New York Attorney General Letitia James just became the face of the Cornell rape case. This is not going to end well. Gov. Kathy Hochul appointed James as special prosecutor in the Cornell University sexual assault investigation, effectively removing the case from Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten. “New reporting raises serious questions about the information his office relied upon when it made that decision,” Hochul said in announcing the move. James will now oversee the investigation and can present evidence to a grand jury and prosecute offenses if warranted. Whether or not we get justice in this disturbing...

The Cornell University Gang Rape Story is picking up steam just in time for the midterms and has all the markings of yet another hoax manufactured to divide the public between those who care more about political and cultural victories and those who care about the facts. It looks like the Duke-LaCrosse Rape Hoax of 2006 all over again. It looks like Rolling Stone’s University of Virginia Rape Hoax of 2014 all over again. In both cases, the failures were based on systemic bias and malice, much of it coming from the corporate media, all of it coming from the...

New York Attorney General Letitia James has been appointed as special prosecutor in the Cornell University sexual assault investigation, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday, following increasing scrutiny and uproar over how university police and the local district attorney’s office handled the matter two years ago. Hochul said in a statement that “newly released information continues to raise serious questions about the investigation,” which has in turn “undercut my faith, and the public’s faith.” She said James, who has been attorney general since 2019, will take over the case of a former Cornell University student who alleged in a lawsuit last...

The “Cornell 7” gang rape case is descending into the same lynch-mob hysteria as the notorious Duke lacrosse or “mattress girl” hoaxes of old — only with social media making everything worse. It seems we have learned nothing from past injustices... A young woman who goes by “Jane Doe” has filed a civil lawsuit two years after she alleged she was gang-raped by seven men in a sordid, drug-fueled sexual encounter at the Chi Phi fraternity house at the elite Cornell University, where she was a student at the time... Yet, according to Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten,...

If the Atlanta shootings aren't about race but sexual pathology, it's an indictment not of racism but prevailing sexual attitudes among our elite. There’s something off about press coverage of the shooting rampage in Atlanta earlier this week. Nearly every corporate media outlet has framed the killings as a racially-motivated “hate crime” against Asian Americans, noting that six of the eight victims are Asian and the alleged shooter is white. Yet race doesn’t appear to be a significant motivating factor here, at least not according to the accused gunman, 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, who was arrested Tuesday evening after targeting three...

The pornographication of America's culture prevents victims from thinking clearly. Sadly, behavior once labeled bizarre or self-destructive is now common. Police say Michael Cooper of Germantown, Maryland, approached women on social media and dating apps under the pseudonym “Rebecca Lattimore.” Through online conversations, Cooper would “slowly coax them to send nude photos and videos,” according to a recent article in the Washington Post. Following this, he’d disclose the truth, that he was “actually a dude,” and demand the women have sex with him or he would send their compromising media to pornography sites, family members of the women, friends, and...

Playboy founder Hugh M. Hefner, the pipe-smoking hedonist who revved up the sexual revolution in the 1950s and built a multimedia empire of clubs, mansions, movies and television, symbolized by bow-tied women in bunny costumes, has died at age 91. Hefner died of natural causes at his home surrounded by family tonight, Playboy said in a statement.

A former Brashear High School math teacher must register as a sex offender after he pleaded guilty to one count of child pornography. Adam Deutsch, of Allison Park, was sentenced to three years' probation and 15 years on the sex offender registry during a non-jury trial. As part of a plea agreement, Deutsch pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography as well as several drug charges. The district attorney's office and a judge determined that probation and registering as a sex offender were a suitable punishment. Investigators said they found about 50 images and 30 videos depicting child pornography on his...

WASHINGTON - Porn is like heroin, researchers told Congress yesterday, asking for money to study "porn addiction" and launch a public health campaign about its dangers. The Internet is the top source for porn that corrupts kids and hooks adults into addictions that threaten their jobs and families, anti-porn advocates said. They called for billboards and bus ads warning people to avoid pornography, strip clubs and prostitutes. The Associated Press Originally published on November 19, 2004

There's been an outpouring of support for North Beach merchant Lori Haigh, whose gallery was vandalized over a controversial war-related painting. But Haigh is uncomfortable with the latest show of solidarity -- a proposal by San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin to display the polemic art at City Hall. "I think it's just asking for trouble," said Haigh, 39, who has returned the piece to its creator, Berkeley artist Guy Colwell. Titled "Abuse," the 30-by-30-inch acrylic on canvas painting depicts three hooded, naked prisoners connected to electrical wires held by American soldiers, and in the background another soldier escorting a robed...

Billboards target porn addicts BY BOBBY ROSS JR. Associated Press Writer DALLAS - Forget buying that special someone a diamond necklace or a heart-shaped box of chocolates this Valentine's Day. A Dallas-based ministry thinks it has a better idea. "Her gift for Valentines? Stop looking at porn," proclaim billboard messages posted by NetAccountability, a nonprofit software company that aims to help Christians confront the "secret sin" of pornography. NetAccountability co-founders Brandon Cotter and Scott Covington say their target audience isn't those who see nothing wrong with perusing X-rated Web sites. Rather, it's Christians caught up in a behavior their faith...
