News flash: Your ability to climb stairs may be the ultimate health test. This everyday activity demands leg strength, cardiovascular fitness, balance, and coordination, especially when climbing flight after flight without stopping. It’s simple, accessible, and brutally honest about where your fitness stands. Health professionals and performance coaches often use stair climbing to gauge heart health and endurance. In fact, a 2023 study published in Atherosclerosis found that climbing more than five flights of stairs (approx 50 steps) daily was associated with a lower risk of ASCVD types independent of disease susceptibility..

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the United Nations a “joke” in his address to the opening of the General Assembly in New York on Friday, as he noted its obsession with attacking Israel, inverting good and evil. Netanyahu spoke after a countless heads of state had demonized Israel for “genocide” in Gaza, and with his country facing a war on seven fronts against Iran and its terrorist proxies. “In this swamp of antisemitic bile, there’s an automatic majority willing to demonize Israel on anything,” he noted, calling it an “anti-Israel flat-earth society.”

It’s hard to imagine a life without sugar. But how much sugar is too much? The American Heart Association recommends that women eat no more than six teaspoons of sugar a day; for men, no more than nine. This means no more than 25-36 grams or about 100-150 calories a day of sugar. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends eating a maximum of 50 grams, but preferably no more than 25 grams of sugar per day. Does that sound like a lot or a little? Well, when you consider that a 12 oz can of regular Coke has 39 grams...

This is a video of a family of reindeer herders setting up their lodging for a short stay before they have to head out again. They are on the move every four days or so, and by now they got this down to a science, and everyone works together. These families are so far off the grid they live in Siberia. I'm offer 17 screen shots from the video for those who would rather not spend the 32 minutes watching the whole video, however, your missing a treat if you don't. I often read about preppers who are doing their...

"Your invited to the reception." This was the wording on an invitation someone showed me. Unfortunately, we too often see "your" used where the contraction "you're" is required, as it was on the invitation. Handbooks say "your" and "you're" are commonly confused, as are the contractions "they're" for "their" and "it's" for "its." The Gregg Reference Manual says as a test for the correct form, try to substitute "you are," "they are" or "it is" or "it has," respectively. "If the substitution does not make sense, use the corresponding possessive form," Gregg says.

It may be baseball's biggest technology controversy since lights were installed at Wrigley Field. Like Chicago's beloved baseball park, the umpire's home behind the plate is a somewhat sacred spot. So adding technology that claims to improve the game does not sit well with everyone, especially those who control the play on the field. Major League Baseball umpires are fighting the QuesTec Umpire Information System, a series of cameras that track each pitch and compare the machine's ruling with the ump's call. The technology, which first was tested by the major leagues in 2001, is currently used in 10 ballparks....
