A school principal in Cumberland County, N.S., is being criticized for throwing her school's athletic trophies and plaques into a dumpster, apparently as part of a space-making exercise.
The discovery was made last Thursday night by Ashley Collins, a former student at Advocate District School who now has two daughters going to the primary-through-Grade-12 school.
"I just couldn't believe that something like that would cross someone's mind to do such a thing," said Collins, who graduated from the school in 2007.

Of course not. Athletics are soooooo much more important that academics. We would not want to waste space for trophies by filling it with a library or something.

We had a school that did the same thing, but it was because they contained the name of their suddenly declared racist mascot.

Schools do it all the time. The history books I used in the 70’s have probably all been banned as racist and homophobic by now.
People research what Plumber they are going to Hire, what Contractor they are going to Hire and what Doctor they choose to treat their Family, yet they fail to research the People who have the Responsibility of Teaching their Children and who have Custody of them for 40 Hours every week.

Judging by her non-apology message, she can’t write English very well, either. Maybe the French version is better?
Let’s face it, most are just happy to have the urchins out of the house for a while. Dad’s nowhere to be found, and mom has at least a couple not old enough for school yet.
