican for the fourth annual World Meeting of Popular Movements (WMPM). According to the WMPM website, the purpose of the meeting "is to create an 'encounter' between Church leadership and grassroots organizations working to address the 'economy of exclusion and inequality' by working for structural changes that promote social, economic and racial justice." But many of the organizations participating...

Joe Biden has been caught red handed with what appears to be a detailed pre-approved list of reporters he’s allowed to call upon while taking questions after the G20 summit in Rome. The president has been known to only call upon reporters his team pre-approved, however today’s press conference showed images of the list with photos of the reporters. He told the media “I’m happy to take some questions” and then grabbed his list and said he’s been “told to start with AP, Zeke Miller.” President Biden has copped intense backlash for failing to front the media by either walking...

The cities are devolving into chaos, and perhaps that’s good – people too dumb to learn from experience or from those who know better have to learn from something, and if that’s pain, well, pain’s a great teacher. In Philadelphia, some troubled youth who was illegally in this country, but had been let go on previous occasions post-interaction with the local gendarmes, decided to woo a local woman he met on a train the old-fashioned way, by threats and violence. The other passengers reacted as one might expect in a Democrat-run metropolis, and whipped out their iPhones to record the...
