George Blake, notorious cold war double agent, dies aged 98
The Guardian ^ | December 26, 2020

The former British spy and Soviet Union double agent George Blake has died at the age of 98.

The RIA news agency reported that Blake died in Russia, citing the country’s SVR foreign intelligence agency. “We received some bitter news – the legendary George Blake passed away,” it said.

Blake was the last in a line of British spies to operate secretly for the Soviet Union, exposing the identities of hundreds of western agents across eastern Europe in the 1950s and humiliating the intelligence establishment when his work was discovered at the height of the cold war.

Some of the agents Blake exposed were executed as a result of his treason, making him one of the most notorious double agents of the era, alongside the ring of double agents known as the Cambridge Five.

“died at the age of 98”

Musta been a real life James Bond. I would imagine the life expectancy of someone in that line of work is a lot shorter than 98.....I’ll be thrilled if I make it to 80.

“Blake” was an assumed name. His real family name was Behar. His father was a Sephardic Jew from Turkey or Egypt or thereabouts, nobody seems to know for sure.

How weak we are in the West. Anyone helping him escape should have been put down like dogs in the public square, and a million dollars should have been offered for every death of anyone he ever loved, but him last. There simply must be a cost to this treason.

Ian Fleming was.

You ever watch this movie?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100567/

Ian Fleming’s life (1908-64) as journalist and naval intelligence officer was a lot like the womanizing James Bond, he would later write 12 spy novels about.

“ making him one of the most notorious double agents of the era”

Now they just openly rig elections to get their sympathizers into office. Old Uncle Joe to the new Uncle Joe. Nikita is laughing in Hell.

Yep!
I knew that Kerr Avon, Vila, Jenna, Cally, Dayna, Del, Olag, and Soolin were long gone, but had no idea Roj was still with us...

“When are they going to admit MI5 head Roger Hollis was a Russian mole?”

Good question. Almost everything I have read (more than 25 books on Cold War espionage) about MI5 and MI6 points in that direction.

Hunter Biden is 50. I wonder whether he will get a similar obituary in 48 years.

BINGO!!! Cambridge bitches were auto-vetted simply because they went to Cambridge! British SUCK! J. Edgar flatly refused to share information with the Brits who were fagged-Soviet spies because he did not believe the Brits were not compromised! Ultimately, Hoover he was forced to comply and US agents died.
