Will the 'rap-style poem' in a radio advert tempt young people to go to church (posed by model) In the beginning, the elders gathered and set up a mighty cry: How are we to get young people into church? And, lo, they decreed: Let there be rap. In a move which risks ridicule, the Church of England has turned to street culture in the hope of attracting new blood. A radio advert will...

Lately I have been looking at the moon and wondering if it will someday kill me. If I live another 50 years (which is entirely possible) I assume I will eventually be a robot, having shed my old skin and bones body and uploaded a scanned and digitized version of my brain to a machine. My fellow robots and I will live among the meat people for eons until the moon's orbit degrades, either gradually or because a meteor gives it a nudge, and Earth is annihilated in the collision. You might say I worry too much. But I've successfully...

No one can deny that the GOP, celebrating 155 years of existence this year, has been a significant factor in the American polity. The Republicans have won 22 presidential elections to the Democrats’ 16, and can lay claim to the one president that transcended partisan politics–Abraham Lincoln. No Democratic president in history comes close, not even FDR. Lincoln’s leadership in the civil war and his abolition of slavery are often portrayed as American achievements as opposed to Republican successes. The GOP has also had at least three dominant periods in which they fashioned social, economic, and international policy: 1893 to...

I got away from the war room and this computer for a while today, figured it was time to slack off on the "progressives" for a while. I've been picking on the local bunch without mercy, LOL. They are all so mad they are taking to strong drink!I found the Snowy Egret and the Roseate Spoonbill at the little pond I hang out at, the Great Egret was at Maria Sanchez Lake, downtown. It was heading out to look for lizards and bugs in the shrubs along the street. This shot is with my antique Olympus C2100UZ, the others with...

Conservatives can’t deny the courage, conviction and effectiveness of Glenn Beck’s crusade against the Progressive movement and corruption in our nation’s capital. Glenn’s efforts have emboldened many to stand tall and fearless for traditional America. Beck single handedly got a wacko communist to resign his position as “Green Job Czar” a position that existed solely to perpetuate the greatest scam in world History. The recent acorn unraveling is due, in no small part, to the inspiration and cover Glenn has provided the heroic; Andrew Breitbart, James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles (hubba… hubba). However, as events unfold at a rapid pace,...

Shout Brings Vote on SanctionRacial Issue Simmers as Black Democrats Lead Push Against Wilson By Paul Kane Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, September 15, 2009 House Democrats plan to formally reprimand Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) on Tuesday for his outburst last week in which he accused President Obama of lying about proposed health-care legislation. Spanish Fork » Joseph Smith may have called The Book of Mormon the "most correct of any book on Earth," but that doesn't mean it couldn't use some correcting -- even now, 179 years after it first came off the press. Regarded by a worldwide faith of nearly 14 million members as Holy Writ, the book is not wholly without errors -- typos, omissions, grammatical goofs and altogether wrong words. Mistakes have crept into the text since LDS Church founder Joseph Smith dictated the original manuscript, which he says he translated with God's help from gold plates. Truth is, the...
