With the ability to sense changes in pH, temperature and oil, this completely soft robot dubbed "DraBot" could be the prototype for future environmental sentinels. Credit: Vardhman Kumar ================================================================= Engineers at Duke University have developed an electronics-free, entirely soft robot shaped like a dragonfly that can skim across water and react to environmental conditions such as pH, temperature or the presence of oil. The proof-of-principle demonstration could be the precursor to more advanced, autonomous, long-range environmental sentinels for monitoring a wide range of potential telltale signs of problems. The announcement transitions the current guidance for business from requirements to recommendations, and businesses will have the "ability to continue requiring masks and social distancing." His order still allows businesses to enforce mask mandates if they want, but cities, towns and counties must lift theirs.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid came to work Wednesday ready for another ReidOut full of hate, starting with more vile rhetoric against the Second Amendment that attacked Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) as a “conservative southern Democrat and self-styled Senate underboss,” insisted AR-15s needed to be wiped out, and blamed Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) for the Boulder grocery store shooting because of her gun “pornography.” Reid began firing off hot takes about three minutes in, implying Manchin was a racist as she used the “southern Democrat” lie, mocked his failure to pass gun control after Sandy Hook, and decried his “underboss” efforts to...

The US military is shifting its focus from asymmetric wars in the Middle East to near-peer rivals. Those rivals, namely Russia and China, have had two decades to see how the US fights and find ways to counter its strengths. After nearly two decades of counter-terror operations around the world, the United States military has recently begun shifting its focus away from this form of asymmetric warfare and back toward the potential for near-peer conflicts with nations like China or Russia. Despite maintaining the most powerful military apparatus on the globe, this pivot won't be without its challenges. Over the...

In Ukraine, the Kremlin was wary of sending in the armor in large numbers until it appeared separatist troops in the east neared defeat. ere's What You Need to Remember: The Estonian military planned to buy the missiles before Russia invaded Crimea and eastern Ukraine, but the war certainly frightened Estonia enough into buying more of them—and doing it faster. It was more than eight years ago when a tank force from the Georgian army’s 42nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion fought its way overnight through Tskhinvali, South Ossetia. The tanks were in trouble. They were moving too fast, outrunning their infantry...

According to a new report, President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden was involved with a gun incident a few years ago which is extremely ironic considering the Biden Administration is aggressively pushing to enact more gun control against the American people. Veteran investor Ray Dalio warns that governments across the globe are planning to outlaw Bitcoin because the financial elite cannot tolerate something that they don’t have monopoly control over. “Every country treasures its monopoly on controlling the supply and demand. They don’t want other monies to be operating or competing,” Dalio told Yahoo Finance. “So, I think that it would be very likely that you will have it, under a certain set of circumstances, outlawed the way gold was outlawed,” he added. Dalio cited the 1934 Gold Reserve Act, which ended all private holding and use of gold as money....
