American Teen Zac Sunderland is almost home, having been at sea for the past 13 months, circling the globe, alone in his 36 foot sailboat. He will become the youngest to have ever done a circumnavigation alone, leaving as a 16 year old, and now only 17. His story is amazing, look for his website at wwww.zacsunderland.com and find time to go back through his blog. Great testament to what America's youth are still capable of. We need more like him!

Zac’s Return Info
Hello All,
There have been a lot of questions regarding Zac’s return lately. This post is meant to get everyone up to date. Zac is scheduled to return to Fisherman’s Village, Marina del Rey on Tuesday July 14th at 10:00am.

I really admire him, but his parents must have been nervous wrecks!
A real Man.
But, shouldn’t he be in SCHOOL?!?! I mean, how could he LEARN anything by just SAILING for a year?!?!
/sarc (just trying to imagine the typical lib response)
Seriously, though, what an inspiring kid - if this country’s got a few more like him, we just might be alright...
He’s going to become a mohel?
Youngest? I thought Jewish kids had that done right after birth.
Wow ! I didn’t know about him until now . The media ought to be giving him some attention . A real role model for kids and not MJ .
What a great adventure!
This young man’s spirit reminds us of what most of America was like before the Nanny State pussyfication set in.
With his record setting circumnavigation in the late 1960’s Robin Lee Graham inspired a generation of young sailors.
Perhaps Zac can help inspire another generation to drop their computer games and venture outdoors.
Quite an accomplishment. I saw that another 17 year old American had recently finished climbing the highest peaks on each continent. Pretty amazing “kids.”
Aren’t most boys circumnavigated when they’re only a day or two old?
Bump
Thank you for the links
Thanks for putting the links in..
Yep, I remember that vividly. Graham had a few really close calls, IIRC.
He’s a hero but I hear his parents are now crying poverty because their business is hurting and the cost of the voyage has out them $ 140,000 in the hole . Apparently they are , indirectly , attempting to get $ from fans & supporters .
Oy !
Zac has stated that his inspiration first came from reading about Robin. Robin’s trip took 5 years, and he did not have the technological advantages that Zac has had. But still a major undertaking not many could pull off.
