  • Virginia AG Cuccinelli, Gov McDonnell Denounce Health Care Ruling

By LARRY O'DELL Associated Press RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia Republican leaders on Thursday denounced the U.S. Supreme Court's decision upholding President Barack Obama's health care overhaul as an assault on individual freedom, while a top Democrat said the ruling clears the way for improved access to health care. The court ruled 5-4 that the law requiring individuals to buy health insurance or pay a penalty is constitutional. Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli had argued to the contrary in a separate lawsuit that was tossed out by a federal appeals court. "This is a dark day for American liberty," Cuccinelli said in...

The United States of America ceased to exist this morning. America’s constitutional foundation had been whittled away over decades of judicial abuse and congressional mischief. There had been various rallies to resurrect the republic, to make government obedient to the express written will of The People. Hope reigned as long as the worst of legislative excesses were stalled and glimmers of fidelity were occasionally demonstrated by the Supreme Court. But when treason comes from those temporarily granted power, countries collapse and move toward one inevitable outcome. I don’t use language loosely. Words powerful as “treason” must be penned with accuracy...

Make no mistake President Obama and his administration handlers lied and sold America a tax deception disguised as a health care law that will usher in a new age of socialism and old style communistic practices that would make Stalin blush. With the U.S. Supreme Courts upholding of the bulk of the Obama-careless bill, Americans will be saddled with the largest taxation ever experienced in the history of this nation. Yet, how did we arrive at this precipitous juncture in a nation which has at its foundation set in constitutional bedrock to protect its citizens from the nefarious acts of...

U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, in commenting on the dissent in the Obamacare case said, “In our view, the entire Act before us is invalid in its entirety.” He made his remark inside the Court on Thursday. In the written dissent, it states, “we would find the Act invalid in its entirety. We respectfully dissent.” President Barack Obama’s signature legislation – the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act -- including the controversial individual mandate requiring that virtually all Americans buy health insurance or pay a penalty, was ruled constitutional by the U.S Supreme Court (5-4) on Thursday. Chief...

The country founded by our fathers is dead. So many _modernists_ articles posted already on this DC conquest, of a once free people. The heavily educated modernists _know_ that nothing evil has transpired as DC/USG shreaded the USConstitution, from the Reserve creation, Corporate Excise Tax of 1913 mutation into Individual Income Tax, Individual Withholding, Social Security, Medicare/Medicad, to DC complete control of individual HealthCare. We've come full circle and the majority of USAians don't really know what the root of the USSC decision; see above. USA has allowed the ongoing DC usurpation of the clear intent of USConstitution: a Federal...

I pointed out in extensive discussions after March 21, 2010 and throughout 2011 that the democrats were following the FDR playbook on Social Security in pushing Obamacare. I tried my best to point out that regardless of the Commerce Clause or any uniformity provisions of constitutional law, that the 16th Amendment would be used to characterize Obamacare as a tax. Our enemy are those that impose on us and acquiesce to the 16th Amendment. If you are for appealing the 16th Amendment, it does not mean you are a tax protester, it does not mean you are not wanting to...

Conservative Chief John Roberts single-handedly saved Obamacare today, siding with the liberal bloc of the Supreme Court to uphold the law, even though more moderate Justice Anthony Kennedy led the dissent. The steps of the Supreme Court this morning were packed with conservatives deeply disappointed by the ruling and hurt by the apparent betrayal of one of their own. ”I think a lot of Chief Justice Roberts. I think his whole history of jurisprudence is deserving of respect from this country — up to, and not necessarily including, this opinion today,” Rep. Steve King, a Republican from Iowa, told Salon....
  • Decades-old military plane wreckage found in Alaska glacier, may give families closure

    06/28/2012 10:21:07 AM PDT · by Kartographer · 16 replies
The wreckage of a military plane found this month on an Alaska glacier is that of an Air Force plane that crashed in 1952, killing all 52 people aboard, military officials said Wednesday. Army Capt. Jamie Dobson said evidence found at the crash site correlates with the missing C-124A Globemaster, but the military is not eliminating other possibilities because much investigation still needs to be done. Processing DNA samples from relatives of those on board the plane could take up to six years, Dobson said. "We're still at the very beginning of this investigation," she said. "This is very close...

Now that Chief Justice John Roberts has destroyed the boundary between the Judiciary and the Legislative Branches of the US Federal Government by changing a legally approved fine into a tax with no vote from the Legislature, there is no limit to what laws the SCOTUS can now reinterpret to their benefit. The Backdoor conversion of a fine in Obama"care" into a tax by Justice Roberts requires that the people convert the other Rogue rulings of the SOCTUS into rulings consistent with the US Constitution. Obviously this cannot be done by lawyers, as lawyers do not obey rules, they just...

The following quotes are from the paperback edition from Three Rivers Press (New York), ISBN 978-1-4000-8277-3. The content is also verifiable from Google Books. It is important to state up front, and reiterate later, that the racist content of Dreams from My Father is 100 percent consistent with Mr. Obama's open association with hate-mongers like Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton. Pages 99-101 of the book are particularly informative because Barack Obama talks very explicitly of his racial identity politics. He identifies very clearly as an African-American as opposed to a melting pot American, which makes him totally unqualified to be...

The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands. A new integration bill (covering letter and 15-page action plan), which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: "The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural...

. . . I get the strong sense from a few anecdotal stories about Roberts over the past few months and the way he has written this opinion that he very, very much was concerned about keeping the Supreme Court above the partisan fray and damaging the reputation of the Court long term. . . . Second, in writing his case, Roberts forces everyone to deal with the issue as a political, not a legal issue. . . Third, while Roberts has expanded the taxation power, which I don’t really think is a massive expansion from what it was, Roberts...

Now that obamacare is law of the land, I have a different legal issue with it. The law has "wellness plans" that allows insurance companies to charge more for certain risky behaviors like smoking or being obese. I would think that under equal protection, if they're going to "tax" risky behavior at all, then they need to charge more for ALL risky behavior. For example, if you participate in sports, especially contact sports, you are more likely to incur injury, some of which is life long and debilitating, such as with Christopher Reeve or Charles Krauthamer. Many concussive and spinal...

Dear RedState Reader, As you have no doubt heard by now, the Supreme Court largely upheld Obamacare with Chief Justice John Roberts writing the majority 5 to 4 decision. Even Justice Kennedy called for the whole law to be thrown out, but John Roberts saved it. Having gone through the opinion, I am not going to beat up on John Roberts. I am disappointed, but I want to make a few points. John Roberts is playing at a different game than the rest of us. We’re on poker. He’s on chess. First, I get the strong sense from a few...
  • James Q. Wilson (2008): Do Blacks Treat Jews in the Same Manner in Which Jews Treat Evangelicals?

The late conservative sociologist and evangelical Christian, James Q. Wilson, made an interesting observation on the manner in which Blacks, Jews, and Evangelicals relate to one another. Here is his fascinating 2008 article: http://www.city-journal.org/2008/18_1_evangelicals.html Here is a summary of his article. White Evangelical Christians are the strongest supporters of Israel in America, and their support for Israel comes from their religious beliefs that Israel is a fulfillment of scripture. But most American Jews have never been great fans of evangelicals, despite great efforts on the part of evangelicals to reach out to Jews. Jews are the one white ethnic group,...
