The former ruling party appears set to govern the nation again after winning in Congress and leading gubernatorial races in two states deemed to be strongholds of the PAN, President Calderon's party. Reporting from Mexico City -- It was an old-style landslide for the Institutional Revolutionary Party, which used to rule Mexico from top to bottom. The party's hopes for once again ruling Mexico soared Monday after official tallies confirmed a sweeping nationwide victory in midterm elections a day earlier. In addition to a win in Congress, the party, known as the PRI, held leads in five of six governorships,...

Geert Wilders’ Speech in CopenhagenGates of Vienna, 15 June 2009...The problem is that the injunctions in the Koran are not restricted to time or place. Rather, they apply to all Muslims, in any period. Another problem is that Muslims also regard the Koran as the word of Allah. Which means that the Koran is immune from criticism.Apart from the Koran, there is also the life of Muhammad, who fought in dozens of wars and was in the habit of decapitating Jews with his own sword. The problem here is that, to Muslims, Muhammad is ‘the perfect man’, whose life is...

2:07 p.m. EDT MR. KELLY: Okay. I have nothing for you at the top, so I’ll take your questions. (Laughter.) My top has already been done, I think. Charley. QUESTION: Honduras. MR. KELLY: Yeah. QUESTION: Is there any time limit for the mediation effort? And can you just clarify us where the reinstatement of President Zelaya fits into U.S. policy today? Yesterday, it seemed to be an integral part -- MR. KELLY: Yeah. QUESTION: Today, it seems to have retreated slightly. MR. KELLY: Well, no, I don’t think so. I don’t think I agree with that characterization. QUESTION: Please explain....

The chairman of the board that convinced President Obama to fire its inspector general last month complained that Gerald Walpin was creating too much friction with agency administrators, according to notes from a May meeting obtained by FOXNews.com. The account adds a vital new layer to the explanation the White House gave for the firing, which made only passing reference to such concerns in justifying the removal of Walpin, former IG for the Corporation for National and Community Service, which oversees the volunteer service AmeriCorps. The official explanation emphasized Walpin's personal behavior at the May 20 meeting. The informal meeting...

In short, if Palin is a “nutty puppy,” these Washington and New York insiders are a deranged pack of rabid dogs. Why, though, the venom? Let us count the ways in which Palin enrages: False Consciousness 1) The sophisticated elite “sees” the real world behind the middle-American façade-how the mob is led, fooled, mesmerized-exploited and manipulated through addiction to idiotic things like Wal-Mart, wall-to-wall carpeting, tract houses, Yukons, etc. Can’t smart people see that Palin’s naugahyde family is a reification of all this middle-class, mindless consumerism, without style, erudition, nuance and skepticism? How infuriating to sit here in New York...

If you're anything like me, you were pulling your hair out as all the major news channels dedicated hours of their air time to the Michael Jackson memorial ceremony. Perhaps most disturbing about the overblown display of public affection was the revisionist history which has already set it. To hear Al Sharpton credit MJ with the presidency of Barack Obama and for "breaking down the color curtain," was not only ridiculous, it was infuriating. There have been countless people - black and white - who fought, actually fought, for racial equality in this country. Michael Jackson sang songs. Sharpton also...

Years ago, during the Bosnian War, I heard someone say something that I'll never forget. U.S. troops were taking part in the U.N. effort to prevent more genocide, and desperate Bosnian people were scrounging through the huge garbage piles accumulated by the American forces looking for valuables they could see or food they could feed their families. A reporter interviewed a man on the trash piles, who said, "We are living like animals. Is this all there is to our lives? Is there nothing more?" It dawned on me that an incredibly poor, desperate Bosnian, or a hugely successful rock...

A teary Brooke Shields approached the podium at Michael Jackson’s public memorial in Los Angeles today and spoke about the unique friendship the two shared as 1980s megastars thrust into the spotlight at a young age. In the special Michael Jackson commemorative issue of Rolling Stone hitting stands this week, the model-actress reveals the King of Pop asked her to marry him — more than once. “I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and...

Soaring U.S. unemployment and a shrinking economy drove delinquencies on credit card debt and home equity loans to all-time highs in the first quarter as a record number of cash-strapped consumers fell behind on their bills. Delinquencies on the value of all card debt soared to a record 6.60 percent from 5.52 percent in the fourth quarter as more cardholders relied on plastic to meet day-to-day expenses, the American Bankers Association said. Late payments on home equity loans rose to 3.52 percent from 3.03 percent, and on home equity lines of credit climbed to 1.89 percent from 1.46 percent. A...

Dear President Obama: You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America, and culturally you are not an American. You scare me because you have never run a company or...

One of the Senate leaders on defense issues on Tuesday played down the Obama administration’s threat to veto a major Pentagon bill over additional Lockheed Martin F-22 fighter jets and a second engine for the Joint Strike Fighter. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said that he did not foresee a veto over the authorized funds for seven more F-22s and for a second Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) engine produced by General Electric and Rolls Royce. The Pentagon did not request any funds for either program for its 2010 budget. “I do not foresee...

Lets see……her clothes were too expensive; her boy was running away from something when he went to Iraq to serve as a soldier; her handicapped baby was attacked along with her parenting skills; her marriage slaughtered; her faith and church attacked as extremist; her pregnant and unwedded daughter smeared in “worldly hypocrisy blood;” and of course she was evil and nasty to animals since she was a hunter. These were just the hors d’oevres offered by the left. Then we saw at least 15 ethics legal assaults flung at her costing Alaska 2 million and her and Todd 500,000 to...

Plans for the world's largest wind farm in the Texas Panhandle have been scrapped, energy baron T. Boone Pickens said Tuesday, and he's looking for a home for 687 giant wind turbines. Pickens has already ordered the turbines, which can stand 400 feet tall—taller than most 30-story buildings. AP Boone Pickens -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "When I start receiving those turbines, I've got to ... like I said, my garage won't hold them," the legendary Texas oilman said. "They've got to go someplace." Pickens' company Mesa Power ordered the turbines from General Electric [GE 11.01 -0.47 (-4.09%)] (parent company of CNBC)—a $2 billion...

ASTRONOMERS are claiming that Earth is witnessing the biggest and most powerful Sunspot ever seen and the sunspot is yet to peak in intensity.
