The RIA news agency reported that Blake died in Russia, citing the country’s SVR foreign intelligence agency. “We received some bitter news – the legendary George Blake passed away,” it said. Blake was the last in a line of British spies to operate secretly for the Soviet Union, exposing the identities of hundreds of western agents across eastern Europe in the 1950s and humiliating the intelligence establishment when his work was discovered at the height of the cold war. Some of the...

Republicans like to mock Modern Monetary Theory—the idea that government can print money with impunity, that government can spend whatever it wants without the need to tax. Modern Monetary Theory is basically the Dick Cheney “deficits don’t matter” crowd trussed up with a new fancy title. Most Republican rightly lampoon this quackery—that is, when they’re not practicing the quackery themselves. Today many of these same Republicans will vote for a bill that makes Modern Monetary Theory look like child’s play in comparison. This bill is free money for everyone. Proponents don’t care if you’re fully employed or own your own...

The Washington Post has joined the chorus of Joe Biden’s supporters who are warning him not to implement his campaign trail promise to recklessly dismantle President Donald Trump’s hard-earned, pr0-American border reforms. Biden “must also avoid triggering a new humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border featuring unauthorized Central Americans and Mexicans streaming north,” the Post’s editorial board said in a column on December 24.The statement continued:Any sudden move to abolish [Trump’s] policy without an orderly system to replace it could be read as a green light that would invite more migrants than the U.S. bureaucracy can process. Nor is it...

NEW YORK (AP) — The Girl Scouts are in a “highly damaging” recruitment war with the Boy Scouts after the latter opened its core services to girls, leading to marketplace confusion and some girls unwittingly joining the Boy Scouts, lawyers for the century-old Girl Scouts organization claim in papers filed in a federal court. The competition, more conjecture than reality two years ago, has intensified as the Boy Scouts of America organization — which insists recruits pledge to be “trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous and kind” — has unfairly recruited girls lately, according to claims in legal briefs filed on...

VIDEODue to astounding mismanagement by YouTube which is alienating many of its creators via lack of promotion and/or censorship in which vague rules are selectively enforced to the detriment of the "You" in YouTube, many creators are now in the process of moving to Rumble where they don't have to be worried about a Big Brother attitude.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The theater industry is celebrating after congressional leaders announced that a major funding package known as the "Save Our Stages Act" would be included in the stimulus bill expected to be approved on Monday. For months, industry leaders and local elected officials have clamored for a federal bailout of performing arts venues, which face an existential crisis as the coronavirus pandemic has shut down nearly all live events since the spring. On Sunday, Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed that the agreement with congressional Republicans included $15 billion in funding for...

President Trump on Saturday defended his veto of the National Defense Authorization Act, calling it a "travesty" and again claiming it is a "gift" to China, Russia and Big Tech companies. Trump urged lawmakers, who may override his veto next week, to revamp the bipartisan bill. "Our $740 [billion] defense bill is a gift to China, Russia & Big Tech," he tweeted. "It fails to terminate the internationally dangerous Section 230, won’t allow us to bring our troops back home (where they belong), renames & destroys our forts & National Monuments, & makes 5G almost impossible!"

What if thousands of Patriots gathered in Georgia and forced their way into the rooms where the voting machines are and seized them all? They could all be placed in a secure location while negotiating the examination of them. In the meantime the votes could be counted the old fashioned way, or given to a big accounting firm

With movie theaters closed, the cutthroat competition for Christmas 2020 viewers is focused on streaming. Last year Netflix dominated the holidays at home with the big-budget, high-profile fantasy “The Witcher.” This time, the champ is back with a whole new type of fantasy series with an adaptation of the Regency romance series of novels known as “Bridgerton.” ........................................................ “Bridgerton” features none of these fig leaves. The series is the second Netflix title from Shonda Rhimes, best known for steamy ABC shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and “How To Get Away With Murder.” Here, she unapologetically serves up joyous sentimentality and...

Brit Hume @brithume With apologies to Shakespeare, it will be said of Trump that nothing in his presidency became him less than the leaving of it. Quote Tweet Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump · 2h The U.S. Supreme Court has been totally incompetent and weak on the massive Election Fraud that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election. We have absolute PROOF, but they don’t want to see it - No “standing”, they say. If we have corrupt elections, we have no country! 9:31 AM · Dec 26, 2020·Twitter for iPad

Going forward into 2021, it will be interesting to see just how the left plans to deal with the pseudo-pandemic. The way I see it, they have two options. Well, I guess actually three, but the third is a non-starter, which is coming clean and admitting to everyone that they lied about the severity of COVID for most of the population and they purposely inflated both the contraction and death rates to gain an election advantage. The other two are 1: Now that a Democrat is president (assuming this ends up being the case), COVID will magically begin to lose...

Megan Rapinoe, Billie Jean King, and 174 other female athletes signed an amicus brief in support of transgender girls and women playing sports as their gender identity. “As women and LGBTQ+ athletes,” says their brief, they “submit that all youth deserve an equal opportunity to participate in sports alongside their peers. Such equal opportunity benefits the entire sports community.” The brief was filed in Hecox v. Little, a lawsuit brought against the state of Idaho, which passed a law this year banning transgender girls and women from competing in school sports as girls and women. The law also allows for...

WASHINGTON, Tuesday, Dec. 25. Christmas Day has been very dull, and everybody seems to be gloomy. Very many gentlemen have gone home to spend the holidays. The investigation has been pursued in the matter of the frauds at the Department of the Interior to-day. Nothing beyond the amount first mentioned has yet been discovered. A rumor has been current for the past three days of frauds in the Treasury Department, but it is without foundation, so far as I can learn. No investigation has been instituted, as stated, in that Department. RUSSELL has gone to jail for want of bonds;...

An explosion shook the largely deserted streets of downtown Nashville early Christmas morning, shattering windows, damaging buildings, and wounding three people. Authorities said they believed the blast was intentional. The FBI is leading the investigation. The police came across a suspicious RV parked outside a nearby AT&T building near Second Avenue and Commerce Street before 6 a.m., when initially responding to calls of shots fired in the area, said Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron. There was no immediate evidence of any shooting but officers alerted the department’s bomb squad, which was en route when a “significant explosion” happened about 30...
