Since it's Friday, I thought it might be fun to post the following question. As you know, we don't have a true leader in Washington right now. Just some little boy who likes to vote "Present" a lot. Therefore, which of the following fictional/historical figures would you like to replace Pres--ent What's-his-name with: William Wallace ("Braveheart") King Leonidas ("300") Queen Gorgo ("300") Marv ("Sin City") The Uber-cool DOS Equis Dude ('Stay thirsty, my friends.') Lieutenant Rasczak ("Starship Troopers") Fill in the blank:_________________ Have a good day. :)

NASHUA, N.H.—New Hampshire Republicans would have rather seen John McCain take the oath of office on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean they won't give President Obama a chance. Republican adviser Tom Rath said now is not the time for partisan fighting because people are hurting. He said leaders must find common ground and if Republicans disagree with Obama's policies, they can do so without getting nasty. Former New Hampshire GOP Chairman Fergus Cullen said Obama is his president, too, and certainly doesn't want him to fail.

The old cliche "politics make strange bedfellows" could not be truer as Obama honored his political rival, Senator John McCain, at an honorary dinner the night before the inauguration. During the 2008 campaign, there were heated exchanges between the two over domestic and foreign policy that were sometimes personal in nature. On Monday night, January 19, 2009, Obama referred to the former Vietnam prisoner as a war hero who understood better than most really matters in politics. Obama called for a new spirit of cooperation in Washington. Obama began the speech saying, "I am here tonight to say a few...

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer." - Barack Obama, Victory Speech, November 4, 2008 Yesterday was Martin Luther King's birthday, which is America's only national holiday to honor an American citizen. The day before, which was Sunday, the incoming Obama administration staged an Inauguration Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial around the theme "We Are One," which was also the theme of...

NATIONAL DAY OF RENEWAL AND RECONCILIATION, 2009 - - - - - - - BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION As I take the sacred oath of the highest office in the land, I am humbled by the responsibility placed upon my shoulders, renewed by the courage and decency of the American people, and fortified by my faith in an awesome God. We are in the midst of a season of trial. Our Nation is being tested, and our people know great uncertainty. Yet the story of America is one of renewal in the...

Barack Obama's inauguration promises to be one of the most important civic events in American history. Millions will make their way to the National Mall. More than 10,000 buses will be chartered. At a website called Inauguration or Bust, people anywhere in the country can find locals to travel with. At the site, the contingent from Savannah, Georgia, refers to its trip as a "pilgrimage". That word, most often associated with religious fervor, is appropriate here. The inauguration buzz is reminiscent of the excitement I have encountered in Muslim countries in the days preceding the hajj. The theological comparison isn't...

Commander in Chief, a PC game that puts players in President Obama’s shoes, launches tomorrow, Inauguration Day. Just like the President, players immediately face the same problems and challenges as in the real world – the economy, controlling the military, national security and terrorism, natural disasters, alternative energy sources, and many others – all with the persistent threat of a terrorist attack on a major U.S. city. A game trailer can be seen at www.commander-in-chief.net. The game can be played alone, or, with an Internet connection up to 16 friends. Commander in Chief is played on a detailed 3D world...

Faced with 24/7 Obamamania on the media, the 60 million Americans who did not vote for Barack Obama are wondering where we go from here. Will events turn out like 1993, when another liberal president was inaugurated with the support of big majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate? Under the direction of the activist first lady, the liberals attempted a government takeover of the massive health care industry, in addition to passing new regulations and tax hikes. Bill Clinton rewarded the feminists by passing Joe Biden's nearly-billion-dollar-a-year Violence Against Women Act. But then came the midterm...

In his Saturday remarks during his campaign train ride, President-elect Barack Obama issued some soaring rhetoric about the state of the country today. At least the Old Media thought it was soaring rhetoric, anyway. Typically, the media was overawed by his mellifluous tones, of course. But during these remarks in Baltimore Obama made a startling suggestion. He said we need a "new Declaration of Independence." Apparently the original one isn't good enough for the new president, but it also seems a silly rhetorical flourish. After all, what is it that we are declaring independence from this time? Recall that the...

The guys hawking Barack Obama T-shirts and trinkets on the corners of downtown Washington have some new competition in the selling frenzy building up to the president-elect's inauguration Tuesday — Corporate America. Companies ranging from global giants like soda and snacks maker PepsiCo to a local grocery chain offering cakes with Obama's face in icing are jumping on the Obama commercial wave. Others, like the Swedish home store Ikea, are hoping consumers take Obama's mantra of "change" to heart so much that they go out and buy furniture to mark the change in the White House. It is relatively rare...

The House of Representatives has passed an expanded version of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and made it easier for illegal aliens to access the program's benefits. HR 2, the new version of SCHIP, weakens verification requirements. Those who enroll will be required to show only an easily forged Social Security card -- not secure documents proving U.S. citizenship. The legislation also extends benefits to non-citizen children of legal immigrants. The SCHIP bill is designed to provide health coverage to low-income children, a laudable

Using this WND article as a springboard, Michael Medved is condemning those who make conservatives look foolish. Not only those who pray for Obama's failure, but those who call him evil, or cling to the birth certificate issue. Medved still hopes Obama will be a one term president. Click to listen.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama honored his vanquished Republican rival John McCain on Monday, describing the Arizona senator as an "American hero" while the Democrat prepared to assume the office that both men fought bitterly to attain. Obama and McCain clashed repeatedly on the campaign trail over foreign and domestic policy in sometimes heated exchanges that occasionally veered into the personal. But Obama made clear that period had passed even as he predicted the two would not always get along in the future. "John is not known to bite his tongue and if I'm screwing up, he's going to...

So many pundits have taken today (Martin Luther King Day) and its relation to tomorrow's inauguration of Barack Obama to make the point, as simplistic as it is inaccurate, that Obama's election is the fulfillment of Dr. King's "dream." A more destructive lesson would be difficult to fathom. Doctor King spoke of racial equality. He spoke of Blacks and Whites and all other races uniting as Americans, not as racial groups. And this will be the day — this will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning: My country ’tis of...

According to the following thread, the DUmmies are visibly upset that the RW'ers on the SCOTUS will be allowed to overturn an election. These are the same people who scream President Bush trashed the Constitution in the WOT and that Obamalamadingdong, a "Constitutional Scholar" will right the ship. However, they themselves are more than willing to trash the same Constitution they say must be upheld with regards to the "Natural Born" issue. To them, the election is more important. Does anyone know of any drugs I could take that would allow me to think in such a convoluted way so...

The video is absolutely priceless - "I Invented The Internet, Episode 1: The Audacity." Lorne Baxter explores the life of Barack Hussein Obama, Jeremiah Wright and the theology behind it. Produced by Illuminati Pictures (www.nohussein.com). Music by Intelligentzia. The video gets into the meat of who Obama is in about two minutes. The whole video is thirteen minutes.
