Americans’ opinions on the U.S. economy have soured noticeably in the past month, a new poll finds, with nearly half expecting economic conditions to worsen in the next year.
Just 35% of Americans now call the national economy good, while 65% call it poor, according to a poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. That’s a dip since September, when 45% of Americans called the economy good, and a return to about where views of the nation’s economy stood in January and February, when the pandemic was raging across the nation.
The poll shows a majority of Americans are critical of Biden’s handling of the economy, with 58% saying they disapprove and 41% saying they approve.

I’m on SS. Between food, gas and utilities, the COLA raise won’t do the trick.
... Or they work for the government.
“I’m on SS. Between food, gas and utilities, the COLA raise won’t do the trick.”
Although there is nothing you can now do about your situation it is a good example to others to treat their upcoming retirement years as if there would be no SS and save your money accordingly.

Same thing. :-)

I’m looking forward to some good old fashioned schadenfreude watching my oblivious fellow citizens experience socialism. Unfortunately, most of them are unable to understand what caused their discomfort.
There is always the far left democrat base that will say it is better than what Trump had no matter what.
“Not everyone can put away savings. I’m 77.”
I understand that and that is why I said it is to late for some such as those near or already retired.
Try having your lifes savings wiped out by you and your spouse being unable to work due to health problems at the same time.
My wife’s doctor and hospital bills were astronomical, mine were just high.
Sometimes life hands you lemons so rotten you can’t make lemonade.
But wait. I thought “consumer confidence” was up in October?
Hopefully this translates at the voting booth, especially in VA.
How unfortunate for you and your wife.
It is startling to realize how big a part luck plays in our lives.
The economy is going to get worse and its going to be an even bigger boat anchor around the necks of Democrats than all of Biden’s other numerous failures.
“It is startling to realize how big a part luck plays in our lives.”
Yeah, things beyond your control can jump up and bite you in the rear.
It is what it is.
