I am a Computer Programmer with 40+ years of experience. If I were allowed to program anything that tallied votes, the probability that a Democrat would ever win an election would be very low. But I haven't been allowed to tally votes, Democrats have; and IOWA has exposed them. ML/NJ

Posted on February 3, 2020 by Msgr. Charles Pope Our Deepest Fear At Mass on Sunday for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, we read a text from Hebrews that describes our most basic and primal fear. Our inordinate fear of what people think of us is rooted in an even deeper fear, one that is at the very core of our being. The Hebrews text both names it and describes it as being the source of our bondage. In order to unlock the secret of the text, I want to suggest to you an interpretation that...

President Donald Trump was chastised Monday after video footage showed him goofing off as the national anthem played during a Super Bowl party at his West Palm Beach golf resort. As everyone else around Trump (including his wife and youngest son) stood solemnly with their hands over their hearts, Trump fidgeted, waved his hands, pointed at people and pretended to conduct the music. The video of the president cutting up during the anthem, first reported by the Miami Herald, was part of an Instagram story posted by a real estate agent at the party, which was held for a select...

For its caucuses later this month, the Nevada Democratic Party (NDP) is planning to use an app similar to the one that contributed to the issues reporting the results of the Iowa caucuses on Monday night — and it has paid almost $60,000 to the same company that developed the Iowa app. Shadow Inc., a tech firm that describes itself as a group that creates "a permanent advantage for progressive campaigns and causes through technology," is the company that created the Iowa Democratic Party's app, according to The New York Times. The NDP is also planning to use an app...

A school principal in Cumberland County, N.S., is being criticized for throwing her school's athletic trophies and plaques into a dumpster, apparently as part of a space-making exercise. The discovery was made last Thursday night by Ashley Collins, a former student at Advocate District School who now has two daughters going to the primary-through-Grade-12 school. "I just couldn't believe that something like that would cross someone's mind to do such a thing," said Collins, who graduated from the school in 2007.

While speaking to reporters shortly after the Chiefs' victory on Sunday night, Reid said he “hadn’t even thought” about the potential visit. “I’ll be there. If they’re inviting us, I’ll be there. It’s quite an honor, I think,” he said.

Washington (CNN)Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will seize the national spotlight Tuesday evening when she delivers one of the Democratic Party's responses to the President's State of the Union address, drawing attention to a state her party is hoping to win back from Donald Trump this November. Party leaders announced last month that Whitmer will give the response to Trump's address in English while Democratic Rep. Veronica Escobar of Texas will deliver the response in Spanish. Traditionally, the speech is considered a coveted opportunity that allows rising party officials to voice their opposition to a presidency to a national audience. Previous...

The great architect Daniel Burnham is reported to have said, “Make no little plans, they have no magic to stir men’s blood.” These words are hardly surprising coming from a man famous for being one of the first to develop skyscrapers. He is right. A large, ambitious plan can inspire us and spur us on to action. One of the Old Testament’s most commonly cited verses is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” In fact, I have...

Pulling the Plug on Democrats’ Life Support The Democrats’ walls are not closing in—they are crumbling. And they are about to be overrun by the fierce army of the president’s millions of supporters. Conrad Black - February 3rd, 2020 On Wednesday the Democratic Party is scheduled to be removed from the life support system that has sustained it these past four years: the fraudulently and almost certainly illegally confected condition of Donald Trump being under a legal and ethical cloud. The wild aspersions about financial chicanery, misogyny, racism, rank ignorance, and incompetence, and the monstrous canard about “treason” with Russia,...

Baltimore County residents' have had their perceptions about where their glass ends up shattered. Over the weekend, news broke that the county—which does not include the City of Baltimore—has not been recycling the glass it's been collecting as part of its recycling program. For the past seven years, the jars and bottles that residents dutifully placed in their blue bins have been being junked instead. "There are numerous issues with glass recycling, including increased presence of shredded paper in recycling streams which contaminates materials and is difficult to separate from broken glass fragments, in addition to other limitations on providing...

During the Fox News Channel’s 2020 Iowa caucus coverage, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said that if 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden had won the Iowa caucuses, “we probably would have some results right now.” And that “if we’d have gotten these results, Joe Biden might have gotten out of the race tonight.” Gaetz said, “I mean, everyone from the Trump campaign that was out in these precincts got reports as to what was going on in the rooms with the Democrats. We’ve heard from a lot of our colleagues that Joe Biden was failing to meet...

Initially losing to Simonov’s AVS36, Tokarev's design was later retried and adopted as the SVT 38, later becoming the SVT 40 after the Finnish Winter War debacle that the Soviet Union found itself in, just prior to the Second World War. The SVT-40 saw widespread service during and after World War II. The initial reaction of the troops to this rifle was negative. Among the issues were that the rifle was too long and cumbersome, difficult to maintain, and the magazine had a tendency to fall out. In service, SVTs frequently suffered from vertical shot dispersion. The army reported that...

DW: Do you trust the official numbers of infections and deaths? Jiesi Luo*: I think there are many more infections and deaths from coronavirus than have been officially reported. When preliminary tests determine that a patient has a lung sickness, the nucleic acid test (NAT), which detects viruses, cannot always be carried out because the waiting list is too long. The patient is therefore not diagnosed. Furthermore, if someone dies from the lung sickness, and has not taken the NAT test, the fatality is not statistically registered as having been caused by the coronavirus... *Jiesi Luo (pseudonym) is a medical...
