The Departure of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 I realize that one look at the title may cause you to hit the snooze button. Why examine the translation of one word? We do so because it has the potential to greatly strengthen our conviction that the church will miss all of the coming tribulation. In recent years, the Greek Word apostasia in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 has received heightened attention. The traditional view is that it refers to a falling away from biblical faith as we see in all our modern English translations, but this has not always been the case. The earliest...

Speaking to their nearly hundred million followers on social media, they have vilified the Jewish state with an all-consuming hatred. From the beginning of my rabbinic career, I focused mightily on public relations and disseminating the Jewish message to the world. I was accused of being publicity-hungry and of shallowness. But I knew that the one area where we Jews have so significantly failed was in public relations. And this has been true throughout the centuries. Only one nation has ever been accused of murdering God: The Jews. And our inability to properly respond to so heinous a charge –...

A new report further demonstrates what many already knew when it comes to the Black Lives Matter protests that took place last year after the murder of George Floyd. The Economist conducted a study looking at voters’ opinions toward President Joe Biden, in relation to the riots that took place in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after the police shooting of Jacob Blake. The Daily Caller reports:A new statistical analysis by The Economist compared President Joe Biden’s vote share in precincts surrounding Kenosha, Wisconsin, to what they should have been based on his vote share in comparable precincts based on voting history, demographics...

The situation is absolutely, completely, 100% Joe Biden's fault. Yes, it is what many Democrats wanted. It is what many activists and commentators wanted. For that matter, it is what The New York Times editorial board wanted. But the fact is, it would not happen without the president of the United States making it happen. The president could order border officials under his authority to enforce the law and turn away those who have no legal right to enter the United States other than at a port of entry. The United States, which like other countries has developed elaborate procedures...

Capt. Chelsi B. Johnson of the D.C. National Guard Public Affairs told WUSA 9 that operations will “return to normal.” The Capitol Police have not requested the Guard to stay past May 23. Once the mission concludes, D.C. National Guard will return to...

On Dec. 22, 2019, Bishop Mark Davies received Gavin Ashenden into the Catholic Church. “I had not expected the great sense of peace and clarity of mind that has come with being a Catholic,” says Gavin Ashenden, speaking May 11. ...It was Dec. 22, 2019, when Ashenden made headlines across the world. His reception into the Catholic Church was of interest to the secular media because, at one time, he had been Anglican chaplain to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. ..“Life as an Anglican Protestant always involved a series of contested variables,” he explains, “which went to the heart of...

Like Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer is prone to making gaffes. We all remember when Schumer was speaking at the senate floor as a trial date was set for Donald Trump to face charges of inciting the deadly US Capitol riots. Speaking to the floor, Schumer said: “Make no mistake, there will be a trial, and when that trial ends senators will have to decide if they believe Donald John Trump incited the erection… insurrection against the United States.” His gaffes are not enough so he tried to be Frank Sinatra this morning. Schumer took a break from Senate business to...

What a wondrous and challenging feast we celebrate at Pentecost! A feast like this challenges us because it puts to the lie a lazy, sleepy, hidden, and tepid Christian life. The Lord Jesus said to the apostles, I have come to cast a fire on the earth (Luke 12:49). This is a feast about fire, a transformative, refining, purifying fire that the Lord wants to kindle in us. It is a necessary fire, for as the Lord first judged the world by fire, the present heavens and the earth are reserved for fire. Because it is going to be the...

The U.S. has seized thousands of dollars in media proceeds from accused rioter John Earle Sullivan, who sold the rights to his Jan. 6 narrated video inside the Capitol to NBC News, CNN and four other outlets. The seizure was disclosed in a court filing in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., by a prosecutor opposing Mr. Sullivan’s motion to release the money. Assistant U.S. Attorney Candice C. Wong said that Mr. Sullivan received $90,875 for rights to his widely posted self-narrated video. It included the stark scene of Ashli Babbitt being fatally shot by an unidentified Capitol Police officer as protesters...

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) warned that "the cease-fire agreed to by Israel must not be permitted to obscure its responsibility for the war crimes it committed against the Palestinians. Their practice of urging civilians to evacuate the target zones for Israeli air strikes doesn't excuse the fact that these bombings are acts of aggression against the righteous efforts of freedom fighters to dislodge the illegal occupiers of Muslim lands." Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) expressed a similar message, calling Israel's retaliation for the thousands of Hamas rockets fired into heavily populated areas within Israel "totally unwarranted. The attempt to exterminate the...

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said the updated guidelines are based on studies showing the robust effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing disease in various age groups and settings. Even when vaccinated people do contract COVID-19, their infections tend to be milder, shorter and less likely to spread to others. As a result, the CDC says vaccinated people can generally be excluded from routine workplace screening for COVID-19. That change could eliminate testing headaches like the one recently reported by the New York Yankees, when one player and several staffers tested positive on a highly sensitive COVID-19 test, despite being...

In 1948, the armies of seven Arab nations invaded Israel. They failed to wipe out the newly reborn nation, but Jordan occupied part of Jerusalem and ethnically cleansed its Jews. Among the former Jewish neighborhoods was a small area named Shimon HaTzadik or Simon the Righteous after a high priest who became famous for talking Alexander the Great out of putting up an idol in the Temple. The Arab Muslim colonists who had occupied the area however called it Sheikh Jarrah after an associate of the Iraqi invader Saladin. Saladin had invaded Israel some 1500 years after Shimon HaTzadik’s death....

A bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood is now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry. CC’s posted on its Facebook page that the new policy will take effect May 22. The post pointed to constant changing of mask directives as part of the reason for the new policy, saying the changes “caused confusion and frustration over the right thing to do.” The bar said that the policy protects staff and everyone who chooses to enter and provides incentive to get vaccinated. Customers have to show a copy or picture of their vaccine card with the name and date matching...

Ontario government wants itself – not parents or guardians – to be the final authority over your children’s health decisions. The Ontario government is enticing children with promises of free ice cream to get the experimental COVID-19 shot without parental consent. Ontario’s University of Health Network is teaming up with community organizers to deliver Pfizer vaccines to children at a pop-up vaccine event at the Nathan Phillips Square this Sunday — and children are encouraged to do so even without their parents’ permission. “ Holiday news: our pop-up vaccine team is coming to Nathan Phillips Square for 12+ year olds...

President Joe Biden has largely delivered on his campaign promise to make curbing climate change a top priority, delighting liberals but irking Republicans who expected a more centrist course given the deal-making profile he cast as a senator. “Joe Biden’s first 100 days have been about promises made, promises kept. If I am an environmentalist, you have to give him high grades,” said Bob McNally, president of Rapidan Energy Group and former oil official in the George W. Bush administration. On his first day in office, Biden started the process of reinserting the United States into the Paris Agreement, undoing...

The American Red Cross confirmed to Reuters that they are allowing people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to donate plasma (the liquid component in blood), contrary to claims on social media that this plasma is not being accepted because the vaccine is “so untested”. The confusion may have arisen over the Red Cross’ policy on convalescent plasma, meaning plasma that has COVID-19 antibodies after recent infection and can be used as a treatment for COVID-19 infection. The American Red Cross’ current policy is to only accept convalescent plasma donations from people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have not...

It was 1969. Kate invited me to join her for a gathering at the home of her friend, Lila Karp. They called the assemblage a “consciousness-raising-group,” a typical communist exercise, something practiced in Maoist China. We gathered at a large table as the chairperson opened the meeting with a back-and-forth recitation, like a Litany, a type of prayer done in Catholic Church. But now it was Marxism, the Church of the Left, mimicking religious practice:“Why are we here today?” she asked. “To make revolution,” they answered. “What kind of revolution?” she replied. “The Cultural Revolution,” they chanted. “And how do...
