Absolutely the slowest election so far I have worked.. worked every election for last 10 years. My borough is consistently among the highest in turnout in our county in terms of percentage of eligible voters who vote. Not overly surprising there really isn’t anything major contested on either parties ballot to draw voters.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Two multi-decade Republican lawmakers in York County will not be up for re-election in the fall, after losing their primary races to challengers. In Windsor Township, Wendy Fink beat State Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York), who has been in office nearly 30 years. In Hellam Township, Joe D’Orsie beat State Rep. Keith Gillespie (R-York), who has been in office nearly 20 years. “Something happens after a couple of decades after you're in political office. After talking to people, I think the fact that I am a rookie kind of appeals to them,” D’Orsie said while making campaign...

The Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary has yet to be decided, and the final result may come down to tens of thousands of outstanding mail-in ballots that won’t be counted until Wednesday. Currently, businessman Dave McCormick leads Trump-endorsed TV doctor Mehmet Oz by about 1,700 votes, well within the margin for a mandatory recount. Upstart candidate Kathy Barnette, who appeared to be gaining ground on her competitors early in the night, is currently at 24.7% Just before midnight local time, McCormick told supporters, “We had a pretty good day today. I want to thank you all so much for your support...

Doug Mastriano, the ultra-conservative state senator from central Pennsylvania, won the Republican primary for Pennsylvania governor, NBC News projects, setting up a race against Democrat Josh Shapiro in the November general election. With the victory, Mastriano completed a meteoric rise through the state Republican Party ranks, despite efforts from many of the party’s establishment trying to keep him from winning the nomination.

Here in Pennsylvania I see all mail-in votes in the official Department of State count for US Senate and surprise surprise David McCormick getting a big chunk of those Dr. Oz in second place and Kathy Barnette third. They are all mail-in votes there in the GOP US Senate primary. John Fetterman with 52 percent of those mail-in votes on the Democrat side of the US Senate primary. These mail-in votes for Governor on Republican side give Bill McSwain former federal prosecutor unendorsed by President Trump 29 percent of the vote...

Columbia University has basically erased information that connects it to its distinguished alumnus Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is running as a Republican for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Oz has been a controversial figure over the years, first for a series of medical advice billed as pseudoscience, then more recently because he was endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Oz faces a tough challenge in the Pennsylvania primary election, which will be held Tuesday. The Columbia University Medical Center removed his page from its official website in mid-January, the Daily Beast reported at the time. The move occurred after...

GOP U.S. Senate candidate Kathy Barnette in an interview on Monday morning refused to support the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania if she does not win the nomination on Tuesday. Asked during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel on Monday by Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlow if she will support whoever wins the nomination, she said she will not. “If you do not win tomorrow, do you intend to support the Republican nominee whoever it is?” Marlow asked. In reply, she said she will not support the Republican nominee against the likely...

The freedom of speech is under attack everywhere, and it’s not clear which side Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Trump-endorsed candidate for a Senate seat from Pennsylvania, is on. We have the Disinformation Governance Board, the Jan. 6 Committee, ongoing claims that Trump supporters are all “white supremacists” (and “white supremacists” are the nation’s biggest terror threat), and rampaging social media censorship. In that environment, it’s crucial for all candidates, especially America-First candidates, to affirm their support for free speech. Instead, Oz has just called for his primary opponent to be barred from the race, not for any criminal activity or,...

The 52-year-old Fetterman, who confirmed that he has been hospitalized all weekend, insisted the health emergency wasn’t slowing his campaign. But the stunning revelation, just two days before Pennsylvania’s primary election, created a cloud of uncertainty over the Democratic front-runner’s candidacy in what may be one of the party’s best Senate pickup opportunities. In a short video released by his campaign, a seated Fetterman, speaking clearly, explained that “I just wasn’t feeling very well” on Friday and that he decided to go to the hospital at the urging of his wife. He detailed the situation further in a written statement....

MEYERSDALE, Pennsylvania — Unless either Dr. Mehmet Oz or David McCormick pulls out a miracle between today and Tuesday evening, just over 20% of the Republican primary electorate is going to nominate Kathy Barnette for U.S. Senate. This would mark the first time in modern Pennsylvania Republican primary history that such a complete unknown wins with no statewide infrastructure to support her candidacy, zero money, and little scrutiny. If she succeeds, she will have upended a race between two capable candidates who, up until a week ago, seemed to be locked in a two-man contest. This would also mark the...

WGAL News 8 has learned that Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman is currently at Lancaster General Hospital being treated. This comes on the heals of several public events that were cancelled over the weekend. Statement From Lt. Governor John Fetterman Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman released the following statement from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital: “On Friday, I wasn’t feeling well, so I went to the hospital to get checked out. I didn’t want to go – I didn’t think I had to – but Gisele insisted, and as usual, she was right. I hadn't been feeling well, but was so...

A super PAC supporting Mehmet Oz, the celebrity surgeon and prominent candidate in Pennsylvania's Republican Senate primary, has released an attack ad that wildly distorts the past remarks and positions of Kathy Barnette, a party rival who is surging in late-campaign polls. The super PAC, American Leadership Action, tries to depict the right-wing Barnette, who ran unsuccessfully for the US House of Representatives in 2020, as a "crazy" advocate of liberal positions. To do so, though, the super PAC misleadingly truncated Barnette's past comments about race and policing and added inaccurate introductions to these shortened clips. The primary takes place...

In February 2022, I attended the Republican State Committee Meeting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Our job, as state committee members, was to interview, vet, select, and support endorsed candidates through the primary and election cycles. This election cycle, for the first time in decades, the top three positions for governor, lieutenant governor, and Senate in Pennsylvania are "open seats." An open seat is when no incumbent is running, due to term limits or resignations. Open seats always draw more candidates. But this cycle, we Republican state committee members were called upon to complete the endorsement process for approximately 30 candidates, running...

PHILADELPHIA — Kathy Barnette has been outspent 358-to-1 on TV in Pennsylvania’s GOP primary for the Senate. She hasn’t run for statewide office before. She doesn’t have former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. But the ultra-MAGA commentator is surging in the polls anyway in the final weeks of one of the most expensive and closely watched races in the country. Barnette’s unlikely — and, to some, unbelievable — rise has turned heads in political circles across the state because it defies political logic. Just two years ago, she lost a House bid in the Philadelphia suburbs by a wide margin. This...
