Utah’s mask mandate will end April 10 after the Republican governor signed a bill that lays out a new timeline for lifting some of the state’s CCP virus restrictions.
Masks orders will remain in place for schools and gatherings of more than 50 people. Businesses can also choose to require them. Gov. Spencer Cox signed the measure on Wednesday, the same day that vaccinations opened to all people aged 16 and older.
Suffer the little children in schools, however.
Damn.
Well NevaDUH can’t be far behind. Right? LOL! Probably not much of an issue in Virginia City Friday and Saturday night. Come on up to the Red Dog! WOO HOO!
why a timeline? why not today? it’ll still be unsafe for the next 15 days and suddenly the next day it’s safe?
“Mister Governor, Tear Off These MASKS!!!”
FREEDOM!!!!!
What took so long working up the courage?!
That’s nice of him of to a little of their freedom back.
We shouldn’t be grateful for stuff like this. What they took was ours to start with. At best, our response should be “About time, you slimebag.”
Stop trying to apply logical reasoning to government. Lol.
“About time, you slimebag.”
BUMP!
I just got back from Wally World - no sign requiring masks, so I didn’t wear mine. Me and one big, beautiful, badass black woman were the ONLY two without masks. Fist bumps.
Now you have me thinking about walking into the store
“unmasked!!” My heart just skipped a beat.
Not free until business complies with freedom. The government still has limited chains in this bill.
In October 2015, Cox endorsed Marco Rubio for the Republican Party nomination in the 2016 presidential primary.[18] After Rubio withdrew, Cox endorsed Ted Cruz in March 2016.[19] Of Donald Trump, the front-runner, Cox said: “We care a lot about decorum. We care about our neighbors. We are a good, kind people. He does not represent neither goodness nor kindness.”[20] He said he would not support Trump if he wins the Republican nomination: “I think he’s disingenuous. I think he’s dangerous. I think he represents the worst of what our great country stands for... I won’t vote for Hillary, but I won’t vote for Trump, either.”[21]
On June 13, 2016, Cox spoke at a vigil in Salt Lake City honoring those who died in the Orlando nightclub shooting the day before. He surprised many when he apologized for mistreating schoolmates and his lack of support for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.[22][23] He aimed part of his speech at the “straight community”:[24]
Dined at a Red Lobster in Utah. Greeter (kid) scans forehead and asks you to put a mask on until seated. We give him “The Look” and he says, “Yeah, I know, but its the rules. We are led into a room full of maskless people about 20 feet away. He just looks at us and rolls his eyes. Not all the kids today are stupid.
Utah’s previous governor kept the mandates in order to keep the flow of Fed emergency dollars flowing in. The current gov is charitably described as a moderate.
Not good enough. Young people have the fewest problems with the virus, so let school kids breathe.
“Hey, Guv’nor-—leave those kids alone!”
