Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said Wednesday it would invest $10 billion over the next decade in businesses and organizations that benefit Black women. The commitment is meant to channel capital and resources toward a group that has historically faced challenges accessing them. Goldman Sachs GS plans to invest in housing, healthcare and other programs with the ultimate goal of narrowing the wealth gap between Black women and others. The bank also will commit $100 million to philanthropy. Investments could include, for example, a company that reskills home-care workers, an industry that employs many Black women; a community-development financial institution in...

Source: Myra AdamsEvangelical Christians, who once were content with staying out of earthly concerns, have grown into an influential subset of American politics. Not all who identify with this label vote in unison. They voted in large numbers in 1976 for Jimmy Carter, but reversed course in 1980 and went for Ronald Reagan. In subsequent elections, a majority has voted for Republican candidates. In the 2020 election, this subset created a new subset. They called themselves "Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden." Their members include Jerusha Duford, the granddaughter of the late Reverend Billy Graham -- the evangelist who came to regret...

January 20, 2021. President Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th president of the United States. The scene, however, is devoid of any human presence. The streets of Washington DC are empty. People had been urged to stay at home and Americans throughout the rest of the country asked not to come. The city is under the protection of 25,000 members of the National Guard, heavily armed. High barriers topped with razor wire surround the Capitol area. In the streets planned for the new president’s “parade”, barriers separate the sidewalks from the roadway. The only people visible are men...

Parler, the Free-speech alternative to Twitter, has been denied re-entry into Apple’s App Store after a recent review. According to Bloomberg, Parler had made several internal changes before requesting review to Apple ... However, Apple denied re-entry to their App Store due to “racist content” they allegedly found on Parler’s platform ... So, according to Apple, their standard is that they won’t allow a platform where any of its users post anything “racist”? So, given the fact that Twitter, Parler’s “not racist” alternative, is currently on the App Store, I can only assume that I won’t be able to find...

A lot has been said about the harm to people resulting from government lockdowns imposed in the name of fighting COVID-19. However, lockdowns aren't the only misguided policies that we've had and continue to endure because of this pandemic. In fact, we will suffer many tragic effects from the pandemic-induced changes long after lockdowns are lifted and the coronavirus is endemic. The case against lockdowns is pretty well established. In fact, contrary to accusations issued by lockdown advocates, one doesn't have to believe that COVID-19 isn't a serious disease to oppose lockdowns. Nor does one have to make the claim...

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti described himself as “ecstatic” over the $1.35 billion that the city will receive from the $1.9 trillion “COVID relief” bill passed by Congress on Wednesday and set to be signed into law by President Joe Biden. Coronavirus relief bills have been enacted repeatedly for a year, mostly by President Donald Trump, and often after delays by Democrats, who were reluctant to see Trump take any political credit. The new bill, however, includes payments to cities and states, as well as pension bailouts for unions, and money devoted to long-term “progressive” Democratic Party policies.

Since its start in 1974, with Jack Nicklaus' historic victory over J.C. Snead, THE PLAYERS Championship has been one of the PGA TOUR's most coveted titles. After winning the inaugural event, Nicklaus would go on to win the title every other year until 1978. Nicklaus remains the only three-time winner of THE PLAYERS.

Trump’s warning of a "spiraling tsunami" is right on the mark. President Biden is creating an unprecedented man-made disaster at the U.S.-Mexico border – not merely a “challenge” as Biden officials like to call it. Biden has rolled out the welcome mat to illegal aliens as well as to would-be asylum-seekers with dubious claims. His reckless policies like catch and release, reversal of the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” program, and his open arms extended to unaccompanied illegal alien minors are huge magnets. Biden is enticing hordes of illegal aliens to make the journey to what they view as their...

WASHINGTON, Sunday, March 10. The question of reinforcing Fort Sumpter has been under consideration in the Cabinet, and it is understood that the question whether or no it is not desirable to withdraw all the troops, except two or three men, rather than incur the bloodshed which will probably occur before troops and supplies are put into it, is now to be decided. The immediate necessity of settling this question grows out of the fact that there is only a limited supply of bread at Fort Sumpter, but plenty of salt meat, and that it must either be re-supplied or...

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) is expected set to sign a bill on Thursday banning transgender athletes from competing on girls and women’s sports teams. The legislation calls on K-12 schools, as well as colleges and universities, to designate all sports teams for men and boys, women and girls or “coed.” It states that “Athletic teams or sports designated for ‘females,’ ‘women’ or ‘girls’ shall not be open to students of the male sex.” The bill passed the state’s Senate last month, and Mississippi House lawmakers passed the bill last week. The bill will go into effect on July 1...

How long will President Joe Biden's handlers keep shielding him from White House news conferences? Just how long will the "Hide Biden" strategy last? No modern president has gone this far into a term without holding a real news conference, according to The Associated Press. And of course, being The Associated Press, this is described as "discipline," not avoidance. It is described by a sympathetic press ally as a White House "strategy." But it is avoidance. And the fact is, he should be having news conferences. And by news conferences, I don't mean questions he can ignore as he's led...

Oprah Winfrey's interview with Queen Elizabeth II's grandson Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and his American wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was a real insight into the couple, and what was revealed was unflattering to both. These two healthy, handsome and incredibly wealthy people, who enjoy a lavish lifestyle unknown to all but a tiny fraction of a percentage of the population of the entire world, came across as ungrateful, shallow and shockingly self-absorbed. Using an internationally broadcast interview to air personal grievances, hurts and slights -- real or perceived -- is indescribably shabby. Instead of resolving their...

For the third time this year, President Joe Biden will mark a landmark moment in the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering his first primetime address Thursday night to recognize one year since widespread shutdowns began across the United States and to ask Americans to help with "what comes next." "I'm gonna launch the next phase of the COVID response and explain what we will do as a government and what we will ask of the American people," Biden said on Wednesday, previewing his remarks. "There is light at the end of this dark tunnel of the past year. But we cannot let...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that the sexual harassment allegations against New York Gov.
