The two Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troopers shot Saturday in Juniata County were identified during a Sunday afternoon press conference in Harrisburg. Tpr. Jacques F. A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper is being credited for saving lives by putting his own life on the line to stop a suspected drunk driver from entering an interstate going the wrong way. North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Trooper Cody Thao used his own patrol car as a barrier to stop the driver who was speeding up an exit ramp the wrong way. An Illinois State Trooper who was shot Friday afternoon on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago has died, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Local media reported Saturday that three individuals were taken into custody in connection with the shooting death the day after Lt. Troy Morris, 58, who worked part-time for the U.S. Postal Service, was found. According to WLBT-TV, the three suspects were apprehended in Louisiana. Trooper Nicholas Hopkins was shot and killed while serving a search warrant at a home at 1426 North 42nd Street and Caseyville Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois. He and other members of the Emergency Response Team were making entry into the home at 5:30 am when he was shot by an occupant during an exchange of gunfire. The suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a rookie Kentucky state trooper this weekend has died after being shot by authorities, state police said on Monday. Kentucky State Police found the suspect, Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, 25, of Missouri, in a wooded area close to Interstate 24, near where he allegedly shot the trooper after a car chase, police said. Johnson-Shanks had aimed his gun at troopers and refused to drop it, leading one to shoot him, officials said. Johnson-Shanks died at a medical center in Princeton, Kentucky.

READING, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police say a trooper fatally shot a man while serving an arrest warrant at a Reading row home. Police say the man resisted arrest before the trooper opened fire about 4 a.m. Friday. A neighbor tells the Reading Eagle he saw police in SWAT gear and heard shouting, a loud explosion and five or six gunshots. Canadensis, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Police in Pennsylvania appeared to be closing in Friday night on the suspect in the slaying of a state trooper. Police have surrounded a home where they believe Eric Matthew Frein is believed to be hiding, a local government official told CNN.
