Many progressives bristled at Steyer being in the race — he’s a former hedge funder, though he turned to activism years ago — but it was Bloomberg who really set off a firestorm. He came into the race in November as the billionaire white knight no one invited to the party (at least not any of the cool kids). Over the past few months, it has really felt like Bloomberg is everywhere — even in New York City, where he is a known quantity and which votes on April 28, you watch a half-hour of Jeopardy in the evening and...

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is deciding whether to continue her presidential campaign, an aide told The Daily Beast on Wednesday. “Elizabeth is talking to her team to assess the path forward,” the aide said. The development comes after the latest round of disappointing finishes on Super Tuesday where Warren not only failed to win a single contest, she came in third in her home state of Massachusetts , behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, announced on Wednesday he's suspending his presidential campaign, although he has promised that his presence is sure to be felt through November. "Three months ago, I entered the race for President to defeat Donald Trump," Bloomberg said in a statement. "Today, I am leaving the race for the same reason: to defeat Donald Trump – because it is clear to me that staying in would make achieving that goal more difficult." The decision follows a disappointing Super Tuesday. Bloomberg threw his support behind former Vice President Joe Biden, who had...

Doubling down on comments made in a Hulu documentary she had filmed before the 2020 primary season, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' campaign is "just baloney." In an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" with host Linsey Davis, the former 2016 presidential candidate said that her opinion of Sanders and his campaign has not changed. "That was my authentic opinion then; it's my authentic opinion now," she said.

Chicago authorities are defending their ongoing refusal to cooperate with federal immigration officials, even after an illegal alien they released from custody was arrested and charged with raping a three-year-old girl in a restaurant bathroom. According to this, 34-year-old Christopher Puente, a Mexican national living illegally in the United States and arrested for theft, was released by Chicago police in 2019 after the department ignored an ICE detainer per the city’s sanctuary policies that prohibit local cooperation with federal immigration officials. Puente was then arrested again in February for reportedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in a McDonald’s bathroom. He has been...

The first nine coronavirus deaths in the U.S. show the biggest risks are not traveling internationally, riding mass transit or attending a crowded event. The most dangerous place to be is in a rehab or nursing home. The second-most dangerous is a hospital. Five residents of the Life Care Center, a nursing facility in Kirkland, Washington, have died, and some 50 other residents and staff members there reportedly have coronavirus symptoms. Be on the alert for more deadly outbreaks in nursing homes wherever coronavirus, now dubbed COVID-19, spreads. Nursing homes are infection cauldrons. Most nursing facilities ignore precautions like separating...

Hollywood director Spike Lee should do the right thing and stop demonizing African Americans who support President Trump. On his Instagram account the BlaKkKlansmen director posted a photo of African American Trump supporters praying with the president so he could bash them for all his followers to see. The photo -- posted to Spike’s “officialspikelee” account on Monday, March 3 -- depicted prominent black conservatives Diamond & Silk, Terrence K. Williams and others who were in town to celebrate Black History Month with the President and First Lady. Lee’s disparaging caption painted the African American White House guests as ignorant...

A Loudener? "The Loudener" for your AR, so what is this? Just as it sounds, when the gun is fired it is "LOUD". Watch the video below and turn up your speakers, it almost sounds like from a .50 cal. They say you can feel the blast from it as well. The "Loudener" was design by Owen Martin of Snake-Hound Machine a New Hampshire based company that has made a huge splash with its AK. Here's the makeup to make your AR loud. Muzzle Brake Single Chamber – allows expanding gasses to burn outside the barrel (see the video above)....

I will concentrate today on the economics of higher education—why it is so costly, and a few things we can do about it. When I entered Northwestern University over six decades ago, the tuition fee was $795 a year, which is under $7,000 in current dollars. Today, Northwestern’s annual tuition, excluding room and board, is $56,232—eight times as much. A similar pattern exists with state schools. When I started teaching at my state school, Ohio University, in the mid-1960s, the tuition fee of $450 was less than one-third what it is today, adjusting for inflation. The higher education establishment usually...

In a Feb. 28 press statement, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a remarkable offer. America "stands with the people of Iran during the public health crisis caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)," the statement said. The U.S. government "is prepared to assist the Iranian people in their response efforts." The ayatollah regime quickly rejected the offer, calling it "a political-psychological game." Pompeo's offer certainly had a public relations facet. It all but said for the dictatorship to step aside and let those who can do. But to cynically dismiss the offer as mere public relations...

HONG KONG - Animal health experts said on Wednesday a quarantined dog of a coronavirus patient in Hong Kong could be the first case of human-to-animal transmission, although they cautioned the matter remained under investigation. The dog does not yet have any symptoms. Animal health experts examining the Hong Kong case said pet owners should not be overly concerned and should not abandon their pets. The Agriculture Department said it would conduct further tests to confirm whether the dog has been infected with coronavirus, and that there is no evidence pets can be a source of infection.

Way back, in January, BEFORE Xi's announcements, I noted that the novel Coronavirus (nCov) had reached an inflection point and would soon be declining. I had even waited a few days to confirm the trend. Over the last few days, there have been only 10 official cases outside Wuhan province, and only a few hundred each day inside Wuhan. The great Chinese lie wasn't that nCov wasn't destroying civilization; it was that it wasn't nearly as contagious as the Chinese were letting on. We can see that now in South Korea and Italy. There's less data, and it's less centralized,...

Marianne Williamson (D) blasted coverage of Joe Biden’s (D) Super Tuesday success, stating plainly that his rise should not be considered a “resurrection” but the result of a “coup.” “Jake Tapper referred to the ‘resurrection’ of Joe Biden’s campaign,” the former presidential candidate and self-help guru said in a now-deleted Tweet on Tuesday night.
