BRUSSELS - - Amid fierce criticism from environmental activists, the European Commission unveiled plans Wednesday for its first ever climate law, which will act as the basis of the European Union’s aim to make the 27-country bloc climate neutral by 2050. Under its Green Deal agenda, the EU’s executive arm wants to legislate to make its ambition of cutting greenhouse gas emissions to zero by mid-century irreversible, and legally-binding for all member states. “This climate law will set in stone Europe’s position as a climate leader on the global stage,” said European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. To finance...

WINNING Alert! – In a meeting with top House and Senate Republicans Tuesday night, Politico reports that President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) made it clear he will not support a so-called “clean renewal” of the FISA act. That is, of course, a direct contradiction to the position assumed by the increasingly swampy-smelling Attorney General, William Barr. Fast Mail Tab Access your Email now from your new tab From the Politico report: “The president made it exceedingly clear he will not accept a clean re-authorization … without real reform,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), told...

The key takeaways from the Super Tuesday result so far… Joe Biden won significantly, and it looks like those wins were by design. The media are amplifying a strong Biden narrative on behalf of the professional political class within the DNC Club.

During CNN’s Super Tuesday coverage, CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama adviser David Axelrod stated that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) “is not growing” and “not building on what he did before, and that would be a big concern.” Axelrod said, “[T]he last thing I just want to say about Bernie Sanders is, I would be concerned, and I’ve been saying this every single contest. Maine maybe — have been a false positive, but he didn’t perform — he underperformed in Iowa. He underperformed in New Hampshire. You know, he won 86% of the vote in...

Plastic plants need love, too. They don’t, however, need water. There’s something great about buying a plant, taking care of it and actually having it survive for more than a week or two. So, imagine the shock that one woman must have felt when she realized that a plant she had been caring for and watering for two years was actually made out of plastic.

"Lowdown" is a song originally recorded in 1976 by Boz Scaggs for his album Silk Degrees. The song was co-written by Scaggs and keyboardist David Paich. Paich, along with fellow "Lowdown" session musicians bassist David Hungate and drummer Jeff Porcaro, would later go on to help form the band Toto. Initially, Silk Degrees received a lukewarm commercial response and, similarly, the first single released from the album, "It's Over" barely cracked the top 40 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, peaking at #38. One day, however, a Cleveland R&B radio DJ began playing "Lowdown" straight off the album. This...

On the Monday before Super Tuesday, longtime MSNBC host Chris Matthews came on the air and promptly, tartly announced he was retiring, that "tonight will be my last 'Hardball.'" His language and tone strongly implied he was being pushed out. Politically, it felt like part of a pattern. At the same time that Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar suddenly dropped out of the race in an apparent attempt to solidify the anti-Bernie Sanders vote, MSNBC was acting in the opposite direction, shedding a host that had become a liability with the Sanders socialists, who are a decent chunk of the...

AUSTIN, Texas — Republican Pierce Bush, a grandson of former President George H.W. Bush, failed to advance out of Tuesday’s primary in his bid for a Houston congressional seat, becoming the first member of his family to lose a race in Texas in more than 40 years. Aside from the recognition of coming from America’s most enduring Republican dynasty, Bush 34, was endorsed by the outgoing GOP incumbent, Rep. Pete Olson and raised more money than many of the other 14 candidates in the field. Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Donald Trump, advanced instead to the...

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — An employee at a Georgia fast-food restaurant shot a customer who was unhappy with his order, authorities said. The shooting happened around midnight at the Checkers off Candler Road in DeKalb County. The manager told Holloway the shooting started over a chicken wing order. Two men placed their order at the walk-up window and became upset when the order was wrong, according to the manager. She said they tried to remake the order when the two men started yelling at employees. The manager said they opened the window back up, and one of the men threw...

February 25, 2020 - 03:02 PM EST Joe Walsh: 'I'd rather have a socialist in the White House than a con man' BY JUSTINE COLEMAN Former presidential candidate Joe Walsh criticized fellow Republicans who labeled themselves as "never Trump" for considering a vote for President Trump if Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the Democratic 2020 nominee. Walsh, a former Illinois congressman, wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Tuesday that he'd "rather have a socialist in the White House than a con man." He went on to chide his fellow "never Trump" party members for what he sees as their wavering...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalm 119 Psalm 119[a] צ Tsadhe 137 You are righteous, Lord,     and your laws are right. 138 The statutes you have laid down are righteous;     they are fully trustworthy. 139 My zeal wears me out,     for my enemies ignore your words. 140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested,     and your servant loves them. 141 Though I am lowly and despised,     I do not forget your precepts. 142 Your righteousness is everlasting     and your law is true. 143 Trouble and distress have come upon me,     but your commands give me delight. 144 Your statutes are always righteous;     give...

Morning "My grace is sufficient for thee." 2 Corinthians 12:9 If none of God's saints were poor and tried, we should not know half so well the consolations of divine grace. When we find the wanderer who has not where to lay his head, who yet can say, "Still will I trust in the Lord;" when we see the pauper starving on bread and water, who still glories in Jesus; when we see the bereaved widow overwhelmed in affliction, and yet having faith in Christ, oh! what honour it reflects on the gospel. God's grace is illustrated and magnified in...

Joe Scarborough says it's wrong to describe Barack Obama as a "conservative sell-out." Agreed! He was and is a hardcore leftist who pushed the country as much as he could in that direction. On today's Morning Joe, chatting with former Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, Scarborough made an impassioned plea, suggesting that "after four years of Donald Trump, maybe we need to go back to square one with the Obama administration and then move forward from there."Get the rest of the story, and view the video here.

World Health Organization director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Monday that the “stigma” surrounding coronavirus was “more dangerous” than the illness itself, and advised people to “calm down.” “Stigma, to be honest, is more dangerous than the virus itself. Fear and panic are dangerous,” he said, as reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune. “It’s fine to be concerned and worried, but let’s calm down and do the right things.” Officials were optimistic about the global effort to contain the spread of the illness: Of the 62 countries affected by COVID-19, 55 have fewer than 100 cases. Only four countries have more...

From Hawaii to Pennsylvania, states are scrambling to blunt the impact, with roughly 700,000 people at risk of losing benefits unless they meet certain work, training or school requirements. They've filed a multi-state lawsuit, expanded publicly funded job training, developed pilot programs and doubled down efforts to reach vulnerable communities, including the homeless, rural residents and people of color.Richard Butler poses for a portrait in an apartment that a friend is letting him and his fiance live in on Chicago's Southside. Maybe I should say that South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn has. According to exit polls, 61% said Clyburn's endorsement of Biden was an "important factor" in their decision, and 27% said it was "the most important factor." Clyburn explained Biden is his friend and has been a reliable vote for government programs that blacks like. He also argued that with Biden on the ticket, reelection prospects for congressmen and congresswomen running for election down ticket would be better. "We need to keep the House speakership under Nancy Pelosi," said Clyburn. Now, the whole Democratic establishment is piling on to endorse...
