Politico says 60 Republican House seats “in danger” or something: Who cares?

Politico has declared 60 Republican House seats in danger or something.

This is my response.

Because I don’t like being lied to, I didn’t bother reading beyond the headline; but if want to worry about what Politico says this is not a piece for you.

I don’t sit by and let the “Hillary Clinton has a 95% chance of winning” garbage go unchallenged.

The headline is pure psy-ops designed to convince us that voting would be useless.

We didn’t fall for that garbage in 2016 and we are not going to fall for it this year either.

Nevertheless, the headline got me thinking about what Politico must believe voters want.

Politico must believe voters want the best economy in living memory overturned to suit their anger at Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, right?

That might be true for some far left liberal/socialists; but based on hard numbers there aren’t enough of them to do anything about it.

Then certainly Politico thinks voters want no borders and all the criminal illegal aliens South America and Mexico can send; but we don't.

Yes, there is a faction of the Democrat/socialist party who feels this way but certainly they are far out-numbered by sane people on our side who want a safe life.

Politico must believe all voters want to repeal the 1st Amendment, right? Sure, some do but not enough to change anything.

Maybe Politico believes the left can must up enough hatred for the Second Amendment to vote out Republicans who support gun rights.

Actual support for the Second Amendment says; no that’s a nonstarter as well.

Well Politico MUST believe there is something, some trigger that will get Democrats to the polls in greater numbers than Republicans!

Maybe it’s the tax cuts!

Yeah, the tax cuts that Politico believes EVERYBODY just hates; that should move enough voters to throw the Republicans out and start taxing the crap out of those of us who love the tax cuts Trump gave us, right?

Nah, let’s keep lookin’.

Sorry Politico people love the new economy Trump has constructed.

Survey after survey says this.

With record low unemployment among women African Americans and millennials Political, your belief is another non- starter.

So no, Politico, that won’t get it done either.

But maybe it’s the “We hate Trump, you hate Trump, we all hate Trump so let’s vote out the Republicans, so we can impeach him!" angle right Politico?

Really? No you don't really believe that do you?

Whether the left likes it or not Trump has made this election a referendum on him; and from the crowds he is drawing he is on his way to winning again.

Maybe just maybe Politico, there might not be anything to this “blue wave,” after all.

Maybe Politico there will be a Red Wave; but what would push Trump supporters to vote for the candidates he endorses?

Let’s try a 4.2% second quarter GDP now predicted to be 4.7% in the third quarter that will be announced just 11 days before the mid-term elections.

You remember the booming economy right Politico?

It has given us the highest Consumer Confident rating in 15 years; but you know that don't you?

And Politico how about we love America and God and we are very tired of Democrats spiting on our flag and booing God?

Don't think that will be a factor? Don't bet on it.

How about tens of millions of Americans who are disgusted by the slaughter of innocent babies and will flock to the polls to make sure a Republican Senate confirms pro-life judges for years to come?

Do you think that will get conservatives to the polls Politico?

I do.

Oh and Politico, how about the strong belief we have that it is God not government that is in charge of our lives; you know the belief your side mocks all the time, don’t you think that will get us to the polls but I do.

Maybe when we think about whether we are going to vote we might think about being physically attacked by antifa cheered on by Democrats; want to fool yourself into think that means nothing too, Politico?

Knock yourself out!

Oh and what about Democrats forcing sanctuary cities and states on us so they can protect the MS-13 animals Nancy Pelosi thinks are just fine?

We know these criminal illegal aliens have already murdered thousands of us; do you really believe we won’t remember that?

And Politico you might think we have forgotten the Democrats weaponized the IRS giving it instructions to destroy conservatives for “daring” to form groups to fight liberalism; but believe me we haven’t.

And don’t think will forget the Screech Monkey act Senate Democrats put on in the Kavanaugh hearings either.

Now all of America knows Democrats cannot be trusted with our lives and our future - the proof is on TV every day.

But there are other things we won’t forget as we crawl through broken glass to vote in November.

Politico you can fool yourself into believing we have forgotten Hillary Clinton’s sale of uranium to Russia; or Democrats setting up a GoFundMe for murdering illegal alien, but we haven’t.

And Politico, we haven’t forgotten the Democrats insistence that there are more than two genders and if a grown man “feels’ like a girl he can use the little girls rest room next to our granddaughters.

And if none of this works, I think conservatives will remember America’s exceptionalism and act to save our country because Politico, unlike Democrats, we love America.

This talk of Democrats taking the House is a pack of lies they are telling to try to dampen our enthusiasm to vote.

Don't fall for it. It's the same crap they tried in 2016 - didn't work then - don't let it work now.

All seats are in danger every election...presumably that is why we have elections.

Shhhh.

Remember, Democrats are terrible voters.

If they think they’re ahead in the polls they won’t bother to vote.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t they have a snowball’s chance in Hell of taking Congress, but it’ll be nice to have them loose by a sizable margin. Fewer recounts that way.

what a story. I would say that every seat in the house that is up is at risk before the election. If not, then why have the election?

I appreciate that Kevin has been consistently optimistic in his mid-term outlook, but in some recent story it states that Obama is now going to enter the mid-term election campaign, and that concerns me.

Not that I fear Obama, but above all else, Obama is about Obama and his legacy. If he believes the coast is now clear and that victory is in sight he then jumps on the bandwagon at the 11th hour to claim he did it all. Secondly, I think they will use Obama to stops the hemorrhaging of Black voter from the Democrat plantation as they know if Trump turns out the Black vote on his behalf, then it’s over for Democrats.

If anything, they gave themselves so much confidence in 2016, that some people didn’t show up to vote.

They're not too far afield. I like RealClearPolitics for keeping up on the current status of the close races. RCP indicates 77 GOP House seats that have some chance of flipping.

For the House, they have 174 Dem seats as "safe wins", and 163 GOP, leaving 98 total seats "in play"...

broken down as:
14 races that are "likely Dem",
13 "leaning Dem",
43 "tossups",
12 "leaning GOP",
16 "likely GOP"

Of those 98 "in play", 77 are current GOP seats (which makes sense since the GOP has the Majority). Of those 43 "tossups", 41 are GOP.

The MSM will have a lot to crow about on NOV 7. I'm predicting +23 in the House, and +7 on Governors for the Dems. The +3 GOP in the Senate keeps our President safe from Removal for at least 2 more years. The +7 in Governors still leaves the GOP up, 26-24 (not that majority matters for more than bragging rights).

The House Majority will be razor-thin either way. I think we will be up until 4am on NOV 6, waiting to see which Party gets seat #218.

Yeah, Politico's right -- 60 Republicans in the House are in danger of only winning by a few percent. Meanwhile, the minority Demagogic Party is in danger of losing seats in the House and in the Senate, so partisan media shills like those who run Politico are regurgitating this week's DNC talking point. Maybe they should interview Omarosa and John Brannan to get their projections on the election outcome. Thanks jmaroneps37.

I'm assuming that Politico is counting the Likely Dem, Leans Dem, Tossup, Leans GOP categories as their list of 60... RCP has 61 current GOP seats in those categories.

That leaves 174 current GOP seats as Safe and Likely. 218 is the magic number. The GOP needs to successfully defend 43 of those 61 current GOP seats that are in play. (RCP has the GOP likely flipping PA-14.... Bibiana Boerio-D losing to Guy Reschenthaler-R.)

Good point, but... Applying the same rubric, one can only say that the Dems are in danger of losing 11 House seats (as opposed to 60 GOP).

Just as the Dems have the bigger burden in the Senate races (defending 24 of the 35 this cycle), the GOPs great success in 2016 makes 2018 a bigger chore for us than for them.

We have to stay motivated and show up on election day, and it won't be much of a problem.
