After 40 House seats swung to Democrats in the 2018 midterms, the Republican Party is targeting dozens of them ahead of 2020 in a bid to win back control of the chamber. The House GOP’s campaign wing has released a list of 55 seats it will target next year, mostly by portraying Democrats as the party of socialism, CNBC reported. The targeted seats include 41 of the 43 the GOP lost to Democrats — many weeks after polls closed in November.

Politico has declared 60 Republican House seats in danger or something. This is my response. Because I don’t like being lied to, I didn’t bother reading beyond the headline; but if want to worry about what Politico says this is not a piece for you. I don’t sit by and let the “Hillary Clinton has a 95% chance of winning” garbage go unchallenged. The headline is pure psy-ops designed to convince us that voting would be useless. We didn’t fall for that garbage in 2016 and we are not going to fall for it this year either. Nevertheless, the headline...

North Texas rarely is viewed as a national battleground in the fight for control of Congress, but two of the hottest races in the country are in the region. That's because two Democratic incumbents long considered relatively safe -- U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas and U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards of Waco -- are now considered vulnerable as Republicans seek to wrest control of Congress from the Democrats. Johnson is facing Dallas Pastor Stephen Broden, and Bryan oil and gas executive retiree Bill Flores is challenging Edwards. Broden recently made national news by picking up an endorsement from former...
  • A NY earthquake?

New York may emerge as the epicenter of a political earthquake on Nov. 2. This longtime blue-state bystander could elect a Republican governor, dethrone House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and topple the Democratic majority in the US Senate. Yesterday's unveiling of the GOP "Pledge to America" recalls the "Contract with America" of 1994 -- but 2010 is shaping up to be a larger upheaval. In the Empire State, the GOP primaries tested the establishment candidates for governor and senator and found them wanting. In their place, primary voters nominated two feisty, scrappy contenders with hearts and souls not far from the...
