Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, turnpike personnel and first responders from several agencies remain on the scene hours after a multi-vehicle crash on the Ohio Turnpike left four dead and many injured Friday afternoon. As of 9:10 p.m., 15 commercial vehicles are being cleared from the roadway. The crash happened eastbound between State Route 53 and State Route 4 in Sandusky County and eventually stretched into Erie County. Forty-six vehicles were involved in the crash, according to OSHP Sgt. Ryan Purpura. At least three of the four victims were in different vehicles, and none of their identities have been released....

Recently, Molly Taft at Gizmodo proclaimed, "California's Epic Snowstorms Are Great News." Great news, indeed, with snowfall running some 150% above normal for the Sierra Nevadas, or "200% of average for snow water equivalent." For years, climate alarmists bemoaned the multiyear drought that, they insisted, would utterly "destroy" California. The drought, they wrote, was the product of global warming and was thus more or less permanent. Say goodbye to California agriculture; life in California cities; and, eventually, life on Earth. Those claims were false, as this year's massive Sierra snow-pack shows. When the snow melts in the spring, that water...

Weymouth High School parents began raising money this year for their kid’s sports teams by selling “white out” shirts that kids can wear to athletic events to encourage school unity. Anyone remotely familiar with sportball understands what a “white out” is. It’s not just white either, they do it for lots of colors. Usually it’s the school colors, although Weymouth’s colors of maroon and gold could be offensive to Elizabeth Warren. More often than not it’s just black or white because it’s a color that stands out. That’s when this woman stepped in. This is Weymouth Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Curtis-Whipple....

-- Rescuers hoping to find two hikers missing on the frigid slopes of Oregon's Mount Hood faced worsening weather conditions Monday night as forecasters predicted white-out conditions that could severely hinder search efforts. == Up to 2 feet of snow is expected to fall Monday night into Tuesday at the elevation where rescuers are searching for any signs of Anthony Vietti, 24, and Katie Nolan, 29, who have been missing since early Friday. A third hiker who was with them, 26-year-old Luke Gullberg, was found dead Saturday.

Chris and the Ladies from St Henry High SchoolImagine this scenario:1. It is the last night of your two week leave back in the real world (USA). 2. Your 2 week leave follows 7 months in one of the worst parts of Iraq. 3. Tomorrow, you fly from Indianapolis to Atlanta. There you will board a military charter back to four more months in Iraq. 4. While in your hotel room, waiting on tomorrow to come, your phone rings. Your buddy in Florida is calling to tell you that all units, currently in Iraq, are being extended another three months. ...

The images linger: snowbound interstates clogged with abandoned vehicles -- 3,500 on an eight-mile stretch of Route 128 alone; parked cars that became towering snowdrifts along Boston streets best navigated on skis; people tugging grocery-laden sleds on unplowed major thoroughfares; Governor Michael S. Dukakis on television, clad in a reassuring pullover sweater.
