With all that is going on in our country, we did not know how deep it is or how wide. President Trump pulled back the curtain and we can see if we want to see. With the Justice Department, judges, and our government, plus the media... all are working against the people and against the Constitution. We say do not vote for a socialist... keep it out. Keep us free. It's already here.. if you don't feel it.. look around!

Meghan McCain is leaving "The View." One assumes that regular readers of editorial pages and political magazines aren't exactly the prime audience for a daytime-television show. And one also assumes that a not insignificant number of Republicans aren't fans of McCain because of her sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump. Yet I think it's fair to say that McCain was probably one of the most consequential conservatives in media over the past four years. For one thing, "The View" captures a larger audience than any cable-news show in the country. It is watched by millions of Americans who are...

Just hours after Pfizer and its partner BioNTech announced their plan to seek federal authorization to market a "booster" jab that they said would provide better protection against COVID variants like Delta, the FDA and CDC issued a joint statement contradicting Pfizer by claiming that there's no evidence that booster vaccines will be necessary. The two federal entities said the US is "fortunate to have highly effective vaccines that are widely available for those 12 and up" and "Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need a booster shot at this time." However that could still change since the...

The Democrats have a problem: They have run away from their core voters. And they are beginning to notice and worry. ... Democrat Party has moved hard left, the voters it relies on to attain power haven’t. Thus, in the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump — despite being called a white supremacist and a Hispanic-hater by all the mainstream media — picked up black and Hispanic votes. ... Just look at the issues the Democrats are pushing: defunding the police, which hurts mostly poor and working-class neighborhoods; critical race theory, which mostly interests woke white activists (and rich-and-guilty Dem...

Almost a year after a woman was fatally attacked by a great white shark while swimming in a cove in Harpswell, the state is nearly tripling the number of acoustic shark detectors in the waters along Maine’s coast. Following the fatal July 27, 2020, attack, the state Department of Marine Resources deployed eight acoustic receivers in coastal waters, spread out between Wells and Popham Beach, after it had already placed three in Saco Bay off Old Orchard Beach. The receivers, 11 in total, recorded pings from sharks that had been tagged with transmitters by researchers who are collecting data about...

CNN — A new data analysis identifies clusters of unvaccinated people, most of them in the southern United States, that are vulnerable to surges in Covid-19 cases and could become breeding grounds for even more deadly Covid-19 variants. The analysis by researchers at Georgetown University identified 30 clusters of counties with low vaccination rates and significant population sizes. The five most significant of those clusters are sprawled across large swaths of the southeastern United States and a smaller portion in the Midwest. The five clusters are largely in parts of eight states, starting in the east in Georgia and stretching...

Biden will sign an executive order to call for more regulation and enforcement against big tech and large telecommunication companies to spur more competition. Among the other regulations, the executive order will encourage the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reinstate the Obama-era net neutrality rules that would prohibit blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization.

“P.S. You bastards go in there anyway and a lot of people could get hurt.” Thus reads a note sent in 1989 to the U.S. Forest Service by Tracy Stone-Manning, now President Biden’s nominee to run the Bureau of Land Management. Presidents are generally entitled to personnel picks. An exception might be a nominee who ran with eco-terrorists—who collaborated with Earth First! saboteurs, known for spiking trees to halt timber sales, and who misled senators about the nature of her involvement. Mr. Biden put Ms. Stone-Manning forward in April, and she isn’t new to politics. The environmental radical has worked...

A COVID-vaccinated teenager from Tel Aviv, Israel infected at least 83 of his peers with the COVID-19 virus after catching it from a relative who has also been vaccinated. OK, the headline is a bit like clickbait, I do not believe Ivermectin is useful, but I could be wrong. (Did I just say that?) A new study demonstrates how a rush to publish, (and possibly treat) may have resulted in poorly designed studies where a quiet signal is lost in an abundance of noise. While effective vaccines are an incredibly important part of the COVID-19 solution, none are completely effective, and so we do need anti-virals to reduce the severity of those who become infected. There have been many candidates that have come and gone, most recently Ivermectin as we...

Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time Matthew 10:16-23 Friends, in our Gospel today, Jesus assures us that the Holy Spirit will help us when we face persecution. Speaking to his disciples the night before he dies, Jesus says that he and his Father will send another Parakletos (Advocate). That word, stemming from kaleo (to call) and para (for, or on behalf of), designates something like a lawyer, someone who would plead on behalf of another, who would support, advocate, encourage. Jesus is saying that while he will depart physically from the scene, he and his Father will send the Spirit as...
