Steve Bannon is “not required to respond” to a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol because former President Donald Trump says their communications are protected by executive privilege, his lawyer claimed in a letter Wednesday. Trump’s lawyer told Bannon that the ex-president “is exercising his executive privilege” and instructed him “not to produce documents or testify until the issue of executive privilege is resolved,” lawyer Robert Costello wrote. “That is is an issue between the Committee and President Trump’s counsel and Mr. Bannon is not required to respond at this time,” Costello...

President Joe Biden’s crashing polling numbers appear to have no end as he fumbles with the border crisis, a 13-year high in inflation, and the threat of empty toy shelves on Christmas Eve. In a new Zogby Poll just provided to Secrets, the first-year president has hit another job performance low, 36.4%. “Our latest polling shows President Biden with a 36% positive job performance rating (excellent-15% and good-21% combined), while his negative rating is 61% (fair-19% and poor-42% combined),” pollster Jonathan Zogby of Zogby Analytics told us. Worst of all, women are abandoning the president, followed by independents — voters...

Snip: No quarter shall be given. It didn’t take long to find hundreds of videos where these Trumpers and so-called patriots were hanging black American flags. You can see a mashup to your right, there are hundreds of more videos like this, but I just wanted you to get the gist of it. Black American flags are the flags that mean “no quarter shall be given.” They are the opposite of the white flag of surrender. According to the people on Tik Tok and the Sun (British tabloid), the black American flag originated in the civil war and was flown...

The CEO of Southwest Airlines said Tuesday that he never wanted to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for his employees and admitted his company will only violate the privacy and liberty of tens of thousands of workers because President Joe Biden forced his hand. Gary Kelly told CNBC that any company mandate is all on the federal government. “I’ve never been in favor of corporations imposing that kind of a mandate. I’m not in favor of that. Never have been,” Kelly said. “But the executive order from President Biden mandates that all federal employees and then all federal contractors, which covers...

Paris (AFP) - Coldplay outlined plans Thursday for an eco-friendly world tour in which fans will power the shows using "kinetic flooring" and cycles. But frontman Chris Martin admitted to the BBC that they risked criticism from fans, given that they still enjoyed the use of private jets. "The people that give us backlash for that kind of thing, for flying, they're right. So we don't have any argument against that," Martin said. The announcement came with a list of "sustainability initiatives" including a plan to cut their overall emissions in half compared with the last tour in 2016-17. The...

Forcing children who are not at risk for serious illness to receive a vaccine of marginal benefit undermines confidence in legitimate vaccine programs.California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate for schoolchildren age 12 and older — and other similar mandates popping up around the country — raises the question: For a patient population that predominately suffers only mild to no symptoms, is it ethical to coerce them to receive a vaccine that provides little benefit and causes rare but significant side effects? Why COVID-19 and Polio Aren’t The SameDuring the early 1950s, my parents waited and hoped that polio, an incurable,...

VIDEO"Sanjay, you're a prince. I don't know where you get your patience"...for tolerating a deplorable like Joe Rogan. Of course, we won't at all mention that Rogan got you to admit that CNN LIED about him using "horse dewormer" to treat his Covid. Instead we will dwell on the "nuances" rather than the real substance of the interview which revealed CNN as a very deceptive network. Oh, and can anybody out there do a count on the number of times Gupta used the word "nuance" during his Rogan interview as well as during his appearance on the CNN damage control?

Dear Gov. Cooper, We write to you today as citizens of the state of North Carolina, many of whom voted for you, who care deeply about social justice issues, and who own firearms. We are writing to you about H.B. 398, which has passed the North Carolina House and Senate on party-line votes and now sits at your desk. We ask you, despite the partisan nature of previous votes, to sign this bill, as we consider the current law does nothing to promote firearms safety or social justice, and instead is a tax and legal burden on working class...

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle’s police department is sending detectives and non-patrol officers to respond to emergency calls because of a shortage of patrol officers that union leaders fear will become worse because of COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The department on Wednesday moved to the emergency officer dispatching scenario because of the staffing crunch. KOMO reports the department has lost more than 300 officers over the past year. Nearly 300 more could face termination if they do not comply with an Oct. 18 deadline to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. “We can’t afford to lose one, that’s how desperate we are to...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom spent the summer campaigning to keep his job and, with a landslide victory in hand, he’s continued pushing progressive California further left. In the four weeks after beating back a recall attempt, the Democrat signed laws that require gender-neutral displays of children’s toys and toothbrushes in large department stores, made it illegal to remove a condom without consent during intercourse and cleared the way for a nation’s first ban on the sale of new gas-powered leaf blowers and lawn mowers. He also made it illegal to film someone near an abortion clinic...

Compared with just one month ago, consumers are paying slightly more for most goods and services. Compared with a year ago, however, they’re paying significantly more, according to Labor Department data released this week. The Labor Department reported that the consumer price index, a key inflation gauge that measures how much Americans pay for goods and services, rose about 0.4 percent in September. The year-over-year prices increased 5.4 percent, which some noted is the largest yearly increase since January 1991. The agency’s report (pdf), released Wednesday, breaks down how much prices have increased for certain key services and goods, including...

It’s a fact you must-hear(d) – Hot dog, the Biden economic plan is working. And that’s something we can all relish." "Sixteen cents?" Doocy asked after noting the tweet.

On this episode of the Resistance Library Podcast, Sam and Dave discuss Charlton Heston. Charlton Heston is a singular figure in American history and consciousness. During the early period of his acting career, he was known for historical and Biblical epics. After his career waned throughout the 1960s, he was reborn as a science fiction actor, thanks to his starring role in Planet of the Apes. While often viewed as a bit of camp today, this film and the series that spawned it was the biggest popular science fiction movie franchise in the pre-Star Wars era. For our purposes, however,...

Rabbi Slomo Koves was preparing to speak about Jewish life at a high school in a small, industrial town in Hungary when suddenly the headmaster had concerns. “The head of the school told me that he wanted me to be careful because most of the kids are first-time voters — and most of them will vote for the extreme-right Jobbik party,” Koves said. Koves, from Budapest, insisted that he would be okay and the first question he asked the students was: “What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘Jew’?” Their answer, he says, “was a curse word.” […]...

Mollie Hemingway’s new book, 'Rigged,' explains how the 2020 election was corrupted by the concerted efforts of America’s most powerful institutions.Hillary Clinton said Monday in an appearance on “The View” that we’re “in the midst of a concerted, well-funded effort to undermine American democracy.”She’s half-right. There is indeed a concerted, well-funded effort to undermine American democracy, but it doesn’t come from Donald Trump, whom Clinton claims is responsible for the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and ongoing efforts to question the legitimacy of the 2020 election. (Clinton would know all about questioning the legitimacy of elections; as recently...

CNN)The committee investigating the January 6 Capitol Hill riot announced Thursday it is moving forward to hold Trump ally Steve Bannon in criminal contempt for refusing to comply with a subpoena, as his game of chicken with the House panel now enters a new and critical phase. "Mr. Bannon has declined to cooperate with the Select Committee and is instead hiding behind the former President's insufficient, blanket, and vague statements regarding privileges he has purported to invoke," Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson, who chairs the committee, said in a statement on Thursday. Bannon was scheduled for a deposition in front of...

ESPN “First Take” host Stephen A. Smith got into a heated discussion with colleague Jay Williams on Wednesday regarding Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving’s refusal to get vaccinated. Irving reportedly isn’t getting vaccinated because he opposes mandates forcing him to take vaccines. That move could cost the star his entire season due to not being able to play home games because of New York’s vaccine policies. Williams, who played in the NBA, voiced his opposition to the vaccinated, labeling the unvaccinated “stupid” or “selfish” by the likes of Smith. “I’m just telling you how it feels to some people, Stephen...
