Director James Gunn revealed that the upcoming "Superman" movie will be "about politics," saying that the iconic superhero is "an immigrant that came from other places." ....... And obviously, there will be jerks out there who are just not kind and will take it as offensive just because it is about kindness. But screw them."

Disnet is believed to be reassessing the potential of other live-action movies in the wake of Snow Whiteâs poor performance at the box office. The film, starring Rachel Zegler as the titular princess and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, failed to replicate the magic of the 1937 original, grossing just $69 million (ÂŁ53 million) domestically and $145 million (ÂŁ111 million) worldwide. This is against a production budget of $270 million (ÂŁ203 million), leaving Disney significantly in the red.

The crisis facing the Walt Disney Company over its controversial Snow White reboot deepened today amid pictures of empty cinemas and screens with no bookings in primetime slots following a poor opening weekend. Studio bosses had hoped that the reboot of the 1937 original, which had a budget of more than $270million (ÂŁ210million), would launch with at least ÂŁ79million ($100million) in ticket sales. But the movie starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot took just $87.3million (ÂŁ67.4million) globally including $43million (ÂŁ33million) in the US after a slow start followed a slew of negative reviews. Meanwhile, in mainland China, Snow White ranked...

Failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton doubled down this week on calling half of former President Donald Trumpâs supporters a âbasket of deplorables.â Clinton reflected on the infamous and divisive comment she made during a fundraiser in 2016 in a Washington Post op-ed published on Wednesday, adapted from her new book Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty. In the article, the former secretary of state recalled a meeting she had with a former white supremacist who now works to deprogram people leaving hate groups as an entry to discuss her âdeplorablesâ comment, and said the term...

The Walt Disney Company lost its top spot at the global box office in 2023 as the studio experienced an unprecedented string of woke flops, including The Marvels, Wish, and the latest Indiana Jones sequel. For the past seven years, Disney has reigned supreme thanks in large part to its Marvel and Pixar brands. But this year, Universal took the No. 1 spot, propelled by The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Oppenheimer.

This past Tuesdayâs CNN Iowa town hall event with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did little to boost the corporate news networks ratings. According to newly released viewership numbers, DeSantis drew just 622,000 viewers in the 9:00pm time-slot. Fox Newsâs Sean Hannity, also airing in the 9:00pm slot drew 2.1 million viewers the same night. The entirety of the prime time line up for MSNBC and Fox News significantly outperformed the DeSantis town hall, with the Florida Governor drawing about half the viewers as the far-left conspiracy theorist Joy Reid. The DeSantis campaign has been plagued by an inability to connect with...

The live-action, woke-AF remake of âSnow Whiteâ looks like itâs going to be Disneyâs next big-budget flop â and it also looks like the struggling studio already has someone primed to take the fall. To give you an idea of how insane Hollywood budgets are, even a blockbuster success can lose money. The new Indiana Jones drove this lifelong, diehard fan away â and I wasnât the only one. âIndiana Jones and the Diaper of Dysenteryâ needed to earn nearly ONE BILLION DOLLARS before showing a profit (as the Critical Drinker explained last month) but after seven weeks is still...

We told you it was looking bad for Indy's new feminist romp... ...and boy oh boy were we right. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny did a belly flop from 10,000 feet this weekend as the Mouse House's LucasFilm killed the last piece of intellectual property that it hadn't yet destroyed. The movie only made $130 million total on opening weekend (a holiday weekend, no less!). That's $60 million domestically and $70 million internationally against a budget of more than $300 million (not including marketing). That is less than half of the $272 million that the subpar Kingdom of...

Numbers don't lie, and in this case they paint a very grim picture indeed. With a budget of almost $300 Million that Lucasfilm are prepared to admit to, Indy 5 has a virtually impossible hill to climb at the box office.

Sources told Reuters of the job cuts on Saturday, which mark the first major job eliminations at the legendary studio in ten years. Lightyear producer Galyn Susman had been at Pixar since the release of the original Toy Story film in 1995, according to Reutersâ sources. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign announcement was mired by repeated technical glitches on Twitter Wednesday evening, in a black eye for the social media platform. The highly-anticipated announcement, set to be made via a conversation with Twitter CEO Elon Musk and tech entrepreneur David Sacks on Twitter's "Spaces" feature, was delayed as it appeared the platform was overwhelmed. Twitter's mobile app repeatedly crashed and users complained that they were unable to hear the broadcast. Whoops! We couldn't access this Tweet. Nearly 700,000 users logged in to hear the announcement roughly 20 minutes after it was launched. The event...

VLADIMIR Putin rushed through a speech in Moscow's Red Square today to open a diminished parade marking Russia's victory in World War II. Far fewer troops and a solitary rusting tank dating from the war were on display amid tight security after a suspected assassination attempt on the tyrant. -snip- A solitary WWII vintage commemorative T-34 was the only tank that took part and instead of usual show of armoured might, it was followed by just 10 armoured jeeps. The usual flypast over Moscow and other cities was cancelled again, after a lack of trained pilots grounded it last year.

The disastrous performance of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's climate change documentary at the box office over the weekend reminded her critics of one thing: She doesn't do her actual job in Congress. AOC enjoys all the perks of her job. She attends flashy galas, is on magazine covers, has done multiple friendly interviews and now has helped produce a film, "To the End," co-host Greg Gutfeld pointed out Tuesday on "The Five." But Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., accomplishes nothing in Congress, and Gutfeld said it's "no surprise" her film flopped, generating only $80 per theater. "Who would go see a movie that's the...

Itâs no secret that these two things are true: the Biden Administration and the CDC have been pushing hard for Americans to get yet another booster shot aimed at curbing the proliferation of the currently circulating COVID-19 variants, and that almost nobody has taken them up on the offer. Why? Sure, there remain lots of vaccine skeptics, but the majority of Americans got the first vaccine shots, and even the subsequent boosters got decent compliance. The bivalent booster has been a complete dud. Only about 1 out of 9 Americans have gotten the booster, which pretty closely mirrors the people...

Republican voters did their part. When one accumulates the popular vote for House races across the country, Republicans won by three percentage pointsâa margin that was once just under five points but narrowed as votes from deep-blue districts trickled in over weeks after Election Day. That kind of turnout for Republicans âwould normally translate into GOP gains of 20-30 seats,â according to the Cook Political Report. But Republicans have as of early December netted only eight seats, bringing their total in the House to 220. At most, Republicans will hold 222. In races that seemed to be easy flips, Republicans...
