Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday urged allies to impose more sanctions on Moscow should Russia not agree to an unconditional ceasefire at ongoing talks in Istanbul, Turkey. "Our number one priority is a full, unconditional, and honest ceasefire. This must happen immediately to stop the killing and create a solid basis for diplomacy," said Zelensky, addressing fellow leaders at the European Political Community summit in Tirana. If the Russian representatives in Istanbul are not to agree to a ceasefire then "the world must respond," he said. "There needs to be a strong reaction, including sanctions Russia's energy sector and...

Import prices ticked up slightly in April, driven by higher costs for nonfuel goods even as fuel prices continued to slide, according to data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Import Price Index rose 0.1 percent in April, following a 0.4 percent decline in March. Over the past year, import prices were up just 0.1 percent. But excluding fuel, prices for imported goods rose 0.4 percent in April and were up 1.2 percent from a year earlier, suggesting continued resilience in U.S. demand for foreign goods despite the implementation of new tariffs in early April. The Trump...

Taking up space in my kitchen is a G.E. dishwasher. We rarely use it because, frankly, it sucks. Too often, dishes must be rewashed after a cycle long enough that it might scrub the glaze from the ceramic, obviating the point of having an appliance dedicated to that task. My complaint isn't isolated; Americans have complained for years that appliances which once saved time and energy now produce frustration—largely because of regulations that hobble their ability to function. To their credit, the Trump administration and members of Congress are rolling back red tape and liberating appliances. The result should be...

The Jalisco State Attorney General's Office denied that Ricardo Ruíz, alias “El Tripa,” a known hitman of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), had ordered the murder, according to early investigations. Authorities stated that, so far, Ruíz Velasco's name does not formally appear in the case file and has not been mentioned in any of the testimonies gathered. Nonetheless, despite the Jalisco Prosecutor's denial, social media users continue to claim that Valeria Márquez had some type of connection to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and are calling on the authorities in charge of the case to thoroughly investigate any...

The United States Secret Service (USSS) has initiated an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey following allegations that he incited violence against President Donald Trump in a now-deleted Instagram post. The controversy arose after Comey, who was dismissed by Trump early in his first term presidency, shared an image featuring seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647.” The number “86” is colloquially associated with the act of removing or eliminating something or someone — such as when a patron is “86’d” from a bar or restaurant after being too intoxicated or rowdy. Therefore, the phrase “86 47” appears to...

Socialist mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani refused to sign onto a pair of resolutions recognizing Israel and the holocaust — as the state lawmaker vies to lead a city with the largest concentration of Jewish people outside Israel. Mamdani skipped out on one resolution earlier this week that celebrated the Jewish state on its 77th anniversary. Last year, he declined to sign onto another resolution that denounced the holocaust. Thousands of resolutions are introduced each year and are almost always non-controversial signs of respect to groups or countries. Last month, the assembly honored Fort Drum with a measure when members of...

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy ripped NJ Transit engineers for going on strike Friday — blasting their actions as a “slap in the face” to commuters and a “mess of their own making.” The Democrat lashed out after roughly 400 rail engineers walked off the job after marathon contract talks stalled ahead of a midnight deadline, setting off the first strike to hit the major transit system in more than 40 years. “It did not have to come to this,” Murphy told a news conference after the morning commuter rush got underway. “A small handful of locomotive engineers have walked...

Russians and Ukrainians sat face-to-face for under two hours Friday in Istanbul for the first direct talks in over three years aimed at ending their war, with expectations low for breakthroughs.Kyiv is seeking an "unconditional ceasefire" in Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II which has also destroyed large swathes of Ukraine and displaced millions of people.Moscow says it wanted to address the "root causes" of the conflict and revive failed 2022 negotiations in which it made sweeping territorial and political demands of Ukraine.

Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey is under federal investigation for an Instagram post that some interpret as a call to assassinate President Donald Trump. On Thursday, the deep state operative posted a cryptic Instagram photo of seashells arranged to spell out “86 47,” with a caption that read, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.” But patriots and truth-seekers on social media weren’t fooled, quickly decoding the sinister message: “86” — a known slang term for “to kill” or “get rid of” — paired with “47,” a clear reference to Trump, the 47th President of the United States. Comey...

The Boeing 747-8 being offered to U.S. President Donald Trump by Qatar once served the Qatari royal family and has been sitting unsold for years. The jet, a lavishly configured version of Boeing's largest passenger aircraft, has been lingering without a buyer since being put up for sale in 2020, according to aircraft listings and aviation analysts. Trump has publicly expressed frustration with Boeing's yearslong delay in delivering two modified 747s for presidential use. The president has argued that by accepting Qatar's offer, he can bypass delays and save U.S. taxpayers money. Critics, however, fear that the acceptance would be...

CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said Thursday on CNN’s “The Source” that former FBI Director James Comey’s social media post about President Donald Trump that featured a photo of seashells arranged to read, “86 47,” was not criminally chargeable. Kaitlan Collins said, “Listen to what the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard – just to give you a sense of what administration officials are saying – what she just said tonight.” Fox News host Jesse Watters said, “Do you believe Comey should be in jail?” Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said, “I do. Any other person with a...

Tiffany Trump's father-in-law, Massad Boulos, is a Lebanese-American business magnate who serves as the president's senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. The liberal ‘sanctuary city’ of Denver, Colorado is experiencing an outbreak of law and order, following the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants by ICE. Who knew such a thing could happen? Homicides in Denver and other Colorado cities are down by a whopping 60 percent. Are liberals still going to argue against the policy of deporting people in the country illegally? Are they still going to try to defend members of MS-13 and other gangs? It’s almost like enforcing laws works out well for law abiding citizens. Almost.

Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro announced the latest criminal indictment and sentences in Washington, D.C., in her first act as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, marking the start of her interim appointment by President Donald Trump. Rasheed Mullins, 27, and Josiah Warfield, 24, were each sentenced to over seven years in federal prison for their roles in the April 2024 shooting. Mullins received 90 months; Warfield...

The new regime in Damascus, under President Ahmad al-Sharaa, does not rule out the possibility of transferring to Israel the remains of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, Lebanon's Al-Akhbar newspaper reported Friday morning, quoting Arab diplomats. Cohen was hanged in Syria in 1965. In an article written by the paper’s editor, Ibrahim al-Amin, it was claimed that intensive security talks have recently been taking place between Israel and Syria. The author noted that Damascus has expressed a willingness to reveal the burial sites of Israeli soldiers who went missing in Syria during the First Lebanon War in 1982. .....
