A super PAC supporting Mehmet Oz, the celebrity surgeon and prominent candidate in Pennsylvania's Republican Senate primary, has released an attack ad that wildly distorts the past remarks and positions of Kathy Barnette, a party rival who is surging in late-campaign polls.
The super PAC, American Leadership Action, tries to depict the right-wing Barnette, who ran unsuccessfully for the US House of Representatives in 2020, as a "crazy" advocate of liberal positions. To do so, though, the super PAC misleadingly truncated Barnette's past comments about race and policing and added inaccurate introductions to these shortened clips. The primary takes place on Tuesday. The super PAC did not respond to a request for comment on Friday.

cnn would never correct the record for any reason other than to help their team.

When I saw some of the things Kathy said years ago, I thought yikes, that would bring her down in the general election. But the more I see the establishment going crazy attacking her, I think she must be over the target. They did the exact same thing with Trump. I’m not from PA so can’t know the political mood there, but boy would it be great if she were to win. She’s got more cajonas than any of the worthless RINO’s, and that is just what we need. I wonder if she would pick up some support from black voters, according to polls there’s quite a few of them that are starting to get sick of the ‘rats themselves.
correct. but the likely cnn reason for whatever they said needs to be spelled out as something other than outrageous dishonesty. no one cares about that.
Oz is a fraud, so lying about a superior person is what he must do.

If CNN wants her to win the primary, maybe it’s because they think she’ll lose in the general.
If you remember, that’s exactly how we got Trump as president. Media salivated over Hillary and Trump. Be careful what you wish for.
Uh huh - if CNN is defending her, it ain’t “to correct the record”. We get stories about how it’s racist to not back her and now CNN weighs in - I remember when we were racist for not backing Rubio...
Dunno? Maybe the new bosses at cnn are really trying to get ahead of the libs at FNC by pointing out that Kathy is the real deal.
Wouldn't it be a kick in the nutz to Hannity if cnn was correct and defending her got her elected as Senator of PA.
This could be the event that took cnn from the bottom of the ratings barrel to the top.

If CBS is “fact checking” Oz, it’s Oz they are scared of.
Barnette can’t win a general. According to Baris she does not do well in all the key suburban areas needed to win.
It’s fine to be pure and vote for her, and I support her over Oz, but it’s another thing to think she’ll win. This hands the race to McCormack.
