Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti described himself as “ecstatic” over the $1.35 billion that the city will receive from the $1.9 trillion “COVID relief” bill passed by Congress on Wednesday and set to be signed into law by President Joe Biden.
Coronavirus relief bills have been enacted repeatedly for a year, mostly by President Donald Trump, and often after delays by Democrats, who were reluctant to see Trump take any political credit. The new bill, however, includes payments to cities and states, as well as pension bailouts for unions, and money devoted to long-term “progressive” Democratic Party policies.

Billions will be siphoned off by corrupt politicians. No wonder he’s ecstatic.
He’ll prop up his voters state and union pension plans, build a building with his name on it, and that will be that.

This is bad. We have fiat funny money being printed out of nothing by the feds to pay state and local politicians to lock us up and choke the economy to death.
Exactly. That’s why they’re there. Its all about graft, corruption and self-interest. Its why they run for office and desperately hold on to their jobs.
Its endemic now. The whole system is hopelessly corrupt.
When I visited Brazil Fall 2000 a little old lady asked, “How do you like my country?”

She said, “but it is very corrupt”
Now I say WE ARE BRAZIL!
Very little of this will trickle down to the people that need it. It will fill the coffers of Community Organizers that do not know how to really help people out of poverty. The main goal of NGO’s is to keep their doors open by creating more poverty. If the Poverty crisis was solved they’d be out of a job.
Fixing elections isn’t cheap. If anyone wondered where that money came from, now we know.
So now we’re treating our grandkids just like the Muslims would - enslavement (sexual, financial). The Democrat Socialists have turned our kids into indentured servants.

It’s not like history has never warned us of the outcome. This is a lesson that must be relearned, every few generations or so. And that is why the United States of America was set up as a representative republic, with total dependence on free and fair elections by persons who are informed and aware of their responsibilities.
So few of those conditions yet remain.
Many people in this country erroneously think the Leftist takeover is just a passing thing and that we’ll restore the country back to normal after they’re voted out. Nope, the damage has been done. We are no different from the banana republics we used to scoff at.
Happy to rob retirement funds of red state workers to enable blue state politicians, unions and bums. Our dollars soon won’t be worth piasters! (Piasters: South Vietnam paper currency before surrender.)
