ARLINGTON, Va.—Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today issued the following statement from Dan Pearson, AFP Trade Policy Fellow, on the Biden administration’s decision to suspend tariffs previously imposed on billions of dollars of EU goods stemming from the Boeing-Airbus dispute. The move has prompted the EU to follow suit, setting the stage for settlement of the dispute and further opening trade markets. The suspension will last four months while the countries attempt to resolve the matter: “Again, we applaud the Biden administration for moving to reduce burdensome tariffs and put an end to the trade war that has harmed American businesses,...

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) could be facing a growing scandal similar to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D). Both governors forced nursing homes in their state to take in COVID-positive patients. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido is contemplating bringing charges against Whitmer for any of the deaths associated with the decision. The problem, however, is HIPAA laws prevent the prosecutor's office from receiving vital information about a patient's death. The only way Lucido's office would receive the information is if a relative lodged a wrongful death complaint with the local police department. In order for charges to be brought...

Like most new racial history exercises, land acknowledgments are less about a true reflection of the past than grievance politics and superficial gestures.Leftist media was all aglow on Feb. 23, when Interior Department Secretary nominee Deb Haaland began her testimony before the Senate by stating: “I acknowledge that we are on the ancestral homelands of the Nacotchtank, Anacostan, and Piscataway people.”A Vox article gushed: “It’s likely the first time a Cabinet nominee acknowledged tribal lands upon testifying before the Senate.” An indigenous activist in the Washington Post called it a “rebuke of … the countless politicians and bureaucrats who dedicated...

Sen. Rand Paul, one of the most outspoken Republicans about government spending, took to Twitter Sunday to ask if Congress’ borrowing is putting the U.S. economy on the same path as Venezuela's. "New 1,000,000 bolivar note in Venezuela worth 53 cents," Paul tweeted, while linking to a Bloomberg report on hyperinflation in Caracas. "Will US be the next Venezuela with Congress borrowing over $6 trillion in one year?" Paul’s comments came just a day after the Senate passed President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill in a 50-49 vote.

Senator asks USAID pick Samantha Power about 'advocating on behalf of a foreign sanctioned entity.' The Biden administration’s nomination of Samantha Power to head the United States Agency for International Development is facing congressional scrutiny amid allegations the former Obama administration’s United Nations ambassador personally lobbied to remove a terror-designated group from the U.S. sanctions list. A series of redacted emails obtained by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) as part of an investigation into a nonprofit group that granted U.S. taxpayer funds to the Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA), a terror-tied charity sanctioned by the American government, allegedly show that Power...

White evangelicals are the least likely faith group in the United States to get vaccinated for COVID-19, according to a new study from the Pew Research Center. Additional data sent to The Christian Post from a Pew survey conducted in February of 10,121 U.S. adults found that 54% of white evangelicals “definitely or probably” plan on getting vaccinated or already have received at least one vaccination shot, the lowest of any religious demographic surveyed. Overall, 64% of black Americans surveyed said they would “definitely or probably” get vaccinated or already have been, along with 77% of Catholics and 71% of...

It has now been revealed that Joe Biden’s famous German Shepherds were removed from the White House and sent back to Delaware last week due to ‘aggressive behavior and a biting incident.’ The two German Shepherds belonging to President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were returned to the Biden family home in Delaware last week after aggressive behavior at the WH involving Major Biden, two sources with knowledge tell CNN’s @KateBennett_DC. — Ana Cabrera (@AnaCabrera) March 9, 2021

It’s now confirmed that the FBI used a known drug addict in an effort to set up and bring down the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and anyone connected to him. This is today’s FBI – set up innocent individuals with crimes while ignoring real obvious crimes like those involved in the 2020 election. In late February documents were released surrounding one of the FBI’s spies hired to set up and discredit members of the Trump team in 2016. The Conservative Treehouse noted: The FBI documents outline how Stefan Halper was enlisted by the FBI for their...

To be totally candid, it was hard for me to believe the headline was real. “Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden: ‘We feel used and betrayed.’”Seriously? They “feel used and betrayed” because the pro-abortion president they helped put in office did exactly what he said he would do? They “feel used and betrayed” because he carried out his campaign promises? They “feel used and betrayed” because he stayed true to the Democratic Platform?I could understand feeling embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated at their extreme naivety. But “used and betrayed”?Joe Biden made it absolutely clear that he was running as a pro-abortion president....

Maybe it's not great for us if foreign adversaries see him too much in his weakened state. Save him for when he is alert and able to handle the pressures of public speaking.resident Joe Biden forgot the name of his defense secretary yesterday (Lloyd Austin), as well as where Austin works (the Pentagon). The other day, his handlers abruptly cut his video rather than let him answer questions from his fellow Democratic elected officials. His team won’t allow him to host a press conference, even knowing that the White House press team couldn’t be friendlier to the man who replaced the...

CNN provided a platform for NYU medical ‘ethics’ professor Arthur Caplan Sunday, who argued that Americans skeptical of taking the COVID vaccine will soon come around and accept it if their freedoms otherwise remain restricted.Caplan argued that allowing people to have their freedoms returned after lockdown is the most “powerful incentive” to push the vaccine.“If you promise people more mobility, more ability to get a job, more ability to get travel, that’s a very powerful incentive to actually achieve fuller vaccination,” Caplan told Fareed Zakaria. The segment even began with the infamous ‘show me your papers’ scene from the movie...

On Monday, Republicans in the New York State Assembly announced an impeachment resolution against Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), saying the governor has lost “credibility and trust” and has therefore lost the ability to lead the state during the COVID-19 pandemic. While Republicans only have a minority in both the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate, many Democrats have demanded Cuomo’s resignation, and the governor has refused to step down. “We’re going to introduce this resolution because we believe the time has come,” State Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay said in a press conference on Monday. “In order...

Democratic leaders are cheering the imminent final passage of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill, with the White House calling it the “most progressive” bill in US history and Republicans using the same claim to bash it. The partisan posturing over the bill and its legacy is shaping up ahead of anticipated final passage in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Recently the books 1984 and Animal Farm have had a rebirth of relevance. Orwell’s books coined words and phrases that have become descriptive of what is happening now -- doublethink, Ministry of Truth, Big Brother, thought criminal, Newspeak, and, of course, Orwellian.Another book with a similar theme was written in 1944 by the Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek -- The Road to Serfdom. Hayek was born in Austria in 1898 and spent most of his life in England and America. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics in 1974 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1991.Orwell’s 1984 and Animal...

As businesses struggle to keep their doors open and employees on the payroll, Congress is about to deal a major blow to thousands of businesses across the country resulting in significant job loss and stripping away employees’ right to privacy if they enact the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Despite the name of the legislation, the PRO Act goes far beyond just extending the union rights of employees. While the legislation attempts to increase union density and leverage, it fails to consider the negative impact it would have on workers, businesses and the U.S. economy. The bill would...

The federal stimulus package likely to be signed by President Biden this week will erase the majority of San Francisco’s projected $650 million budget deficit over the next two years, saving City Hall from having to make painful service cuts and layoffs — for now. While the federal stimulus is a boon for the economy in the short term, it will not solve all of the city’s financial woes. San Francisco’s ultimate recovery heavily depends on how quickly parts of the local economy bounce back, from tourists visiting the city to employees returning to downtown offices. The $1.9 trillion COVID-19...

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “tear down” the wall surrounding the U.S. Capitol, highlighting the hypocrisy of Democrats who spent the last four years decrying such boundaries as unacceptable, particularly on the U.S. border. “You protect what you love,” Boebert said in the newly released ad outside of the U.S. Capitol. “President Trump built a big, beautiful wall because he loves America and he wanted to secure our country and protect us from drugs, illegal aliens pouring into our communities, and sex traffickers.” “Democrats, they fought him every step of the way. And now, welcome...
